From DAVIDsTEA

Ever hear that Quebeckers are obsessed with maple syrup? Well, it’s true. In our Montreal office, it’s not unusual to find people pouring it into their morning oatmeal, over fresh fruit and, of course, into their tea. It adds a hint of warmth and sweetness that’s totally unbeatable. So it was only a matter of time before we came out with this all-natural, maple-sweetened tea. With black tea, apple, cinnamon and real pieces of maple sugar, it’s a warming hug on a fall day – and a delicious taste of Quebec. (MK Kosher)

Price per 50g: $8.98

Thankfully I had Reeses Puff flavored milk during breakfast to wash this down with… this might be a dry rub mislabeled as tea; David you should look into that, maple sugar ribs are good!
:p

Dry rub! Now I have absolutely zero interest in ever trying this haha.

Are you sure this is tea and not maple sap sugar? Basically that would be maple sap boiled into a sugar form rather than maple syrup. Maple sugar is sold as a sweetener either loose or in cake form.

I agree with a lot of the things said in other reviews. This tea is pretty unremarkable. It does have that awful cinnamon taste that many David’s Tea blends have. Don’t get me wrong…..I LOVE cinnamon and chai teas, but it is the cinnamon that David’s Tea uses that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And this tea is no exception. I would not say, as some other reviewers have said, that this is the worst tea that I have ever tasted or that it is awful, but there is a something in there that I do not like and the aftertaste is just not good. I would not pick up more of this.

Nope. Nope. Nope.
This does not taste anything like maple. Or sugar. Or maple sugar. Not sure if it’s the monk fruit or what but the taste… I don’t think I’ve ever disliked any tea as strongly as this :(

I had a sample of this, and I am glad to have tried it. Maple sugar sounds like the exact kind of flavor I would love, as I love maple sugar. But this didn’t taste all that great – artificial, mostly. I wouldn’t get a bigger size, and I would probably rehome any future samples I got for some reason. It wasn’t awful or undrinkable though. Perhaps I need to stop going for maple teas.

Let the tasting of the new teas begin! Ones that I bought but haven’t gotten to try…

I added too much milk to this one… I’m going to have to redo this one soon. Also, shouldn’t have added any sugar. The cinnamon is good in it and I’m getting the maple, but again, I shouldn’t have loaded it up the way I did.

Either way, I am enjoying this one. I feel like it’s very similar to Caramel Spice (I think that’s the one anyways).

The enticing smell and taste of this tea reminds me of dark times. Maybe it’s because it’s a black tea with a strong taste of cinnamon and maple and everything Canadian it reminds me of. It just reminds me of the sun setting on snowy days where it’s getting colder and darker.

Books recommended for this tea are: Under The Skin by Michel Faber, Needful Things by Stephen King, 2666 by Roberto Bolano

This one does smell like maple syrup, but more than that, like apple and cinnamon—in fact, it reminds me of oatmeal with apples and cinnamon added, and just a drizzling of syrup. After brewing, the maple emerges more, and I found the flavor to be very heavy on the syrup sweetness. The tea base is fairly decent, but it gets overpowered by the flavors. I do appreciate that there were no artificial flavors listed in the ingredients. Thanks to beelicious for the sample!

I really do not like this tea. It smells really better than it taste. I’m glad it’s gone.

Day #17 of tea! A holdover from the fall collection. I’m not quite sure what to make of this one, it’s good, but I think it needs more spices. It’s sweeter than I remembered, though I added milk to my mug this time, so that’s probably not helping my thought process there, haha. This definitely reminds me of fall, though, so it’s a nice nostalgic tea for today.
