Blackberry Blizzard

Made a big coldbrew pitcher of this to get rid of it. It’s fine, but not quite as tasty as I had remembered it being. Pretty standard DavidsTea fruit blend.

Too bad, I finished this off and never wrote about it. The bag smells vaguely like raspberry sourpuss and I have a vague recollection of thinking that it was okay, but really don’t remember. Annoying.

Thanks again for that awesome package of teas you sent a while back, TreeGal! I’m not sure what this blend is going for — blizzard as in like a milkshake? The description mentions yogurt but there doesn’t seem to be a yogurt component to the tea. I have no idea. I really like blackberries but this tastes more like a berry vitamin. I’m not sure if that is due to the splenda or the blackberry leaves. I wish more of the fruit flavor was apparent in the cup. It tastes like blackberry, just more like a kids chewable vitamin sort of berry. I’m sure my parameters could be adjusted to result in a better flavor… Always happy to try a tea anyway!

I really enjoyed this fruity tea. The blackberry is really nice, and it must be the blackberry leaves that gives it a little bit of pop. I got this as a sample in my advent calendar, after trying it I KNOW it will make a good caffeine free summer tea. I tried it hot, I’ve yet to try it cold!

Very fruity and blackberry (not just generically fruity), which is nice. I’m often underwhelmed by things that are supposed to have blackberry. However, there is something in there that makes it sickly sweet to me. VariaTEA mentioned blackberry leaves, I don’t know if that’s what it is, but it’s just like a sugar bomb of grossness to me, and I don’t usually mind sweet. It is very flavorful, and if it wasn’t for that sweetness, I think I’d love this one – but as it is, it kind of makes me gag. I might try mixing it with some plain black tea to see if I can make a really blackberry black tea…then again, I may not bother, lol.

Hmm this one smells and tastes a lot like their raspberry cream pie flavor. You definitely get the sense of berry flavoring, but without the sourness that some other brands bring. Very light and sweet. They’re definitely good at making this type of blend if this is the sort of thing you want. I like it, but as with most of their blends, likely wouldn’t repurchase.

I had this one last night iced and with a little bit of honey (a right prediction it could use some extra sweetness). I personally really liked it. It wasn’t severely lacking in any flavour. It tasted like candy, though, not blackberries. Blackberry bushes are very common where I live and this tea didn’t capture the same elements I was hoping, but it was definitely done better than I’ve experienced before with blackberry flavours. It was tangy and sweet, very much like an almost too ripe blackberry off the bush. And that’s not to say I added too much honey. The flavours fit well together, it was just a little lacklustre for my taste. All this considered, I didn’t end up finishing the drink, but perhaps when the right hot day comes I may.

Very so-so, generic even.

I tried 4 of DAVIDsTEA’s newer (newish) iced teas all in one week, and I wasn’t really impressed with any of them. I didn’t add any sugar, steeped the tea as instructed, and then poured it over a cup of ice. After a fair number of sips, I added lemonade “to taste” – half my cup ended up as lemonade.

This one is okay. Just okay. It does have a strong blackberry flavour and I’m not the biggest fan of blackberries. I found mixing it with other teas was helpful to make the blackberries less overwhelming. I won’t be buying any more of this one but it was drinkable.
