171 Tasting Notes
Wow! I’ve been on a green tea kick lately. This was a sample from Crowkettle
and I must say, this little guy is pretty darn good! The leaves are just beautiful and it has this light, sweet and fruity taste. The smell is a cross between fruity and floral.
Just mmm!
Preparation
My first Teavivre! This came as a lovely surprise in my mailbox from Terri Harplady much appreciated!
I sipped this all morning. I followed the directions on the website for three western steeps. The first steep at 1 minute was quite pale and weak. Steep 2 had a sweet, juicy taste to it. My favourite steep. Steep three was less juiny, but still fruity and I probably could’ve gotten another steep out of it, but my daughter forced me to make cupcakes.
I made this horrible mistake of leaving my tea and steeper at home when I went to work. With a 10 hour day ahead of me I had no idea what to do. Then
I remembered that our student helper had bought us the Sweet Indulgences set when he left. So, that solved the tea crisis. . . but what on earth would I use to infuse it? All I had was my timolino and NO infuser with it!
My inner CaveMama leapt out and I decided to use a triangle coffee filter.
I would not recommend this at all. The paper is incredible thick and it took like 10 minutes just to fill my mug. BUT, desperate times call for desperate measures.
Now, there was only this tea and very small amounts of Jessie’s Tea left. Not only does that not have caffeine, but I just plain don’t like it. This was a decent tea, all things considered, the peach was nice.
I wouldn’t have picked under normal circumstances though.
Preparation
LOL! “Tea Blocked”
At the end of the day I found a packet of Della Terra’s Chocolate Chai Puerh, would have rather had that.
Normally I have David’s Tea filters in a bag in my purse, but those were at home too! I could have drank store brand bags of English Breakfast, I felt that would be worst.
I always have a cup of black tea in the morning. I turned to Butiki this morning out of sheer excitement. Stacy is going to be doing a custom blend for me. Not with this tea, but another black tea. I’m long over due for an order though, I didn’t quite realize how low I was on most of my butiki!
Preparation
AAAAAHHHHHHHH custom blends from stacy! of what of what! tell me more tell me (..like does he have a car…)
nice. My strawberry Rhubarb is almost ready to take baby steps into the world from last years contest giggling Through no fault of Stacy’s i’ve been totally telling her to take it slow and there’s no rush. So it’s been a long run but I’m good with that since it’s not like i’m suffering from no tea in my cupboard lol
Mine is probably going to take a bit because she has to order the licorice stuff, but also no rush for us, it’s going to be a gift for hubby. But, we ran through all the plans yesterday. It was fun and exciting!
Mmmm. . . I love matcha. I have to admit that with unflavoured matchas I have to add a small amount of agave nectar. I can’t do a straight green tea. I’m sure I’ll get there eventually. For now, milk and sweetener and it makes my day!
Glad you enjoyed this one; it’s probably my favourite of the mariage frères teas I sent you. :)
