From Traditional Medicinals

Peppermint tea promotes healthy digestion by relieving mild gastrointestinal tract conditions that occur after eating. Mint leaves have been used in medicine for several thousand years according to records from the Greek, Roman and ancient Egyptian eras. Peppermint tea is traditionally used as a digestive aid for occasional indigestion, and it is particularly helpful with flatulence and a sensation of fullness. The aromatic taste and cooling sensation of peppermint is unmistakable! Children and adults alike enjoy its refreshing flavor.

I am a bit of a loose tea snob.
However, when I have tummy troubles I do not care, I just want some relief.
I like this tea.
As well as this companies Ginger tea.
They both are very effective.
I love this peppermint tea because if my nervous tummy gets nauseous or I ate something rich, this tea simply makes you feel less full and queasy.
I always try to keep a box of this around for tummy troubles.
Plus, you can re-steep the bags 2-3 times!

Backlog!
I found this in my locker at work and made it for the last hour of work. Smooth and minty. I liked it though :]

It’s organic, it’s peppermint, it’s organic peppermint tea. There’s not much else to say about it. Useful for the evenings when even the slightest hint of caffeine would leave you staring at the ceiling all night.

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – July 2024 Tea #3 – A minty tea

Woowee does this teabag pack a peppermint punch.  They are not joking around.  The color of the brew almost looks like black tea and I didn’t steep it THAT long (the instructions suggest 10-15 minutes. whoa.)  The flavor is herbal, vegetal, but also slightly sweet and VERY minty.  This can be used as some serious relief for my headaches.  I will try to remember that.

Another tea from derk! Thank you

Again “simple” day – simple drinks as peppermint tea.

I let the bag in all time, so really long steeping time.

Another very fresh and refreshing peppermint. I can’t compare it to Czech brands, which are weak and dirty in taste.

Very tasty, long mounth-feel. Highly drinkable. If I have to compare with Celestial Seasonings, it’s bit worse, but still highly recommended!

The antidote to today’s reuben sandwich.

I have this thing with peppermint where I found that I like dried loose-leaf prepared best when steeped at 175F for only a minute or two. But I went ahead and followed package directions for this teabag: boiling, covered, 10-15 minutes. As soon as I poured water over the bag, the brew turned a pretty green. When I took the lid off 15 minutes later, it was brown. I feared for muddy peppermint.

Instead, it was good, clean fun :) Can’t go wrong with that.

As far as peppermint teabags go, I still prefer Two Leaves and a Bud brand because it’s serious menthol. I can never find it in stores here, though. Since Traditional Medicinals is located just down the road, I’ll be supporting them even if they do source their leaf from afar. Sprouts was out of stock of this today so I get to compare Celestial Seasonings next.

Spearmint is great for that menthol vibe as well, but you don’t see it nearly as often.

I had been reflecting on the concept of Ichigo Ichie and trying to relate it to my tea drinking practices, so when I was becoming overwhelmed with studying I decided to take a moment for a cup. I selected peppermint because I knew it would help alleviate tension in my body and help refresh me to continue with my studies.

I boiled the water and let it cool while I selected my mug: a handmade and glazed purple and blue clay cup. I poured the water over the packet and let it steep for a couple minutes before indulging. The flavor is very strong, but not overwhelming, from the first sip. The main not was a refreshing and almost sweet peppermint. It was lovely how the flavor lingered without becoming overpowering with each sip.

At first I was hesitant about this tea, I thought it didn’t taste as clean as the Yogi brand of Peppermint (which I couldn’t find at the store last night). But it is an easy, smooth tea that is absolutely delicious! Very happy with this tea’s taste and fresh smell. :)
