85 Tasting Notes
The Queen of Hearts, she made some Tarts. Fitting song to have stuck in my head while I sip away on this tart tea. It is distracting to have a song stuck in your head while sipping a tea and doing a marathon of marking.
Dried the leaf has mixed aroma of sweet and tangy which made my mouth water as lingering scents of fruit danced in between the the sweet and tangy notes. It brews a delightful blood red colour and the taste doesn’t disappoint with its tart which is what I was expecting!
Now if only the Strawberry Rhubarb tea took a note from the Queen of Tarts!
Flavors: Fruity, Rhubarb, Sweet, Tart

Report card season is a daunting task. It is long and tiresome and tea is my friend in this entire process. I don’t drink it to keep me awake, but more to keep me focused and to de-stress.
Right now I am sipping away on a warm cup of Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was a 5g sample pack that I had received with an online order. I wanted something a little different and decided to give this one a try rather than venturing off to one of my familiar and favourite teas.
The aroma is comforting both dry and brewed, with hints of summer oranges floating in the air reminding me of laying in the field watching the clouds float by. It brews a lovely yellow hue. Each mouth is uniquely different and I was really surprised by the lingering notes of lemon and less of the orange taste I was expecting.
I will drink this again.
Flavors: Lemon, Smooth

Sipping this lovely delight as I mark student work and prepare for their unwanted report cards. I can easily become lost in the cup of soothing tea.
It has been some time since I was able to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea without being interrupted by a student or child of my own. The solitude and tranquility found in each sip is soothing and mind relaxing.
Needless to say I still enjoy this tea. Today as I work on reports, it is my goal to sip away at a lot of the older stash to make room for newer and fresher leaf.
Flavors: Cinnamon
I realized today that I had not written any reviews for the teas I have been consuming on a daily basis since I returned to work. Whoever said teachers have an easy job has not actually taught a class of 20 students in a mixed grade before. Thankfully it is the weekend and I all I am doing is lesson planning and writing my long range plan for the school year.
While I do this, I decided to try a new tea and sip away while I worked. This did start off hot, but as time wore on it has now become cold, well warm since it has decided to finally give us summer when it should be fall.
Dried, I pick up the hibiscus flower more than the berries in the leaf. Brewed, it produces a deep red liquid with a very berry aroma. The first sip was a smack in the face that was welcoming, the black berries danced along my taste buds while leaving behind the lingering taste of elderberries and cherries. Every sip both hot and warm is pure delight and reminds me of sitting with my grandpa eating Bordeaux Cherry ice cream while my grandma set up the next round of Yahtzee.
Flavors: Berry, Sweat
Preparation
After my last dreadful attempt to make this tea, I waited until I had bought the kettle of my dreams. Last night my husband came home with that very kettle! I love the option to choose my boil level and knew which tea I wanted to try first!
It was green tea nirvana in a cup! No burnt leaves this time and no crying while I dumped it down the sink. Simply amazing! Dried it had a green floral aroma which I wasn’t to sure of. It brews a typical clear yellow for green teas and had a muted green scent which I loved. Every sip was filled with green tea and hint of something else. It did leave an aftertaste that I am use to with most green teas.
I cannot wait to add more to my stash.
Flavors: Floral, Green

Wasn’t paying attention to what I opened and scooped into my cup. Only to realize as I went to take a nice big sniff of the brew that it had chamomile in it. insert tears and sad face here Allergies really suck! I was loving the Christmas fruit cake vibe of the dried leaves.
So I have no clue how this tea tastes, but my oldest is laughing as she sips away on the cup of tea she did not have to make for herself.
Preparation
Enjoyed a hot cup of this tea this morning while I watched my children eat toaster struddles. I cherished every sip and giggle they made, knowing that in 10 days we would not enjoy these moments during the school day. They will be at daycare giggling over breakfast, while I am off to work getting ready to educate young minds.
Flavors: Berry, Sweet

I took this along with me to my interviews to enjoy after the hot tea was finished. I just love this. I made sure to order plenty to carry me over the winter months when I still long for a cup of iced tea (yes I am weird like that).
Fortunately for me it was while I was sipping this and traveling to my final interview of the day that I got a phone call from a principal with a job offer for this school year. I had to pull over and call that last interview to tell them that I would not be coming in as planned. I sat their for a bit sipping on this delightful drink and mulled over what I had been offered and resisted the urge to drive over to the school to get my keys today instead of Monday.
Oh frozen raspberry how I am glad we share this memory together, forever.
Flavors: Fruity, Raspberry, Sweet

Another daunting day of interviews that started earlier than any human should be actually thinking after a long vacation. Thankfully today was not planned to be as busy as yesterdays adventures were. It did start with an early interview at 8 am.
I got this tea as a sample with a recent online order (I wish they gave these out in store when we bought items in person), and since I was looking to try something new this morning I opted to put it into a teabag for my travel mug.
Dried it has a very sweet orange aroma. It brews a deep red colour with a ginger and pumpkin scent. I absolutely loved the taste of this since it reminds me of my favourite season and eating cooked pumpkin at dinner (yes I eat it like squash and put it in pies and cakes and cookies… I digress into thoughts of fall).
Sad part about all of this, I need to make this part of my shopping list because I need more than just a sample cup, I need many days of this tea in my life.
Flavors: Carrot, Pumpkin, Smooth, Sweet
Preparation
Sipping on this while I relax and update my tea cupboard. It is the perfect drink to enjoy after a very long and daunting day of interviews. Tomorrow will be no different with an even earlier start to my day.
This cup of hot tea though has an entirely different flavour, the one I have been seeking since the very first cup I brewed. Hello rhubarb! Welcome tartness! Where have you been hiding your sweet little face?!
Flavors: Rhubarb, Sweet, Tart
