So strangely I haven’t apparently had this since December…..which doesn’t really seem right but hey, we’ll go with it. Final tally for tonight is 230 BUT I haven’t had a chance to put the shared order that Terri and I have that’s at my house. That’s another 8 teas or so but ill worry about those when I get some time on the weekend since I suspect I may have to manually enter them all.

Release is apparently finally going in this weekend which normally would mean lots of tea drinking Saturday night but they’re forcing us to go to the centre, rather than test from home since its been a shit show the past few releases soooooo it basically means no tea for most of Saturday and Sunday. Which sucks. Which means ill be struggling to get to 200 before I go on vacation but maybe I can get enough teas to 1 cup status to bring a new cup of tea for me to drink every day I’m on vacation for sipdowns lol.

This tea? Well see previous notes. It’s lemon, its creamy and I think? I prefer the lime and the orange over it, but not by much…they’re all a pretty close margin :)

Dinosara

Is that supposed to be 230 or did you just gain 100 teas while I wasn’t looking? :)

Sil

haha yeah 230 lol

TeaLady441

230! That sucks that you’re going to be so busy on the weekend though. Don’t you ever get days off?

Sil

Days off…..lol sometimes. Usually I should have my weekends off always but it’s been a bit of a mess with releases the past few months. On the plus side, if this keeps up ill have like 3 months of vacation racked up since time in lieu is 1.5 hours for every 1 hour you worked lol

Nxtdoor

Ah, there’s that familiar word “release” that I thought I wouldn’t see for a while. Hahaha.

Sil

nxtdoor – they’re talking one every month until november now…to catch up bwahahaha so you’ll be hearing it lots! :)

I’m very close to a sipdown for this one! One, maybe 2 cups left :P I did a small boo boo with this cup, I rinsed my cups earlier with vinegar to try to remove some tea stains, must not have rinsed the one good enough, because after steeping this I smelled vinegar! I quickly transferred it to another cup and thankfully the flavor has not been affected and it smells normal again lol. This is still a smooth, sweet rooibos, but now that I’ve had Lime Chiffon and Lemon Lime Cream Tart, I can definitely taste the differences. This one is a lot sweeter and more like cake, not as much of a tangy citrus flavor. I’m still having a tough time deciding which one is my favorite of the three! This one might not be as flavorful because it’s at the bottom of a bag I’ve had for a while, but it’s still holding it’s own! Oh, and I decreased the rating a tad just so it’s on par with the Lime Chiffon becaues I’m not quite sure about which one I prefer now lol. I just love the citrus rooibos Della Terra makes I guess. I saw they made an Orange cream now too, haha definitely going to try that one too! Anyways, back onto this tea, still an awesome rooibos, and I will be sad when I finally finish this bag, but at least I have two other good ones to sip :) see previous notes on this tea!

I had been wanting to cold brew a rooibos tea for a while and I believe it was Sil who mentioned that this was good as a cold brew. Having tried it, I can now confidently say she was right. This has all the delicious lemon chiffon taste with absolutely no hint of rooibos that I occasionally get when brewed hot. I think I will try cold brewing Lime Chiffon next. Not at all a bad introduction to the wonders of cold brewed rooibos.

You are quite wise in the ways of tea, Sil. I polished this bottle off in no time.

Sil

just glad you found a happy spot with them :)

Travel-mugged this one as well. Definitely more creamy today, so I’ll really have to repeat my comparison, and add Lemon-Lime Cream Tart in there too. Quite tasty though. I think that keeping one of these delicious citrusy-cream teas in my cupboard may be a necessity. Luckily(?) it will be a long time before I run out….

OMGsrsly

I’m looking forward to this one! Can hardly wait till my order arrives. Good to know it works well in a mug. :) Which reminds me. How do you brew your teas in your Contigo mugs? My strainers don’t fit the smaller opening of the locking style, so I’m having to use a pot, and transfer the tea into the mug. Easier to just line up mugs with strainers, really.

Kittenna

Honestly, I don’t bother brewing teas directly in-mug, even though I do have infusers that fit the Contigo mugs. I find that sometimes the flavour seems to be altered when the water doesn’t cool as the tea steeps, so I just brew in a normal mug and transfer. I am pretty sure, though, that my mom brews in-mug because she likes her tea to stay hotter. The DT perfect infuser fits into the opening of the locking Contigos (which are what I have), and I also have Finum baskets (medium size, I think), and IIRC they fit great as well.

OMGsrsly

Good to know! I’ll have to pick up a couple extra mugs or thrift store tea pots, as that’s definitely a cheaper option than the Finum baskets or perfect infusers.

Kittenna

Hahaha, yes, yes it is. I didn’t buy the infusers specifically for the mugs; they just happened to fit :)

Nighttime tea. It was pretty perfect, and hit all the right notes.

I’m so close to being caught up, so not going to write anything else on this one.

I’ve been busy enjoying Christmas festivities so I haven’t had much chance to write many tealogs lately. But when my Della Terra teas order arrived in a festive red box, I just had to log in and write at least a few lines. Besides, I miss checking in with my Steepster friends :)

Lemon is one of those flavors that I enjoy, but it isn’t necessarily my absolute favorite, so I didn’t have high expectations for me liking this tea. It’s pure lemony goodness, not so much the sour natural lemon taste, but more like a lemon extract, but creamier. Even when I first caught a whiff of this tea it immediately made me think of lemon cake, which is remarkable because I actually didn’t even know that lemon chiffon was a cake until after I tasted this tea and then I decided to look it up.

I only have a couple of samples of this tea from my try me packs, but it is definitely something I would reorder.

Ozli

Heee, I went to put this on my shopping list after you said the magic words “lemon cake” and it was ALREADY THERE :D :D

canadianadia

If lemon cake is your magic word, then you will definitely enjoy this tea :)

I hope I get my order soon!!!! I didn’t get this one but am making a mental note here.

I’m glad I got the chance to revisit this one because I’ve changed my mind again- I prefer Lime Chiffon. I feel that the flavours are sharper with the Lime, whereas the Lemon is softer and sweeter. Both are great in their own ways, though.

Thanks, OMGsrsly, for sharing! I could almost taste the delectable notches of cream and citrus through this crummy sinus infection. Almost. Bleh. Probably not going to be drinking anything new for a while, or teas I really like. What a muted sipdown.

Get better soon! I heard sinus infections can be really terrible.

Crowkettle

Thanks, Incendiare! It’s not fun, but it also gives me the chance to catch up on some leisure reading and drink up my grosser teas. :)

In between some work and wanted to make a quick note on this one.
I have to first state I have been so sick of honeybush and red rooibos for ages now HOWEVER I really would like to get a decent nights sleep (not gonna happen) and I only have a little more work to do before I can attempt that. Caffeine does not tend to keep me awake – its ME that does – my mind does not slow down. Regardless I figure I may just not tempt fate tonight. Besides I really did want to try this.

So … its quite lovely. Taste like creamy smooth lemon! It also tastes like honeybush though. Its not that I do not like honeybush its just that I don’t really care for the way it tends to change the flavors that I keep wanting to have in a black, or green, or white, etc…

Della Terra does 95% of their teas to perfection and those that are not perfection they re-blend until they are. I totally respect that.

I would not say there is a thing wrong with this tea and am giving it the rating it deserves even if I am snubbing my nose at honeybush and red rooibos right now.

Sil

ooh that sounds kinda good. I had thought about this one, so might have to try this one next

Terri HarpLady

Azzrian, I think we may have been separated at birth, because I have a brain like that! I actually DID go to bed at midnight, as opposed to 2am, but woke up twice with my brain “thinking”. It’s like my brain’s a computer with an automatic “on” switch, and I don’t sleep during the day, because if any light shines on or around me, my brain switches to full ON mode.

Regarding honeybush & rooibos: I remember the days when tisanes didn’t have them, they hadn’t been discovered yet (at least not in the US). Now they are in everything, they have taken over the world of non-caffeinated teas. I’ll admit that in certain blends they lend something, but jeez, you can’t get away from them! I think Tulsi (Holy Basil) is starting to do the same thing…it’s a conspiracy of some kind…

Zoltar

Welcome in the club of the night shift brain lol working during day and overtime during night i hate that stupid brain of mine buuut i find some years ago that sleeping with music shut it up ( my mind fix itself on listening to the music and forgot to think )

Azzrian

Zoltar – indeed I fall asleep often to the Aura or Indigo music channels with the new age tunes. :)

Terri – I hear you on both counts!!

Azzrian

Sil if you like honeybush I would say go for it!

Terri HarpLady

Azz, I like Zoltar, can we keep him?

Azzrian

I agree Zoltar seems pretty awesome, love the user name too! Reminds me of the Zoltar fortune telling machine! :)

Terri HarpLady

Yup, from the movie, “Big”. I love that one!

Azzrian

Terri there is also one in a new age shop that is located in the town next time mine about 20 minutes away. I took a photo of it lol .. so they exist in real life too :) haha pretty cool I would love to have it in my house :)

Zoltar

It is from Big ! a site web exist where you can actually buy a zoltar machine :P( probably more than one but well where to get a zoltar machine if not from a site called zoltarmachine ) the economic one is around 5500$ lol so i will stay with my avatar for now :P or i could buy a costume and tell my self my fortune but i kinda having a hard time with the red eyes thing lol

Azzrian

They have contacts for that! :)

Terri HarpLady

LOL!! Or you can start telling our fortunes!

Azzrian

Hey thats my job haha.

Zoltar

Since I’m Zoltar my credibility come from my red glowing eyes and the fact than when people see me working even when im not plug in they freak out and believe me for the red eyes it’s ok i can just throw sand in it they will not glow but they will be red :p but the not plug in would not have such effect when they will see i’m human .

The only job i still can do with that costume is a Aladdin movie

Whoa WHOA!

Just made this iced (double strength over ice, honey and lemon slice for appearances) and WHOA! Creamy! Lemony! Smooth! Awesome! Delicious! Not rooibosy at all!

Need to drink this hot, I’m just short on non caffeinated tea. I’ll do a full tasting review at another time.

Added some rock sugar and a splash of milk tonight, and that only made this better. This is, like, the rooibos for people who don’t care for rooibos. Lemony, creamy, naturally slightly sweet, and no dominating rooibos flavor. As I think I said on my first review of this, if more rooibos blends tasted like this, I might actually like rooibos.
