Tuesday 04/20 — DT Orange Glow mini single serving tin. Made this hot & plain drank warm/room temp & plain early AM 4/20. Very old tea did not steep for long cause I was in a rush to get to work my Monday overnight shift… hopefully the rest I have in bags/larger tins etc. in my basement will taste better, remember being a fan.

Kiki:

“Ohh orange! Orange candy. Here, try it.”

Oof, that’s not for me!

“Too much orange peel? Smells kinda like cat butt, though.”

There’s one flavor I got right off the bat besides the orange (beet-carrot).

“Is it a creamsicle?”

No, it’s not quite a concept tea.

“Oh it’s orange. Is it like a French one?”

No, not quite.

“Lemongrass. Everytime I smell it, I smell a little cat butt. talking to my old girl on her lap Kinda like yours. I like your cat butt. Is there a little clove in there? You know how much I love clove. I like it, though. I like the vibrant orange. Kinda makes your tongue burn a little bit. There’s the cat butt again. I kinda like the cat butt smell. cackles Is that cinnamon in there, cinnamon? It’s like drinking juice. I finished it, I like it. 8.5, maybe a 9.”

Oh?

“Yeah, uh-huh. See, I don’t drink juice anymore, so anytime I can drink burp something that tastes like juice, I go for it. burp Mhm, so sweet. Is there sugar in there? SO what is it?”

Orange Glow. I rattle off the ingredients.

“Natural orange flavoriiiing… why can’t they use the orange peel?”

There is orange peel in it.

“That’s it. Thank you, Cameron. Can I send you some pot? cackles Okay.”

DrowningMySorrows

Mmm cat butt tea! Kiki’s descriptions always make me giggle.

Mastress Alita

What are you feeding your cat to get lemongrass-scented butt?!

Leafhopper

LOL! I’m not sure I’d give a cat butt tea a nine.

gmathis

(Note to self) Time to go buy some potted catnip and lemongrass.

ashmanra

Well, I do have a beverage waiting to be tried that we agree smells like “beach bathroom plus extra hint of sand with decaying crab.”

derk

My longtime friend https://steepster.com/visigoth just sent me a singing voice message in the tune of that Folgers Coffee jingle: “The best part of waking up is cat butt in your cup.” You’ve been caught lurking my reviews, friend!

Todd

Hahaha, that is beautiful.

Sipdown! 132/365!

Actually a pretty tasty tea, though I had only about a 4oz cup’s worth left and may not have had the right mix of ingredients. A nice, bright, juicy orange flavour, with no pithy bitterness. A possible orange juice substitute for someone looking for that strong, delicious citrus flavour without all the sugar; it didn’t need sweetener to be delicious. I’d pick this up again as a fruity option in a heartbeat!

ETA: I will note that I picked up no carrot; that could be the small amount of leaf I used having an impact.

I scored a box of the sachets with all of the DT 2017 “Harvest Collection” and honestly-I like most of the collection which surprises me. Love the wild strawberry & the pear blossom too. The current wellness line is meh.
I am having this hot right now…I added the smallest amount of Torani vanilla syrup- yum. The carrot is not overpowering like it is in the turmeric glow. So this gets a thumbs up!

Grabbed this one as my free tea just because it smelled good. Packaged it up for work, and ended up using it as a travel tea. I think I might be getting better at discerning by smell what I’ll like and not like, because I’m really enjoying this one. At its best, it tastes like a orange creamsicle to me. The orange is definitely the strongest flavor, but I’m loving the creamy undertones to this one.

I’m having this one hot tonight… I think I like it better iced. I’m tasting orange and carrot. Not a big fan of the carrot though. This is just okay.

Another sample…

Yikes. So, this reminds me of those fruit and vegetable juices. Y’know, the kind that are bottled by Naked or Bolthouse Farms. I feel like Tropicana had a line too. Anyway, if carrot juice is your jam and you like some citrus thrown into the mix, this is the tea for you. I took one sip against my better judgment and burped carrots for about an hour afterward. Fun times. I didn’t notice any pumpkin flavor; it was all carrot and orange for me with a very slight hint of ginger. That said, I did just have one small sip. Sadly, that was all I could manage. Sort of like a carrot cake minus the cake…so, basically, a carrot-orange-ginger juice.

Made it as a iced tea and it was pretty good (especially considering I don’t like many iced teas) Got it as a sample in an online order, but I probably wouldn’t buy more of it since it wasn’t extremely amazing to me. But overall not too bad.

First of all, this tea smells amazing! Fresh oranges with a hint of carrot and ginger. The taste is crisp and light, oranges with no after taste. Although this tea is pleasant, I will admit I was hoping for a stronger flavor profile.

Another daunting day of interviews that started earlier than any human should be actually thinking after a long vacation. Thankfully today was not planned to be as busy as yesterdays adventures were. It did start with an early interview at 8 am.

I got this tea as a sample with a recent online order (I wish they gave these out in store when we bought items in person), and since I was looking to try something new this morning I opted to put it into a teabag for my travel mug.

Dried it has a very sweet orange aroma. It brews a deep red colour with a ginger and pumpkin scent. I absolutely loved the taste of this since it reminds me of my favourite season and eating cooked pumpkin at dinner (yes I eat it like squash and put it in pies and cakes and cookies… I digress into thoughts of fall).

Sad part about all of this, I need to make this part of my shopping list because I need more than just a sample cup, I need many days of this tea in my life.
