Yummm! While today was a sunny and happy spring day, I surprisingly decided to go with a comforting winter tea. I have just a little of it left, and I think it isn’t being sold anymore, so I’m trying to spare it, but every cup reminds me why I had gathered a provision of it! The chai taste is totally there (by that, I mean the Indian spices; cardamom, ginger, etc. For some reason, DAVIDsTEA has a bunch of “chai” teas that have none of these spices, which I always found curious), but add to that a sweet fruity taste (there are some huge blueberries in there!). For even more depth, the peppercorn can be most tasted in the aftertaste, when a little spicy hint comes at your tongue, not too strongly. I am a fan of chai in general, and this one is no exception. While it doesn’t have any actual tea in it, it actually opens the possibility of adding your own and creating some awesome chai blends. But it’s great just like that too. No milk, no sugar!
Preparation
The first time I drank this tea, I oversteeped it and found the lavender taste to be really overwhelming, to the point where it wasn’t nice (though I generally like lavender). So this time around, I steeped it just the right amount of time (thank you, Breville!), and the result is a lot more satisfying. Actually, there’s two distinct movements to drinking that tea for me: first, when I take a sip, the blend of lavender and green tea is mellow, smoothing, definitely well harmonized – a true pleasure that tastes really different from the more standard teas. Then, the aftertaste comes, in which the lavender taste isn’t delicate anymore, but just all over the place, and leaves this not-too-pleasant taste in my throat. The upside is that facing this not-too-pleasant taste, I quickly reach for my cup to take another sip and enjoy the awesome taste I get at the start.
So all in all, it’s really hard to give a rating to the tea. I’d give 94 for the first taste, and 35 for the aftertaste. I guess I’ll go with something in between (closer to the 90s than 30s though because really, it does taste really good as you take a sip).
Preparation
I took my younger sister to DAVIDsTEA today to grab a cup to enjoy and we spent the hour sniffing away at their medley of flavours, the one in particular that caught her attention when she got a whiff was Mint Chocolate Rooibos tea. It was prepared and we sat outside to enjoy our tea, she spent minutes upon minutes just smelling the tea, giving her "Mmm"s and "Aahh"s at the tea’s scent. She would dip her stir stick in and taste the tea off the stick and was extremely delighted with it’s flavour, but when it came to actually drinking it, it became disgusting. I too found the scent amazing, at first I was skeptical about it, but it’s aroma was so magnetic, but I was right, I tried it afterwards, it’s not necessarily to die for…
The aroma itself is enough to melt you down to half your height, the first time I held that tea in my hands, I kid you not, about fifteen to twenty minutes was spent breathing in the redolance that is Crème Caramel Rooibos Tea. The taste took me beyond it’s scent; the Rooisbos was definately present, along with the milky flavour and the sweet sugary-creamy taste of caramel as well, and yet it felt like they all hit you on their own, not one disgusting blend like you find in sickening pops such as Dr. Pepper, each flavour had it’s own identity and yet once they made it to my palette on their own they could work together and send my taste buds soaring. I definitely recommend this tea.
Preparation
I enjoyed this tea. Best with honey or milk.

This tea has a nice caramel type smell. The taste is like a mix of rooibos and green tea taste which is okay but not really dessert-like. So this tea is okay but not as tastey as I expected given the description. Worth a try though.
Preparation
This is the first loose tea I bought for my mom (because she can only drink decaf) and she loves it! She recently bought more because she drinks it every night to help her fall sound asleep. I drink this as well, but I drink “Mother’s Little Helper” more, every night… both are herbal teas from DAVIDsTea :)
Preparation
I made a pot of this tea, cozied up with a cup, and then read that it’s supposed to be enjoyed iced… woops! I like this tea hot though too, sweetened. It’s very light and fruity. Tastes girly. ;) Not to mention the pretty peachy pink color.
This sounds awesome! I had never heard about it.
Yeah! I’m pretty sure it was from last year’s winter collection… I guess it’s about time I finish it, but I like it so much, I don’t want it to end!
