From Camellia Sinensis

This white tea is very unusual combination of Darjeeling terroir, pure assamica tea, and the artisanal expertise of Avongrove’s Mr.Subba. Large silken buds give a relatively dark infusion and liquor due to the assamica’s chemistry. Rich and creamy in the cup with a smooth, full attack of cocoa butter and hazelnut notes that linger into a long pleasant aftertaste.

OMG! LOVE!

The aroma alone “had me at hello”!!!

It has amazing cocoa notes after infusing. The natural aroma is very powerful and truly crave-worthy!

The taste is delicious! It has cocoa and hazelnut hints but the white tea itself is top quality and smooth, silky, creamy, and a true delight!

I have had two cups already this morning and this white tea really has me craving more! I just might declare this one of my favorite white teas of all-time!

gmathis

It’s lovely when a tea says hello to you :) Most of mine just clammed up and grunted this weekend.

KeenTeaThyme

Darjeeling white tea?! I would think I’ve died & gone to heaven! That combination must ROCK! I’m hunting down as we speak…

Michelle Butler Hallett

I’ve got some Darjeelong Ooling from Adagio … ohhhhh blisssssss … tried some Darjeeling White from Stash once and oh MY.

Imagine bath bubbles that smelled of Darjeeling …

TeaEqualsBliss

LOVE this! Esp the aroma!

TeaEqualsBliss

But this smells BETTER than Darjeeling! It has a little extra something!!!

Infusin_Susan

I am not normally fond of Darjeelings; I find them kind of bitter/astringent. But you are making this one sound very tempting!

TeaEqualsBliss

Infusin_Susan…I totally understand what you are saying! I would certainly suggest trying this one! :)

Backlog from last night.

I loved this tea. Like, a lot. But, reading the description here, and reading other’s reviews, I realize that my cuppa tasted waaaaaay different from the others. I guess this tea was supposed to have chocolate and hazelnut tones, but I didn’t really get that. What I got was really fruity. Like, I swear to god this tasted exactly like blueberries to me, and I asked my mom and she said the same. I don’t know what’s up with that, but I do know that I really liked the blueberry taste. It’s been sealed this whole time (thanks to LiberTEAS for sending this to me) and I’ve kept it away from all flavored teas, so I don’t know why it tasted like blueberries. I guess I kind of got another note, kind of woodsy in a way with a nice depth, but the main taste was fruity.

Weird. I’ll have to try again, maybe my tastebuds were just off!

tea tastes different to every individual palate. That’s really my only explanation for it.

ashmanra

I have had only a couple of darjeelings and they had a strong, characteristic muscatel grape flavor. Maybe that comes out as blueberry for you.

Ian

@LiberTEAS: That is true because this wouldn’t be the first time that a tea has tasted the exact opposite for me as it has for others.

@ashmanra: I’ve only had a few also, but out of the ones I’ve had the muscatel flavor (or what I’m assuming was muscatel) tasted way different from this…. Maybe what I was tasting actually wasn’t muscatel?

Angrboda

What LiberTEAS said. When tasting tea, or anything really, there is no right or wrong way or right or wrong notes. If anybody ever tells you that you can’t possibly have found this or that in any given tea, ask them how they manage to taste with your tongue and to kindly stop it because it’s kind of creepy. :)

This is one of most remarkable white teas I’ve ever tasted. So strong in flavor – nothing delicate about this cup! It is smooth and rich and creamy! Delicious and even decadent! There is a chocolate note to this that is rather irresistible. I love this tea!

Wow, this is divine! Take everything I have ever loved about white teas, mix it with the flavour intensity of a first flush darjeeling, and that’s mostly how I feel about this one. I get tasty notes of pepper, and I can also find the hazelnut. Not as sure about the cocoa butter, but there is so much more to this tea. Every sip is so precious, it’s the perfect ending to a few days loaded with food!
