Gawd I love this tea. I do however prefer it hot over cold, like I’m having it today. More coconutty than anything, although the thick cream feel is still there.

Flavors: Coconut, Pumpkin, Thick

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 8 min or more 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML
Suziqzer

Hmm…Pumpkin and coconut? Sounds like yum :)

I want to love this tea. Many of my tea frienz love this tea. Me? It’s just okay. Coconut, I get. Chocolate, not so much. Thick, for sure. But just missing any depth of flavor that I long for. It’s on the tip of my tongue and that’s it, and these days I expect so much more from a tea.

I think (?) I grabbed this in a joint order about this time last year. Jeepers. Time to start seriously sipping things down if this is the first time I’ve reached for it.

Flavors: Coconut, Cream, Paper, Thick

Been drinking this a lot lately, thanks to JustJames via the SSTTB. It’s orangey, tangy and with only a hint of tulsi, I’m really, really enjoying this bag. I’ll be through it awfully fast the way I’m going.

I remember this being my favorite (or close to it) chai ever… and today it’s just meh. Meh? I splurged and grabbed a lot of this. Just meh? No. No…..

Flavors: Cardamom, Chocolate, Nutmeg

Hm. I wonder if this is better as cold steep. It’s okay like this (hot) but nowhere near an 80 rating. I think perhaps my attitude needs some adjusting though today, so I’ll just leave it as-is for now. Getting mostly mango this time around, which is nice.

Flavors: Apple, Floral, Mango

Preparation

I love anything Rocky Horror themed, and I think this is the second tea by the same name I’ve tried. Miss roswellstrange sent it in a surprise package, and let me tell you – it made my day! Hell, my week. :)

As for the tea itself, it’s just okay, sadly. Wasn’t a fan of the base, and it kinda tasted like a mud pie with some pumpkin pie spice in it. Which, if it was a puerh, I’d think it interesting and notable, but this literally was too muddy for me to really enjoy.

It’s the thought that matters though, right? Of course! And so I sip happily with this surprise tea gift, knowing someone cared enough to send it along my way.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Mud, Nutmeg

Hooray! I’m happy they’re making it to people :)

drank Salted Caramel by DAVIDsTEA

No salt, other than maybe in the form of dryness. A bit of caramel, which is reminiscent of something ooey gooey, but just not enough – for me, anyway. It’s not a bad tea, but it’s just not the one for me today.

Flavors: Caramel, Drying

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 2 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

This was one of the first teas I ever bought from DAVIDs. I had such high hopes for it, because SALT! and CARAMEL! but I was pretty unimpressed. I wonder if anyone makes a good salted caramel tea, cause I’ve yet to try one.

MissB

I think the salt would just get enveloped into the drink itself – like any other salted caramel drink. Instead, do it up like Starbucks? Make the tea, then add a dollop of cream and salt on top.

Somewhere in my house I have a previous incarnation of this brew, and for the life of me I can’t find it. So instead I’m having a cup from whomever so generously put it in the SSTTB, and while I do love it (licorice! excellent puerh!) it’s just not all that I’d hoped for. Sure, it’s really nice, and high quality, I just thought it would be… more.

Flavors: Earth, Licorice

I’ve got a hoarded supply of this tea, and although it’s tasty, it’s not quite the same as the original incarnation.

Sil

no..first incarnation of this was amaaaaazing…. since then it’s just been sort of “meh”

Terri HarpLady

Still drinkable, probably good for your digestion, but a mere shadow of itself. Which proves the saying, “if you change one thing, everything changes”.
I still have a small stash of yanxin’s reserve, which I think was the original puerh this was made with. Maybe I’ll throw a small chunk in the nest time I drink it, & see if it helps.

Loving this even more tonight. I’ve learned: the spices in the black version are almost identical, and only pop if you oversteep/steep it longer than I ever want to with a base like DAVIDs’ uses. Also, less heat is better. Still slightly smoky (in a good way — not in a lapsang way) almost like burnt sugar pumpkin cream. It’s definitely better as a latte, but still decadent as-is. I must buy more.

200 °F / 93 °C 8 min or more 2 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML

Hm. Interesting, complex tea. There’s a creaminess along with a hint of thyme and oregano, plus an added sweetness. Having a hard time pinpointing this one. I want to say it’s like a rosee sauce (cream, oregano, tomato) minus the tomato? Perhaps like a curry with thyme and oregano, saffron? I don’t get it. I like it? I think. Just because it’s so unusual, and quite, well, yes, tasty.

Flavors: Cream, Saffron, Thyme

Bio

A few years ago, the obsession with tea started. The cupboard got bigger and bigger, more swaps occurred, group buys, secret rendezvous with local teapassionistas… and that’s how you end up with 500+ different kinds of tea in your home. At one time.

Almost all of the tea was given away, sold, or otherwise shared. A few relics still remain. I now travel full time with only two carryon bags to my name. One quarter of those bags are tea.

It’s still a challenge to avoid the chipmunk-like hoarding of The Teas, yet, the lightness of being from having so little compels me more.

If I have enough, I’m happy to share. If I’m in your area, I’d love to swap, meet for tea, and explore together.

As for the day-to-day stuff, I’m focused almost entirely on Love, (yes, with a capital L), Spirit/Self, transformation, travel and my writing and speaking work.

What kinds of teas do I normally like?

YES: flavored teas, fruity, dessert, chai, and spicy (REALLY spicy).

A FONDNESS FOR: all white teas, malty black teas, any herbal or medicinal teas, strange/weird teas you can only get in one place.

ALLERGIC TO: strawberries, lavender

DISLIKES: any added sugars, grains, lapsang souchong, and overly floral teas – I might enjoy a Jasmine Green every once in a while, but unless it’s a creamy floral tea (think roses in a chai, or the smoothness of a floral note in a French tea), I’ll likely pass. Earl Greys are a hit or miss with me; heavy on the cream or fruit notes and I might like it, heavy on the blergamot and I definitely won’t.
