S’mores Chai

The flavor is light, but very good. Taste like s’mores, slightly smoky flavor.

Tastes like spicy hot chocolate.

Really enjoyed this tea. It smells wonderful and tastes like chocolatey-coffee-spicy goodness! I added a tiny bit of honey, but it had a light sweetness on it’s own. Really nice fall/colder weather tea.

The smell of this tea before brewing will take you back to happy campfire days!

I will admit it… I bought this tea because it was new and the idea of tea that taste like s’mores is amazing.
Once steeped, the smell is still delicious but changes from pure s’mores to more of a rustic fall time chocolate smell… still very nice. The taste is not as strong of a s’mores smell as I was originally hoping for. I definitely get a chocolaty chai taste with hints of graham crackers and an almost smokey taste that you would get from a roasted marshmallow. Instead of a straight marshmallow taste I get more of a nice subtle creaminess.
This tea has some nice sweetness too it, but enough flavors with the sweetness that cut in and prevent it from becoming too sweet. I prefer it at a warmer temperature rather than hot, the flavors are stronger in my opinion.

To me this is the perfect tea to bring me from summer campfires to fall walks in the park.

I decided to try this tea just because of the name hoping that it really tastes like s’mores. Well, it did not disappoint! It has a nice light coffee like flavor as well as a s’mores flavor. It’s a pu-erh tea but not heavy or too strong in flavor. The flavors all play very well together. The longer you steep this tea, the stronger it gets, without becoming bitter. I steep 7 minutes for a lighter flavor and 8 minutes for a stronger cup. Honey really brings out the flavor. In my opinion, it does not need milk. It is one of my go to teas. It’s one I like to sip on after dinner. Reminds me of a dessert. Totally LOVE this one.

Really wasn’t expecting the robust flavor this tea has but could immediately taste it from the very first sip. It has a warm depth to it that would naturally compliment autumn, a rainy day, or a late night. I’m impressed and will be buying more as my sample only has enough for two cups.

So, when I first tried this tea about a year ago, I really didn’t like it. I couldn’t quite understand the fuss. This is another one that came in a DT set that I got because I couldn’t wait for a couple of the new teas to be released separately. I was dreading making this, because I remembered disliking it before. But, I went ahead and got it over with. However, this time I actually love it! I mainly get graham cracker, with a bit of a white chocolate flavor, and a very subtle marshmallow. I added a tiny bit of oat milk and I’m very much enjoying it. I actually think I’ll be grabbing some at the Black Friday sale.

Last time I said I couldn’t really taste the chai side of this tea, I am really tasting it now…. haha or maybe I’m learning what “chai spices” are from all this tea drinking! Im still in love with this one… I started my second summertime job today and I wanted something that would be delicious the whole day…. so I steeped s’mores chai in one mug, and I steeped white chocolate chai in my other mug that stays hot all day! I guess it’s a chai kind of day today!

It smells…indulgent. I’m very curious to see how pu-erh will function as a chai base – I’ve had black and oolong (both were quite satisfactory), but this will be a first.

On a side note, I’ve been experimenting with making low-carb blueberry muffins…and (objectively speaking) they’re really quite terrible. I don’t know why I’m this bad at muffins – I can make biscuits for days, but my muffins are always just sweet biscuits with blueberries in. Sweet, gritty biscuits. :/

As to the tea? I’m not sure I enjoy pu erh as a base for sweetness; it just comes across as slightly discordant. There was mild chocolate and graham, but the chai was a quiet backnote…which wasn’t what I was expecting at all.

I have enough for one more brew, so I’m going to try it again with different expectations later.

Tea flavour comes through nicely. The flavouring is a bit muddled in the sweetness-mostly tastes like sweetened light pu’er tea. I’m not detecting a distinctly “s’mores” profile. Hint of toastiness.
