17 Tasting Notes
Very thankful for the Clearance Sale going on at DAVIDsTEA on their website. I was able to pick 250g of this up, for 30.00$. It was definitely a risk spending $30.00 for a tea I never tried, but I’ve always been a fan of chocolate-flavoured teas, so why not just yolo.
Today I tried it for the very first time and I have to say that I’m very satisfied with the purchase. Not going to lie, the chocolate is not the star, it’s more of a compliment to the notes of coffee cake and dark roast coffee beans. It’s very smooth, and imo, it’s very hard to find a maté tea that can achieve this feat. The after taste is amazing, it provides a hint of raspberry syrup, which adds overall sweetness to each sip.
I’m not sure if this one’s going to be discontinued as most sales on clearance at 40% off do become discontinued (and somehow end up finding their way back to the store). It would be a definite restock, but I don’t need any more seeing as I do have 250g of it. If you’re looking for a pick-me-up, and need to wake the f*** up from whatever it is you did the night before, this maté will be your best mate (see what I did there). :]

I was really let down by half of the Summer Collection this year to be perfectly honest. But this tea is one from the collection that really shines, the other being Strawberry Colada. This really reminds me of one of my favourite green tea’s Toasted Walnut, very very similar in taste (I’m pretty sure it’s the coconut), it really tastes like a mix of Coconut creamsicle and really good quality coconut water. The flavour comes through, the honeybush adds a punch, and there’s a light creaminess to it. If it was a bit more stronger, it’d definitely be a 90+ score for me, but it’s a definite restock and I’m really happy with it!
P.S. It’s great to sweeten with Hazelnut agave, or sugar-free Hazelnut syrup from Starbucks with your choice of sweetner/sugar/honey. :]

My review might be biased because I love chocolate teas. It was pretty celebratory when this tea came out as the Tea of the Month for May (aka birthday month)! Initially, I’ve tried this tea iced with a little bit of vanilla soy milk, sweetened with hazelnut agave, and it was absolutely amazing. Then I tried the Iced Chocolate Delight recipe from DAVIDsTEA blog, and I was absolutely amazed with how good it was. I’ll provide y’all with a link below for that recipe. I’m about to try this hot, and I doubt it will be anything other than amazing chocolate goodness. Chocolate is obviously the star of the show, it’s super rich and fragrant; accompanied with tiny notes of blueberry and hazelnut, which makes it absolutely perfect. This is such a great alternative to fruity iced teas which dominate the summer.

This was awful, I tried this in-store when it first came out and it tasted fine at first, and as I continued to take more sips, it got more worse. I usually love black teas, but this one really let me down. I couldn’t even finish one third of the cup, it was pretty rancid.
This is probably one of my favourite green tea’s, and one of my favourite hot tea’s ever. The smell is like a creamy vanilla-coconut dessert and the taste is like a white chocolate cake with hazelnuts and coconut shavings. SO GOOD.
