From DAVIDsTEA

Sweet, tangy and totally addictive – is there anything more delicious than a perfectly ripe blackberry? Not that we can think of. And this fruity tisane captures that fresh-off-the-bush blackberry flavour to a T. Add in a rich swirl of creamy yogurt and you have the ultimate berries and cream treat. The best part? It’s caffeine-free and makes an amazing iced tea kids will love. With a blend this cool, that summer heat doesn’t a chance.

Ingredients: Apple, papaya (papaya, sugar), pineapple (pineapple, sugar), rosehip shells, hibiscus, sweet blackberry leaves, blackberries, artificial blackberry, red fruit and boysenberry flavouring.

Price per 50g: $7.98

Tastes so much like a berry Kool-Aid. I like this best iced, when it reminds me of my childhood summers and pitchers of Kool-Aid in the fridge. It’s fun and pleasant, but I probably wouldn’t repurchase it or drink this too much (same way I never drink Kool-Aid anymore). It doesn’t have a very complex or interesting taste, if that makes sense, but it’s good for what it is, which is a sweet & straightforward berry tea. I don’t find it to be sour at all. I’d recommend if you’re into fruit teas or looking for something pleasant and caffeine free to ice.

No stevia but apparently the blackberry leaves made this too sweet for my tastes. If you can get past that, it sort of tastes like a berry flavored grape juice. Check out my full review here: http://sororiteasisters.com/2017/08/20/blackberry-blizzard-from-davids-tea/

This tea is good, I bought 4 oz after I first tried it because I thought I loved it. After drinking it a few more times I’ve fallen out of love with it. I prefer it hot to iced, but I would love to try it frozen into a popsicle. I think it would be a great option for a tea popsicle. It’s not quite as fun to drink anymore since it’s beginning to turn to fall but my hope is to finish what I have soon. I don’t think I will really need to buy more once I finish what I have. That being said a lot of people love this tea so it might be your type of tea. It’s super fruity, a little tart, and very sweet.

Enjoyed a hot cup of this tea this morning while I watched my children eat toaster struddles. I cherished every sip and giggle they made, knowing that in 10 days we would not enjoy these moments during the school day. They will be at daycare giggling over breakfast, while I am off to work getting ready to educate young minds.

A customer at DAVIDsTEA was raving and obsessing over this blend, demanding to know when it was going to go on sale, and/or if it’ll be permanent because it’s her favourite blend. So thought I should give it a go in spite of the heavy artificial scent of the dry leaf in the sniffer lid.

My nose is almost always right. Blackberry is the strongest flavour in here, followed by sugary sweet pineapple, and some other fake berry flavour. It also tastes like someone dumped a healthy helping of an artificial sweetener in here like Splenda. I’ve said this about another blend in the recent past, but its combination of artificial berry with tons of sweetener reminds me of those sucralose-loaded flavoured waters.

You know, it’s funny how this semi-annual sale sucked me in after not paying much attention to their offerings since last fall or winter, I can’t even remember. So now I’m playing a bit of catch-up and so far, it doesn’t seem like I have missed too much, save for a couple good blends. Maybe this is how I’ll do it from now on. I’ll only come in if/when there’s a good sale, especially considering their price increases. Can’t believe how expensive many of their blends have become!

You have to remember a lot of people believe you need to add a TON of sugar to everything. That’s when their not adding salt mind you. I add milk if I have over steeped a tea and it’s bitter or if I’m making a latte but otherwise I leave my tea in peace.

Fjellrev

Yeah, I know it’s all subjective, but wow, it’s crazy how sugar-crazy people are. And then for people to want to add even more to it?

And you’re right about salt too. I tried a burger place for the first time yesterday since people I know were raving about it and I thought I’d treat myself to some fast food, and while the fries were good, damn, they were so heavy on the salt. Like dial it back a bit, yo. I feel so bloated and disgusting today, now.

Autistic Goblin

Have some good tea. It shall fix everything.

I like your attitude!

final sipdown of the day…only made it to 10 but i’ll take it haha. I tried this one cold brewed since i didn’t LOVE the hot brew of this. I prefer the cold brew but there’s something in the taste that lingers and feels sweetly slimey? It’s not stevia but it’s that same sort of feel to it…possibly the excess of blackberry leaves? Not sure. either way it just means that while i’ll drink this – it’s nothing i need to keep around.

Blackberry is one of my favorite fruits. I am always on the look out for a good blackberry tea. So far, it has been hit and miss. Thanks for the info on this one :)

There’s a blackberry tea I vastly prefer…I just can’t recall it at the moment…..will try and remember

Coldbrew review
1.5 tsp leaf, 600 mL cold water, left the teabag in for the hour it took me to finish the cup in the morning lecture. I feel like it had time to brew, but even at the end didn’t brew as strong as I hoped it would. Maybe it’s just that the blackberry is accompanied by a generic berry flavour, and those cloud the blackberry a bit.

Another one of the teas I picked up from DT this week. I bought these teas specifically so I had some nice coldbrew options. I didn’t hate this, but I was expecting more from something rated in the 80s by multiple steepsters.

It was definitely blackberry, and there was a creamy element to it, I thought the blackberry and cream could have both been stronger. Maybe this is better hot? The rooibos come through in the coldbrew quite heavily, but I wouldn’t say it was all that great. The whole thing was just a bit generic and unimpressive. I’ll try it hot and re-evaluate. One thing I did like was the honey/maple syrup quality I got from the base, and I think this will be brought out even more hot. Rooibos can do amazing things.

I’ve come to realize that I’m not a fan of iced tea. I mean, it’s good, but it’s way too sweet for me. Maybe it’s the bad weather or the fact that I haven’t tasted the perfect iced tea yet, but I’m not into this craaaazy hype over iced tea right now. Although I bought my first tea press and I bought this fruity tea, I can understand the love over this one. It’s a really good tea.

I really like this berry tea. It’s really great iced. My kids both thought it tasted like a kids drink when I made it a little stronger and served it over ice. I’ve reordered this and already dread the day it’s unavailable.
