297 Tasting Notes
I have FINALLY found a way that I can semi enjoy this tea!
Steeped 3 minutes, with 2 perfect teaspoons of rock sugar, turned into an iced latte!
It still tastes like burnt, but the marshmallow flavours are coming through.
I really thought all was lost with this one.
Flavors: Burnt Food, Marshmallow, Vanilla
Preparation
I love Davids & oolongs. This tea smells great so I thought I would love it.
I bought one of those sampler packs & was disappointed to see how much crap & so little oolong was in the actual bag. I’ll never understand why people feel it necessary to add big chunks of anything to an oolong.
The steeped smell was gross & smelt too much like rose, I am not a fan of floral teas. Thankfully the rose scent is not as strong in the taste. Overall the tea tastes ok, but it’s not great.
Preparation
Again this was a score from my $8 set from Chapter’s.
So far this is my second out of the box & I find they all have this similar off taste as they cool.
The initial taste is slightly rum like with a hint of raisin. There isn’t any biscotti taste, but it’s a decent tea. Not overly strong in flavour, ideally I would use twice the amount of leaves in these bags, but have been making smaller mugs to accommodate.
I wish that as these cooled that unpleasant taste wouldn’t be there, I’m not sure what’s causing it. I can’t finish the mugs because of it.
Preparation
Bought this in a mixed box from Chapters. On sale for $8 wooo
It smells amazing! Like sweet crisp apples. There is something in the taste that I can’t pin point but it’s not a pleasant flavour, it comes through at the end of the sip. You definitely get the crisp apple flavour at first. I’m not getting any of the spice though.
Once this had cooled to room temp I didn’t get the unpleasant flavour at the end of the sip. Tastes like a great unsweetened apple juice.
Went to Chapter’s last night and discover they now carry quite a few brands of tea, only a few types from each.
I grabbed the Sweet Macaron, because well you can’t find macarons anywhere in town. So I was hoping for the patry macaron, as apposed to a coconut macaroon. I opened the tin when I got home & was highly disappointed that it looked just like Toasted Walnut from DAVIDsTEA. Now I love that specific tea, but was excited for something new.
And of course it tastes just like the DT version. So Naturally I really like it, but the name was very deceiving. I think it may be sweeter than the DT version.
Since I don’t have a DT close it’s nice to know I can go pick this one up whenever.
Preparation
I received this a long time ago from someone, who I am pretty sure I still owe tea till.
I had it store in less than optimal conditions.
I wasn’t getting much caramel, or much sweetness to this, however it was AMAZING. So good, possibly the best oolong to date. I can only imagine how good it would be if it was fresh.
Preparation
Received this quite some time ago with an order. Made a small mug because, those little sample pack don’t have enough for a regular me size mug.
First off, I love coconut flavoured anything. Although haven’t had much luck with them, except for one I received during the 12 days swap last Christmas.
This is gross, it tasted like sun bathing lotion. BARF! Although I love the smell of that stuff, it’s not something I wanted to taste!
