171 Tasting Notes
I left my favourite timolino at work the other day and needed a tea fix on the way. I used to drink this ALL the time, might as well have just hooked me up to an IV. However, this time around all I tasted was hot paper. I finished it, only because I told myself it was all in my head. People at work laughed at me when I told them I had one, they didn’t believe me.
I’ve noticed that with all the oolongs I have tried Verdant has the most fragrant ones. I just brewed a cup of this and I’m waiting for it to cool and the smell is lovely. Nutty and a little sweet. I’m the worst at describing flavours. I’m only on the first steep and I love it.
I often do that. Since the first steep is the steep I will always get to. It’s not like the rating can’t be changed later if something happens in later steeps that warrants a bump up or down.
I LOVE getting orders in the mail. Make my day, the worst part was having it arrive while i was at work yesterday and not being able to have any until this morning! Torture!
I felt like I couldn’t figure this cup out. It was everything it promised, but I could pick a predominant flavour. Chocolate, chamomile, spearmint, licorice. I;m in love.
Preparation
Thank you to my dog who took it upon himself to decide I didn’t need any sleep today. ’Tis now a matcha marathon day, Thursdays at work are always insane.
I’m not a tuesday fan. I like mondays, but not tuesdays. I’m tired, cranky and way too ready for bed.
My day consisting of; realising a company that was supposed to do a refund actually re-charges me, a “lady visit” to the doctor, a loooooong day at work, no supper made when I got home and then not being able to find a live feed of the Westminster Dog Show. :(
This is an amazing little cup of sunshine though. It’s tangy and creamy. Loving it!
Preparation
Hmm. . .I steeped this one twice today. I expected it to be a bold, strong cup since it was nearly coffee like in colour. But, there was something lacking. The berry was nice, but it didn’t give me what I was looking for. Happy to have tried it though!
Preparation
I didn’t like this last time, that has definitely changed! It just shows how your tastes develop.
Preparation
Mmmm! Good morning. I’m loving these days off, I actually have time for reviews. Or not so much reviews as tid bits of my life disguised as reviews. This was the perfect compliment to the sweetness of the banana bread I made. My dog is being a mooch though, silently staring at me while blowing jowl bubbles. Not sharing, Rally. Not sharing.
I know what you mean by hot paper! I always described it as cardboard. I can’t tell if it’s the tea or the paper cup that I’m tasting. Not exactly the healthiest, but I find it’s not as bad as a double double. But even then, yeah, cardboard. I wonder what it would taste like if you ordered it to stay in a mug.
I’m not sure. . . I’ve never had this problem with TAZO at starbucks, or a to go cup at DT. I think it’s just a low quality tea. It’d be interesting to try it out though!
they say you can never go back…
HAHAHAHA! It’s true! I got to work and made Laoshan Black.
That’s what I’m saying! :D
Just say NO to Tim horton’s please…..
Oh, I will! I hadn’t had one since joining steepster in August!
friends don’t let friends drink Tims!
(though I have caved in on occasion lol)
I totally feel you on the hot cardboard taste. Does anyone know if it’s the cup, or if it’s just bland and tasteless in general?
