Our Pineapple Cilantro Cream pairs our high quality Organic Bai Mu Dan with a delicate pineapple flavor and rich creaminess that finishes with fresh cilantro notes. This full bodied tea is gentle and refreshing and has an intoxicatingly sweet pineapple aroma. We recommend drinking this tea at a warmer temperature to maximize the flavors. This tea was originally intended as an art project inspired by an abstract painting but after hearing positive feedback from a customer who had tried this blend, we decided to make it available on our website.

Recommended Brew Time: 3 minutes 30 seconds

I figured that I’d better try this tea before my swap partner ends up getting it in the mail and trying it before me. Not that it’s a big deal but it would make me sad to have not had it before them lol.

So let’s recap here. White teas make for boring teas for Sil. :)

With that in mind, i picked this up from stacy anyway because a) half an ounce of tea is never too much to go through. b) i’ll try nearly anything that stacy creates at least once. and sometimes more than once if it’s a damn tea that i really really really want to like

This tea? It’s interesting. I actually prefer the mango cilantro blend that Stacy created for IndigoBloom over this one. This does remind me of pineapple for sure, and it’s a nice enough tea but it doesn’t rock my rocks the way that most of stacy’s other blends do. I’m fairly certain that’s the subtlty of the white tea in this baes. I do really enjoy the pineapple and cilantro flavours but i keep wanting a stronger flavour. So while this is a tasty enough tea, it is not the tea for me.

Ysaurella

ah you see I loved this one very much :)

Bonnie

Ok, this is the other white tea that I can’t taste. No tastebud activity whatsoever. I’m a freak!

Ysaurella

noooo you’re not Bonnie !

Sil

Bonnie – yeah this one is a really subtle taste. Creamy eggnog i get more from. Typically it’s why i’m happy when 90% of the blends are black teas haha

Bonnie

Thanks Ysaurella! Is it raining? You’ve had lot’s of rain recently according to my map.

Ysaurella

yes absolutely today it rained a lot and it’s so cold (2° C….yes I know it’s not cold for my Canadian Friends ;) but it is for Paris )

Sil

Ysaurella – 2 degress in france when it’s raining IS cold lol. There’s something about the rain that makes is feel colder.

tattooed_tea

It’s the darn dampness. Raining all day today, it may have hit 4 celcius. Brrrr

Kittenna

I’ll have to try this one next to IB’s version, which hopefully hasn’t been contaminated.

Indigobloom

I found this one much creamier. In a good way!

Thanks Stacy
You are wonderful!

I had to try this! I’m happy I did.

Cilantro is FRESH and green and of wonderful quality and flavor. The Pineapple perks this up nicely with a nifty tropical fruit addition. It’s at just the right ratio up against the Cilantro. The cream does just that…it makes it creamy and smooth…much like a Pineapple Creamsicle with some herbal goodness. The flavors are totally YUMMY together!

Lady 0f Spaydes

I normally loathe cilantro, but I could see it working in a tea. I had cilantro margaritas once that were pretty good (my friend didn’t clean the blender well after his aunt chopped up cilantro in it for salsa).

Sil

YAY looking forward to being able to order this one

I was expecting a sipdown but I still have enough leaf for one more cup. I am actually pretty glad as this cup is pretty tasty.

The cilantro is really a great addition. It is fresh and lends a flavor to this tea that makes it truly unique. It also provides a nice contrast to the sweet pineapple and the smooth cream. This is a nice, well-rounded tea, but I really need to be in the mood for it. Thank you JoonSusanna for sharing it with me!

Thanks for the sample Stacy! this is supertastic tasty :D
Pineapple, creamy goodness, cilantro and white tea. Oh my that is beyond heaven. At my friend’s place so can’t write much more.
I think I am in love.

CHAroma

Cilantro?! Ack!

Sil

Looking forward to trying this one

Azzrian

WHAT??? I want!

Sil

Azz – it’s the custom blend that IB had made. :)

BoxerMama

D: WANT!!!

Butiki Teas

Hmmm, maybe I should consider making this one. We will see. This was done for a special art project that I was working on but ended up losing out to another tea that is even better than this one. I had to borrow some of Indigobloom’s cilantro that I had special ordered for her mango blend and I figured I would send her the rest of this as a way of thanking her for letting me use the cilantro.

Sil

oopsy lol thanks for the correct Stacy…totally blanked that this wasn’t mango silly-antro

Sil

it sounds delicious… hint hint

mpierce87

Wow, this one sounds pretty intriguing.

Butiki Teas

Sil-Haha, well maybe. We will see. We do have a pineapple blend already but nothing with cilantro.

Sil

cough stacy…your current pineapple is also an oolong grin course i’m not sure what this one is..but you know how me and oolongs are :)

Kittenna

I want to try this too!

Indigobloom

Wow comment explosion! This is awesome hah
My sample is very generous but I’m not sure there is enough for everyone!

Indigobloom

oh and Sil, I believe it is a white blend

Butiki Teas

It is a white tea. We used the same Organic Bai Mu Dan base that is in our Cantaloupe & Cream. This one is hitting our website in the next few hours.

Sil

i’m waiting stacy… not that i’m allowed to get more tea yet..but i can pre=order for when you send my strawberry rhubarb lol!

Kittenna

Actually Sil, if you are ordering this, instead of me picking up a whole bag, would you be cool with either splitting it with me, or giving me a sample? I do suspect I’ll like it, and I’m dying to try it, but I really don’t need more tea!

Butiki Teas

Hahaha, Sil. Well, I just finished pricing it, so not I’m just coding it and it will be up pretty shortly. Probably within an hour.

Butiki Teas

er, I meant “now” not “not”.

Butiki Teas

Ok, its officially on our website. http://www.butikiteas.com/White.html Big thanks to Indigobloom who inspired us to make it publicly available.

Sil

Kittenna sure thing. Ill get back to you in our message thread when I get sorted

Indigobloom

It’s gonna be a huge hit, I cannot wait to see the rave reviews :D

Quick notes, falling asleep. Smelled a bit funky coming out of the bag, but it’s pretty good! Definite pineapple, nice and tart and true flavour; the cilantro isn’t overly obvious but present. Very tasty, though I probably won’t want more than my half ounce baggie.

ETA: Eek, I don’t know what happened, but when I re-steeped this one (admittedly a couple days later), it smelled way too much like roasted meat for me to even take a sip. Had to dump it out. I won’t hold it against the tea, as it was more than likely the fault of my crappy brewing habits, but… be warned!!

Super nice tea tonight…two steeps of it. It was the thing I needed to have with my dinner tonight (KD, fancy, I know). The last of the pu erh plus mac n cheese was sooo heavy, so I made this up to help lighten everything up. It was a success! I’m curious to see if the flowery pineapple oolong is more pineapple-y than this.

JustJames

nothing wrong with KD…. i had hot dogs =0)

Sil

The oolong is more pineapple-y than this one.

TheTeaFairy

Agreed with Sil, a lot more sweet pineapple in the other one! But I also love this one, though I can never really taste the cilantro, but I guess it brings the freshness in this tea.

Plunkybug

I’d be interested in trying the flowery pineapple oolong then. More pineapple!

I love mexican food. Like, it’s my favorite food on earth and I could live off of tacos. Or refried beans. Or cheese dip and guacamole and salsa. Cilantro, consequently, is one of my favorite flavors. Being that pineapple is one of my favorite fruits, this tea is combination of things I love and therefore could not be passed by.

The only thing I’m not sure about is the Bai Mu Dan base. White teas are so gentle that it seems like I miss a lot of their nuances. They are usually just weakly flavored water. I’m hoping that this will be different.

Steep notes: 2.5 g tea, 500 ml water, below parameters in the Breville.

The dry leaf smells FUNKY. There’s pineapple but it smells unnatural somehow. Maybe like candies or dried? Who knows, it may be the cilantro. But someone else mentioned the weird smell and the tea went on to be okay so I’m hoping that will be the case with me.

And it is! The hot water has made the leaf smell much more natural. I mostly get pineapple but there is some cilantro note hovering in the background. Mostly it’s a kind of generic clean herby smell, rather than specifically cilantro.

The flavor is much the same – light and clean. Sweet pineapple, fresh herbs and a light base that I don’t really taste. Thats good though – it doesn’t overwhelm the herb or fruit flavor this way. As it cools more of a creaminess is evident in both the scent and taste, and the cilantro comes to the forefront while the pineapple recedes a bit.

Amazing. A white tea that I really like, and a nice light tea that I could see myself drinking hot in summer, even. I’ll try it iced too, but this really is light enough that it’s cooling even when served warm, if that makes any sense. I have a feeling this one will go fast!

ugh every time I see a note on this, I want to try it but I’m terrified because cilantro tastes bad to me. It sounds soooo good otherwise.

Kittenna

Haha, I think it might have been me who mentioned a funky smell to the dry leaf. It kind of smelled like feet. But yeah, not in the flavour at all. Beware though, if you’re going to do a second infusion, do it sooner rather than later. Funky smell may return with a vengeance.

Is it possible that Stacy is getting even BETTER at blending teas? I think so! This is NUM NUM NUMMY!

jessiwrites

This sounds seriously amazing. Gah.

Indigobloom

I think you’re right Azzrian, everything I’ve tried from her has been beyond stellar :D

Ysaurella

I just received my order and have a sample of this one, now I see your note I want to have it right now :)

Meg

Mmm what a tasty sounding combination!

Invader Zim

What an interesting combination, it sounds delicious!

It’s a really warm day today and I’ve already had enough caffeine but nevertheless… I could not resist trying this sample.

I was intrigued to find out what cilantro would be like in a tea, I know some people hate the flavor of cilantro but personally I love it, I used to make pesto with it and I’d put that on a pizza with fresh tomatoes, nom nom!

Come to think of it I am also a big fan of pineapple. :)

Anyway on to the tea. White teas do not tend to be a favorite of mine as a rule. I wonder if I did something to mess this up because it smells great in the package but when I went to taste it, I’m getting kind of a faint pineapple and cilantro and not getting the characteristic sweetness one would find in a bai mu dan. It’s ok but I don’t love it.

dammit. now i’m thinking of cilantro pesto pizza. sigh. i used to make herb pesto, you know just grabbing what i needed out of the garden? from tea to pizza and back again…

wheezybee

Wow… I think I know what the next pizza I make is going to be. That sounds fantastic!

TeaBrat

yes I believe there were also WALNUTS in the pesto, I should make that again soon!

Received as sample with my Butiki order.
First, no idea who was the customer who managed to decide Stacy to add this blend to the Butiki collection but thank you !

This tea is just fantastic,so creamy so fruity and herbal and so perfectly balanced…this is yummy.

I particularly appreciate the way the pineapple flavour comes, subtle and delicate.

The problem with my samples is they make me strongly regret not having ordered these teas :(
The good point is I know what to order next time :)

Sil

This is on it’s way to me to try out! :) Looking forward to it, as I’ve had some of Indigobloom’s Mango Silly-antro blend, from which stacy got the cilantro to try to make this one heh

Butiki Teas

It was Indigobloom’s enjoyment of the tea that encouraged me to make it available. I was working on an art project and borrowed a few grams of her cilantro. I ended up choosing another tea for the project but figured I would send her the blend since she was nice enough to let me borrow the cilantro. Since she liked it so much, I decided to try it out on our website.

Ysaurella

so a great thanks to Indigobloom and you stacy
