84 Tasting Notes

10g, approx. 100ml
Tightly compressed smallish leaves which rested for a bit after rinsing.
Wet leaf smells like mossy wood, spice and ample smoke.
Taste is like smooth wood, menthol/camphor?, smoke and a hint of dark fruit in the background. Both sweet and bitter.
Steeped several infusions and saved leaf for another time.
Very nice, and am really happy to have been given this to try! :)

Spring 2016 harvest
I have had this in the past and had found it slightly savory, but this harvest is pure sweetness. It has the aroma of freshly cut hay, and tastes of corn, sweet tiny peas and floral melon. A lovely and delicate, airy nectar.
Brewed lightly in teapot, which was perfect.

Wet leaf reminds me of an old abandoned, falling down barn with perfectly clean sun-bleached wood.
Taste is very sweet and smooth with a dark forest woodiness. So nice!!!

Thank you dear teafriend for sharing this sample!

Autumn 2015 harvest
Tastes of sweet potato, honey and malt, spice and floral. A hearty and satisfying cup when brewed strong, which also brings out some tannins in the cup.

Spring 2016
Dry leaf has the scent of sweet and salty dry-roasted green peas which carries over into the wet leaf and brewed tea. Leaf is moss green and fluffy.
Brewed tea color is yellow. Taste is salty, vegetal and slightly nutty. Extremely tasty and flavorful, although it isn’t my favorite.

Vegetal, floral bitterness and some fruity earthiness; tingly astringency with lingering sweetness. Later steeps become creamy sweet throughout.

Beautiful. Sweet notes of dried fruit/raisin, chocolate/malt/rye bread with the very tiniest hint of floral earthiness. Smooth and flavorful.
