171 Tasting Notes
I did NOT sleep enough last night. Day from hell yesterday, nearly everything that go wrong, went wrong.
Underwire broke, power outage while straightening my hair, battery died in my jeep, lawn mower ran out of gas, burnt supper. I was ready to lock myself in my room. So, anxiety kept me awake last night, as well as fb.
Today is a new day, this tea will help me get through it all.
I still want to be a house wife so that I never have to see 6am again.
Mmmmm. . . I love this. There’s nothing I would change.
I saw my other half off yesterday and at the same time my boss is going on vacation. So not only has my time at worked increased, my work at home has as well. Today is my day off, the only one I get this week, and it was scheduled to it’s breaking point. And all at once, this morning, everything fell through. So, I will take it. This cup is the perfect way to start the day that only has grocery shopping on the agenda.
Preparation
I manage a pet store. I feel like I needed to add that first because otherwise it makes no sense.
I have made a rule that no one cleans any cages until after their cup of tea/coffee/hard liquor. Okay not hard liquor, that wouldn’t be professional. I broke my rule today and started with the budgies, then I stabbed myself with their swing under my nail. I have now deduced that this day sucks. It doesn’t really, just in some ways. My other half is now gone for the whole summer with Army. The day he gets back he has rehearsal for a wedding he’s best man for, then wedding the next day. Which means I get to see him in September. On the bright side I have FINALLY mastered standard driving! So GET OFF THE SIDEWALKS JEEPMAMA COMIN’ THROUGH!!
Also, I remembered to bring good tea to work, now that I bought a good kettle. So, I’m enjoying this bold, little cuppa. Then I get to show the ferrets whose boss.
Preparation
You made me LOL! I don’t think I could drive a stick, though I did a little bit when I was young. Sorry about hubby being gone. I have lived right beside Fort Bragg all my life so I have seen what the families have to do. I hope you get to see him sooner than you expect!
I’m in love with this tea and it’s almost gone. I could live in this cup. It’s bold and malty and I could drink it over and over and over.
Plus it distracts me from learning how to drive standard. . . All cars should just be automatic.
Preparation
I love my standard trans! Once you get the hang of it, driving an automatic will be boring! I promise!
oh well…as I like to tell my students, you had horrible coordination when you were born. Your hands & feet wouldn’t do what you wanted, you couldn’t talk, walk, or anything. You decided you were sick of laying there pooping your pants, so you just kept trying, & as they say in the iching, “perseverence furthers”. Look at all the things you can do now! Just keep ‘practicing’ & before you know it, you won’t have to think about it at all. You’ll just ‘do’ (I could start quoting Yoda at this point, but maybe not today :)
When I was learning to drive a stick, someone yelled, “Clutch” & I thought they were yelling, “Klutz!” OR maybe it was the other way around. ;)
I love a good clean cycle and they’re getting better all the time! This one is a good one. Gives your palate a break from fussy tea’s. I just tried a sample Ugandan ctc that was delicious. (Not for sale yet)
No, Mine is local. I’ve run into others like Ajiri from Kenya and it seems that these tea’s are getting better tasting. I like that they’re strong and straightforward. Good tea’s to drink if you plan on reviewing other tea later on and don’t want any aftertaste lingering to ruin the taste. My tea shop has the Kenyan and we’re waiting for the new Ugandan to arrive. That sample was impressive. Butiki’s is bready which I like in a ctc. No bitter aftertaste either.
I’m an info junkie. I like knowing ahead that tea’s are changing so that I can try them myself when they become available. I was just passing down the info.
Feeling supremely lazy this morning so I grabbed one these on my way to work.
Also, I need to buy a new kettle for at work because the one my boss bought is one of those one side coffee, one side hot water jobbies and it makes every cup taste like hot plastic.
Not that a cup os steeped tea tastes much better. Now everyone yell at me so I’ll stop!
I’ve gotten this a few times, when desperate. I’d rather go without. Their bagged English Breakfast is better.
I’m sick AGAIN! I got this one as a sample in my last order and, like every other butiki tea I’ve had, I love it. I added honey, which is not the norm for me, but my throat hurts so bad.
The taste it light a sweet, but I have zero appetite, so hopefully tea will keep me going!
mmmm! I woke up in a rotten mood. I’m off work today and heavily relying on good tea to snap me out of this funk.
I didn’t check the temp of the water, but I think it was a little cool. I’m getting heavier cinnamon than I remember. Apple and vegetal green tea. The smell is all potato though.
Murderous rage is fading.
My dream tea, materialized! I’m drinking this with a touch of skim milk and a half tea spoon of raw sugar. I have also had it straight and I love it both ways, but I was in the mood for sweetness.
Stacy is my hero. The first sip coats your mouth with a warm, comforting sweetness. You first taste the chai spice blend, then as soon as it leaves your mouth it’s 100% licorice. I find myself getting completely lost in it, distracted even. I’ve taken it to work in my thermos to work every day.
It’s perfect! :)
Preparation
I have never had licorice root. I can tell you there’s nothing artificial about it and it’s not “hurt your teeth” sweet.
I love this tea and had no idea I would be this much of a fan. I find that every time I’ve tested the tea that I had intended to have a few slurps and toss the rest but I each time I had to finish the cup. Yums!
I love licorice flavours like fennel and star anise, but really do not care for the lingering licorice rootness. :) I might have to add this to the local (huge) group order just to check it out.
i can’t really find the steeping parameters that I enjoy. This tea is just not appealing to me. hopefully I find the good spot soon.
Hope you have a much better day today!
What a bummer of a day! Was today better?
Don’t get chickens, then. LOL!
Hope today is better!
Today was great. The jeep is no longer out to get me, I bought a new bra. . . but my favourite jeans ripped. sadface
Glad it was a better day, sorry to hear about the jeans…I hate when that happens!
Me too! Especially when you happen to find the same pair for 75% off and they are one size too small.
ackckck, what a nightmare!
