64 Tasting Notes
While there were many samples I wanted to try, I decided to brew this one first. I like that it is not a straight black tea, as I feel it would overwhelm the flavors of the tea. I find it enjoyable, but it’s not one of my favorites. I get creamy coconut notes, but light on buttery notes from the while chocolate. The addition of a touch of cream was helpful in bringing out the flavors. Thank you VariaTEA for the sample!
Preparation
Don’t you just hate it when you feel like you’re coming down with something, but you’re not fully sure until the next day? I discovered the benefit of eating raw garlic during my last cold, as it dramatically decreased it’s severity. I decided to begin last night before bed, just in case I was right. Unfortunately I was and I awoke with a fun sore throat. Yay! Luckily it has not gotten worse, but I am still loading up on water, bone broth, garlic, and tea. I received the cold survival kit the last time I was sick, but never opened it until now.
The dry smell of this tea is delicious! It mainly smells of almond. Then again, tree nuts are a staple in my diet, so this tea is up my alley. Brewed, it is a very mellow tea that is lightly sweet and well rounded. Nothing that is strong in flavor, which is perfect at the moment. I taste a bit of licorice, though I am not sure if I taste much of the goji berries. Even so, this is definitely making me happy at the moment and I will enjoy this tea until it’s out.
Preparation
I was so excited to see this tea in my mystery swap, as I’ve always wanted to try a milk oolong! The smell of it steeping is heavenly; it is a bit vegetal, yet buttery. I am happy that this tea is living up to what I imagined it to be! It’s mild, comforting, and creamy. I can’t wait to see what other flavors unfold as the cup cools! Thank you TeaTiff for sharing this special tea with me. Now I think I’m hooked!
Preparation
I’ve been meaning to sample this tea for quite some time now. I forgot about it for a little bit and then discovered it again. I am sure glad I found it in my cupboard! The flavors work perfectly together. The main note is a creamy orange with a hint of chocolate. Very nice on a very cold evening such as this. I plan on enjoying this tea on occasion when the mood strikes. Thank you MissB!
Preparation
I have been on hiatus for a bit, because I graduated with my bachelors! Now I have to find a job and begin the process for grad school applications. Oh joy!
So I wouldn’t have purchased this tea, except for the fact that I did so in order to make apple spiced donuts out of it. I will be making them within the next week or so for a care package, so I figured I should try drinking it before possibly ruining an entire recipe (baking grain and sugar free can get pricy)! I am happy to say that this tea is actually delicious! It has a true apple flavor with spices. It kind of reminds me of mulled cider, which is something I have not had in years! I bought a few more boxes in case I needed an apple fix or my donuts come out good. :-)
Preparation
I like this tea, but I am not crazy about it. The dry scent is primarily apple with a hint of cinnamon. For some reason, I’m getting a plastic-type aftertaste. Maybe it was the way I made it? I’ll have to try it again later.
Preparation
This tea is so good! I made it as a latte and it was very reminiscent of the dessert. As happy as I am with this, I wish I would have made something with caffeine. I am trying my best to write a paper and study for finals tomorrow. Only two more weeks before graduation! Yay!! :-)
Preparation
This was another tea purchased on black Friday and I am not disappointed in this one. The dry smell is sweet and spicy; it reminds me of the holidays! It brewed wonderfully, though I felt this needed a touch of sweetener. I can taste the plum along with the spices, while the black tea base is more mellow. I cannot imagine drinking this one everyday, but I am happy to have it around this time of the year! Now to try to force myself to start my paper and discussion boards that are due tomorrow. :-/
Preparation
Holy tea, Batman! I’ve been waiting for several things to arrive in the mail and today nearly everything was delivered at once. A swap finally came in along with my black Friday Della Terra order. I am literally swamped with tea, but this is a good thing!
I could not decide which tea to make first, but this tea smelled heavenly. The dry smell is balanced with apple, molasses, and spices. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this tea due to some of the reviews, but am glad I did. While it is not a strong tea, it is nice and cozy. The apple is very present with a hint of spice and a roundness from the molasses. I took this with sweetener and a touch of cream to bring out of the flavors. The cream along with sweetener definitely helped bring out some of the other flavors. Overall, I am happy with this tea and am glad I purchased it. One tea down, a ton more to go! :-)
Preparation
Oh the holiday crunch… not only do I have one more paper to complete until my break has officially started, but I also promised my neighbor I would cut and color her hair! Not only does she have a lot of hair, but my timing isn’t what it used to be when I worked as a hair stylist full time. Oh well, I will review this tea and finish the paper that is due in 3-ish hours!
I’m not crazy about mint teas, unless there are other flavors to balance them out. This tea is delicious! It’s not overpowered by mint and the chocolate comes through nicely. I don’t think I could drink this every day, but this would be wonderful on occasion. I would probably write more, but I am nearly done with this darn paper and I cannot wait to get a full nights sleep! Thank you Courtney!
Glad you enjoyed it.
