38 Tasting Notes
Ok, so i’ll be honest, i had to “review” the reviews here to compare the consensus. And i would have to agree – to enjoy the full benefits of miss Kathryne Earl Grey [ nice name, story?], she is a once bitten twice shy. Best to brew with a few than lots, as our culture demands more…Kathryne is less , as it doesn’t take much for the aromatic notes to consume your cup. once brewed yes you can smell the bergamot, but also the rich earth of africa…so perhaps this tea would best to experiment with different milk bases for a distinct taste, otherwise you may think you just drank coffee….which, this is not. Kathryne is a proper Earl Grey and as much be treated delicately. you must gently woo this tea to a proper blend…if you desire to court again in your cup!
Preparation
Awwwwwhhhh, good ol Kenya Farmers! This tea is as fresh from the ground as IT GETS! believe me you will know by opening their very fashionable tea sachets – you can smell the rich earth of africa it was sown in …but don’t let it fool you…once brewed, it makes a mean cuppa! i had sugar and milk on the side ready, because it’s a strong brew! but for those who work endlessly to satisfy a 5 min experience in a cup deserves more than pennies, they deserve a well lived life. Kudos, JUSTea…keep it brewing and bless Kenya Alive!
Preparation
well i must say , there is always a FIRST!! of tasting notes and i’m IT!! i came across this tea out of the discussion boards in request of how to get some “Linden Tea” – tommytheToad was more than open to exchange this precious commodity with some of my David’s tea and Mighty Leaf stash.
now to the actual taste…the aroma is definetely flowery. like a fresh boquet to be exact, it has a light sweet taste to it, but i’m just more than happy to drink it!! i learned that Linden tea carries a lot of health properties, and i’m graciously appreciating the trusted community of steepster in helping me connect with this lovely tea. so yes i would recommend this tea…there is nothing stark or hard or herbal about it….just a nice light taste and an aroma of walking through the garden on a mid summer’s afternoon….a dream after all :)
many thanks again to TommytheToad!! :)
Preparation
mmmmmm. berry berry. this is REAL Berry. like, straight up from the woods, which reminds me, i enjoyed this tea 2 Go in a travel mug as i walked the trails on a late summer evening. Wow, talk about one with nature…the tea i mean…cranberries, blackcurrants, almost like trying to describe a dark wine [which i don’t drink but i’m sure would taste similar] mysterious. intruiging. and delightful company in the bush [minus the bugs, lol]. i didn’t add anyting to this tea, but it is the kinda to sit and simmer sip on a long summer walk for sure.
ok… so me and chai, yeah a few years ago we hit it off really well in a local coffehouse…oh that sweet rustic aroma, cupping my hands in that yellow mug…infused with memories….
now years later, and many teas later… i don’t know if it’s me, or the tea, but i think chai’s have been saying to me , “Chow babe”.
don’t get me wrong, there is always room in a mug for chai…i think perhaps maybe it was the milk ratio, not quite balanced…because it only brought back memories of a long lost chai…and never connected since….
oh yes, the review – to any chai lover, this will do the thing. but to one who has had only former memories of chai, my suggestion, if you let it go, and the chai comes back…it’s true chai ;).
LOVE EARL GREY. LOVE LAVENDER…. . i think this was an interesting combo…i could see this being used to have a “spa” day, you know the kind where you need to feel like you are the king or queen of the day of lucious nothingness to do but just relax and BE. i could defintely taste the notes of lavender in the earl grey, but my milk/sugar combo only delightfully enhanced the experience. i used mine in a tea-4-1 set as it generously gave two whole cups worth, the flavour is rich. Very worthy of a book read, a bath, or just a silent moment with one’s self :)
Preparation
So with the infamous samples do i dare begin with this one. hmmmmmmm….seriously that was the first reaction to smell and taste! thought not a big “breakfast” tea fan, i found this one quite enjoyable and most avoidable of the dreded “punch” aftertaste most breakfast teas leave you hurting like you had one too many at the pub :P . there was no aftertaste, but just blissed joy of good creme overtones that made you want to dye your hair red and wait for your William Wallace to come! :D . i enjoyed my cup with two raw sugars and skim milk. My also interesting joy was that the tea sachets of pyramid style were cute as they would float in the centre as a triangle and dance around the mug until it semi sunk in…which to me it’s a neat way to know the steep is good and done! This has been a GREAT first tea taste of EPI TEA…make one your own…go GET IT!! :)
Preparation
delictable sweet notes, this is not a strong sweet tea but just nice enough to enjoy inthe morning to avoid the cinnamon rolls and enjoy some green nectar goodness for your health and soul. a suttle pick me up when the emotional tank is depleted. kinda like the feeling when you watch someone put the sprinkles and chocolate syrup onyour sundae :) But don’t take my word for it, have a cup yourself!!!
