1113 Tasting Notes
This tea was my first exposure to a genmaicha, so I really have no idea how it rates compared to others of this type. When I tried it the flavor seemed VERY strange at first but by the time I finished the cup I was hooked! It is very satisfying somehow, and one of the few teas I am willing to drink unsweetened.
I really didn’t expect to like this tea. Banana flavored black tea? It just SOUNDS so wrong! A friend of mine convinced me to try it and I am glad SO glad she did!
It tastes very strongly of both bananas and chocolate YUM, but the black tea notes although subtle, are definitely detectable and seem in perfect harmony with the banana pie flavoring! I love to drink this one hot and with a little sugar as a dessert or snack tea. One of my top favorites!
This might be one of my favorite teas of all time! Everything about it is pleasing. The beautiful velvety silver needle white tea leaves, the fluffy pink amaranth, the juicy scent, and the delicate natural fruity sweet taste! I’m hooked :)
I’ve really liked everything I’ve gotten from Butiki, especially anything with a white or green tea base. Outstanding teas!!
