How it tastes
Very potent and soothing
Sweet hot ginger taste, with extra spice from the peppercorns

It’s caffeine-free, so you can heal fast and still enjoy a good night’s sleep.

What makes it great

• It’s the ultimate throat soother – and it’s caffeine-free so you can drink it at night and still get your rest.

There’s something rather medicinal about this tea with all of the spicy ginger goodness to it. I found it very soothing on the throat and a nice clearing sensation to the sinuses even though I don’t have a cold or any real stuffiness. I’ve been having it towards the end of my day throughout this week and it has an excellent settling sensation to the body. Quite pleasant indeed.

Oh, I love this one. I don’t have it in my collection though because I have two herbal spice teas and I’m trying to save money :(

I hear you! Tea can be quite the expensive hobby.

Tried it again, tastes less like dirt… or maybe I’m just getting used to it. Added a little honey as well.

I like this one! I’m kind of surprised that I like this one, I’m not really a huge ginger fan but I was searching for something calming and soothing and spicy in the same time and this one was just what I needed. It’s not something that I would reach for on a normal day, but for a cold day when I’m feeling blue it’s perfect. I will keep it in my cupboard for days like today.

I steeped this for way too long! Which I don’t mind, because I like spicy teas. However, my fiance makes the BEST ginger tea that puts all ginger teas to shame. We had an awesome ginger tea at Keefaa Ethiopian cafe in Toronto and he tried to emulate it at home – and it is SO GOOD. Ginger, cinnamon, lime juice, a bunch of other stuff – basically what I’m trying to say is I hold ginger teas to a very high standard now. This one is good, I just wish there was less pepper in it – I think it’s more balanced when I actually steep it for the right amount of time. Oops. For a store-bought ginger tea it’s still decent though, even with the oversteeping. I might add a squeeze of lemon next time I steep it.

Drank this today because I am feeling pretty crappy – sick with a bad cold. This really cleared my sinuses which I liked and I was actually impressed with how nice it tasted.

I got this tea in the 12 Days of Tea package this Christmas! I finished up the little tin today (I got three cups of it from the little tin! I was so surprised!) and I figured I would review it.

I like this tea, but I only like it when it is really strong. I found that even after 10 minutes of sitting in the water it still seemed quite weak. I had this in a travel mug so I didn’t take my tea bag out. After about a half an hour of steeping I enjoyed it a lot more.

This tea isn’t wowing me, but it isn’t awful. The ginger flavor comes through and it also has kind of a sweet undertone. Reminds me of honey maybe? I’m not sure. Overall I would definitely drink this again, but I won’t be stocking up on it. It’s a little too…plain? I love ginger in tea, and like I said this is yummy, but it doesn’t knock my socks off. I think that it might be the rooibos that I’m not overly fond of. I’m still learning what I like haha! Maybe I would have enjoyed this a bit more with some sweetener!

There are other ginger teas from DT that I would drink over this one, but this isn’t that bad.

This spicy tea might be a new favorite of mine. This tea made me realize that I really like the taste of ginger. I initially tried this tea to help with a stomach ache, it helped calm my stomach while providing a nice tasty treat! Thanks to meganxpink for sharing.

It just tastes like ginger and pepper, which is exactly what I want it to taste like! The green rooibos gives it a nice colour and some depth as well.

When my tummy is rebelling or I feel a twinge of a cold coming on, I make 3 cups of this and knock it right out! The ginger is definitely front and center: as powerful as you’ll get without slicing the fresh root yourself. The other spices compliment it well, and it’s a great tea to make in the evening, when I don’t want any caffeine. Included in the Cold Survival Kit of 2014-2015.
