Magic Dragon

This tea is one of my favorite ! I love the fruity taste of it. It´s best drink iced.

I was really excited to try this blend when it came out, not only because it involved dragon fruit, but also because it was my mini escape every two days I had to go to summer school for basically all of my summer. Anyways, this blend is SERIOUSLY packed with flavour. You can definitely taste the dragon fruit as well as the hibiscus. It’s very very tart, so meh (I guess the combination of dragon fruit and hibiscus didn’t do it complete justice, even though I like both individually). However, although it is a good blend overall, it is definitely not a restock for me.

This is very juicy when prepared hot, and tastes like most of the fruit teas with hibiscus bases, but very different at the same time. I have never had dragonfruit before, so I assume that is what I am tasting. I like it, I think, it is something different. But it doesn’t beat raspberry for me, or other berries (as I would liken this blend to a berry blend), so I wouldn’t purchase.

This one is a new one at DAVIDs so naturally I was tempted to try it. It smelled super sweet and fruity, which of course I am drawn to. I’ve only had it once and it tasted really nice. It was nice to have a tea with dragonfruit in it because I love dragonfruit.

This blend smelled sickly sweet to me in the store, but the boyfriend wanted to try some, so we came home with a sample. To me this tastes an awful lot like the Shooting Starfruit tea when iced, but without the weird bitterness that I had. Which means I generally like it. I’m pretty sure he didn’t make it strong enough, but after the first couple sips I started to really enjoy it. I don’t think I’d reach for this on my own, but if the bf was having a glass i’d ask for one too.

Even frozen as a tea-sicle this is weird. I give up – I don’t like this one.

Delicious and light

ok..so hot brewed, i MUCH prefer the taste of this one….HOWEVER…i can’t drink it…there is something seriously bothersome about the aroma of this tea that makes my mouth rebel with every thought of drinking it. I plugged my nose and did drink it to be able to try it hot brewed, but man i cannot get past that smell lol thanks for letting me try variaTEA!

Cold brewed, this still tastes wonderfully of dragon fruit. I will have to pick up some more next time I am in DAVIDs. I gave the rest of my leaf to Sil when I went to visit her since I don’t have many teas she hasn’t tried so when I do, I share but I think I would stock this throughout the summer.

So this is DT’s new blend for the month of July and I have to admit that I was SUPER excited to see it, despite all the hibby in it, because I LOVE Dragonfruit and have had success with most Dragonfruit teas I’ve had, if not all of them.

Given it was released today, it was also one of the samples of the day and since I was at DT I could not resist trying it! I mean, I was pretty convinced I was going to buy it anyway – but trying it couldn’t hurt. I wont rate because I wasn’t the one who prepared the sample and I have no idea how DT prepared it – but I thought it was good and very promising!

It was a little weak for my tastes (but I think it was sitting in a pitcher with melting ice too, so that’s definitely something to take into consideration) but overall I thought it was distinctly Dragon Fruit flavoured with very light hibby notes to it. I didn’t pick up the rosehips at all. I enjoyed it.

I ended up walking away with a conservation 24g to play with. Likely I’ll cold brew it first; but I think it’ll be good hot too? Honestly, I probably would have got more because I’m sure I’ll love this one – but Tre’s supposed to be picking me up 100g of Cuppa T’s Dragon Fruit Cranberry blend. I didn’t anticipate the July tea being Dragon Fruit…
