From DAVIDsTEA

Sweet, tangy and totally addictive – is there anything more delicious than a perfectly ripe blackberry? Not that we can think of. And this fruity tisane captures that fresh-off-the-bush blackberry flavour to a T. Add in a rich swirl of creamy yogurt and you have the ultimate berries and cream treat. The best part? It’s caffeine-free and makes an amazing iced tea kids will love. With a blend this cool, that summer heat doesn’t a chance.

Ingredients: Apple, papaya (papaya, sugar), pineapple (pineapple, sugar), rosehip shells, hibiscus, sweet blackberry leaves, blackberries, artificial blackberry, red fruit and boysenberry flavouring.

Price per 50g: $7.98

A light, creamy berry tea. There is definitely a sweetness to this one, very unlike the stevia or cane sugar flavours in other blends. The sweetness comes from the sweet blackberry leaves, which I’ve found are a welcome addition to all of my favourite fruity herbal blends. The flavour of Blackberry Blizzard is reminiscent of multi-berry or wild berry yogurt, as the tea has a creaminess to it (I’m assuming this is from the artificial flavouring).

It’s like Berry Poppins with about half the hibiscus. Since there’s less hibiscus the other flavors come through more, so it’s fruitier and creamier than Berry Poppins. It’s delicious cold or iced. I think I like it more than Berry Poppins because the hibiscus isn’t overpowering the other ingredients. I purchased 100g on a whim, and I will probably buy more before the end of summer.

It pairs really nicely with Queen of Tarts on those mornings when I need that extra boost a maté tea provides.

This tea ROCKS. It smells great and tastes even better. It is a sweet tea, but I love it. I can definitely taste the berry-ness. It has something else that I can quite pin point-maybe berry sorbet or ice cream kind of. Anyways, this is great and I will definitely be getting more of this tea!

I’m having this one mixed with my other favourite – Frozen Raspberry, and it’s SO good. Greatest combo I’ve put together!

Welp – no easy way to say it but there are a TON of teas that were officially announced as being retired by the end of April. I will get a tasting note up for each one so that there’s an entry here on Steepster officially confirming each has been retired (as I usually do), but seeing as this announcement has basically been dubbed the “Red Wedding” of tea retirements it’ll probably take me longer than usual…

I’m going to post the lists here too though – just as a placeholder until each tasting note is up. This announcement is a little bit different anyway, as there are some teas being retired in both Canada and in the United States but also a few teas that will only be retired in one of the two countries. Also, everything will be online for a while – so there should be time to stock up online if you’re not able to make it in to a store right away. There are a couple teas here that I’m pretty upset about just personally speaking, but knowing some of the rational behind the decisions has helped me to mentally process a bit. There were also just so many teas on the wall that people honestly just couldn’t keep track of them…

So without further ado…

These teas will be retiring ONLY in the US:
- Jasmine Creme Brulee
- Raspberry Cream Pie
- English Toffee

These teas will be retiring ONLY in Canada:
- Strawberry Matcha
- Midsummer Night’s Dream
- Blackberry Blizzard
- Jasmine Black Pearls
- Honeycrisp Apple
- The Glow
- La La Lemon

These teas are retiring in BOTH Canada and in the US:
- Turmeric Glow
- Strawberry Colada
- Long Life Oolong
- Ginger Pear
- Pura Vida
- Chocolate Rocket
- Seaberry Spa
- Grapefruit Granita
- Honeydew Matcha
- Bear Trap
- Guava Cadabra
- Live Wire Lemon
- Toasted Walnut
- Cherry Blossom
- Happy Kombucha
- Dream On
- Mint Matcha
- Sweet Ginger Heat
- Mighty Aphrodite
- Guayusa
- Kenyan Tinderet
- Silken Pu’erh

So, there’s that…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

I’ve been looking for this list all over DT’s socials and you’re the first one to post it. So so sad about Happy Kombucha and Guava Cadabra, but GUTTED about Jasmine Creme Brûlée.

Roswell Strange

The ones that hurt the most for me personally were Mighty Aphrodite, The Glow, Bear Trap, and Strawberry Matcha – but definitely a tough list to look at.

tea-sipper

Disregard my previous question about retiring teas.. didn’t see this!

Kittenna

That is quite the list! The teas that would make me most sad are on the US list… so shouldn’t be an issue. Wooo!

Lexie Aleah

I’m really sad about Bear Trap. It makes an amazing iced tea/tea pop.

Roswell Strange

Just a head’s up to all that this list has been updated since my first posting to reflect some new annoucements as well as a few teas I missed over the last few months…
