Somewhere in my house I have a previous incarnation of this brew, and for the life of me I can’t find it. So instead I’m having a cup from whomever so generously put it in the SSTTB, and while I do love it (licorice! excellent puerh!) it’s just not all that I’d hoped for. Sure, it’s really nice, and high quality, I just thought it would be… more.

I’ve got a hoarded supply of this tea, and although it’s tasty, it’s not quite the same as the original incarnation.
no..first incarnation of this was amaaaaazing…. since then it’s just been sort of “meh”
Still drinkable, probably good for your digestion, but a mere shadow of itself. Which proves the saying, “if you change one thing, everything changes”.
I still have a small stash of yanxin’s reserve, which I think was the original puerh this was made with. Maybe I’ll throw a small chunk in the nest time I drink it, & see if it helps.
