76 Tasting Notes
Oh my this is tasty. Thank you Kayla for the swap! I’ve been wanting to try a whispering pines tea before I made an order. This tea did not disappoint. It isn’t a s’more flavor such as it’s not graham cracker and gooey chocolate. But it is a roasted marshmallow on a campfire on a cool fall night. If I close my eyes I truly feel, taste and smell like I’m at a bonfire with friends. This may not be an everyday tea but it’s definitely a must have for me.
Preparation
It has been a while since I’ve had an unflavored black tea and this is a tasty one to come back to. Although I probably shouldn’t be drinking this right before going to bed..
It smells like any other black tea but it’s flavors are much deeper. It has an underlying sweetness and chocolate to it with a nice mouth feel. Not too bitter. I highly enjoyed this and I’m going to resteep those leaves in the morning for my commute.
Preparation
I was out running errands today and I definitely needed this tea. This is my go to out and about tea. And the fact that I can get it in a giant cup makes it even better.
This week has been pretty awful. Work has been unnecessarily stressful and one my favorite coworkers had their last day on Friday. Happy for them to move on but sad for me. In addition to that coworker, another friend is moving away this weekend. Too much at one time.
I definitely should have looked at reviews before I tried this one. I think I grabbed a sachet of it out of Pass the TTB 2.
I gave it 2 good sips before I poured it out. I couldn’t get beyond the thick syrupy flavor I got out of it. I’m sorry to say this is probably the worst tea I’ve ever had. Bleh.
I thought I reviewed this tea but I guess not!
Sipdown sadly. I really enjoyed this tea. It’s a creamy lemony tea I could enjoy all year long. Just the right amount of light citrus flavor. I might have to order more of this one.
Buttermilk Lemon? What an odd sounding tea! I wonder if they mean a different kind of buttermilk than the sour stuff? I am quite curious to try it now.
I brewed this to do a little taste test next to 52teas rootbeer float. The butterbeer smells more of rootbeer but I find myself missing the marshmallow and vanilla that are in the rootbeer float. It definitely tastes like rootbeer. Although it leaves a strange sweet after taste in my throat that I’m not fond of.
I think that this tea is as close to a rootbeer float as a tea can get. The marshmallow is a really nice touch that adds a bit of depth to the flavor. It really gives it that vanilla ice cream flavor. I only had a few sips of it because my husband really enjoyed. Usually when he tries any tea he doesn’t say anything about it but this one he really liked.
On another note: I’m so glad the discussions page is working! I was having withdrawals over the weekend..
I hate that. Get distracted for what seems like just a moment, and next thing you know, the tea is bad.
