1113 Tasting Notes
My afternoon tea is also a swap from My Friend Rashad! (thanks again!) The black tea base on this one is very earthy (almost too earthy for me) with a punch-you-in-the-face fruit flavor on top. Drinkable but not going on my shopping list or anything.
I’m not a real big fan of this tea hot :( I’ve tried it twice and its just not my thing. I think I’m going to like it better iced in the summer (I hope!) I usually love green teas and anything from Butiki. Not sure what my problem is!
Bleh, I think I’m going to have to dump out my mug :( Anyone who likes this one and wants to swap I’ve got almost an ounce of it!
awe that’s so sad. I think Raritea was looking to purchase some of this, so she might be interested in a swap.
I’m really glad I was accidentally sent extra samples of this tea because #1 this is only my 2nd Pu-er EVER (the first being some “season’s pick” puer fannings from Upton) so I’m still figuring out pu-ers, and #2 I had an allergy attack (sneezing fit) halfway through my steepings and my taste buds are a bit deadened from not being able to smell right now. I’m on steep #4 right now and it has been fun to notice differences between the steeps. I steeped according to the workshops recommendation. Thanks Verdant for offering tea of the month trials! :)
Wow, this tea is intense (in a good way!) Thanks so much to Piccolo and Teajo for the sample! I love the deep rich assam with the assertive mango flavor. I am enjoying it hot but I’m sure it will be wonderful iced, too. It is an interesting contrast to the peach oolong I had earlier today, too, heh.
This one sounds awesome. yum.
