1113 Tasting Notes
I got my first traveling tea box today from Tea Sipper! I had to go to the post office to pick it up on my lunch break. I haven’t had a chance to look through it all yet, but I found this near the top and I’ve always wanted to try it!
Well, I’m always happy to try a 52Teas blend without having to commit to an entire 2oz pouch. This one lives up to it’s reputation! This is one of the better 52Teas blends I have tried. I love coconut! This one is very creamy and the black base is mild and unobtrusive. There isn’t a whole lot in the pouch so I’ll probably leave the rest in there for other Steepsters to try. I just wanted a cups worth for sampling purposes :)
Trying my first tea from the Verdant blend club I am sharing with BrewTEAlly Sweet!
Looks like a couple other people have written tasting notes on this one but no one wants to give it a rating! heh.
The spearmint and tulsi are the prominent notes here, with the warmer spices and puerh itself taking a back seat. Not a bad blend, but I think personally, this morning I was hoping for something with a stronger darker base note. I’m still on my first steep, so maybe the 2nd will have a little more oompf to it. I will give it credit for being very forest-like!
Like Bonnie said, I imagine this would be excellent chilled :)
Sample sipdown! This tea is really hitting the spot for me today. I was so busy this weekend I barely had a chance to sit down and enjoy a good cup! This is a really nice rich complex black tea that I would totally drink more of if I had some. I’m really looking forward to trying my half of the Verdant blend club box which should be arriving today! :D
Another sad Butiki sipdown! I do have some other jasmine pearls laying around but none quite as good as these. These are my ultimate comfort tea. I’ve got a big art show opening tonight, and my favorite outdoor art fair of the year in the morning! Exciting/Stressful! Gotta get my zen on with these pearls today :)
Happy Friday Steepsters!
I’ve got one piece in the art show tonight, and a booth at the art fair tomorrow…which is looking like it might get postponed to Sunday for rain!
At the booth I’ll be selling basically all of my art that I can. I’ve let my etsy store get pretty empty but lots of this stuff plus others, including canvas wraps of my new tea mandala! http://evilducky77.etsy.com/ https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10201079153234015&set=a.1352411883383.2051400.1023981242&type=1&theater
Today I have been drinking cheap bagged tea because last night I burnt my tongue on some (presuambly) delicious Indian soup I made and it STILL hurts and my taste has been dulled :(
Usually if I burn my tongue it feels fine the next day! This is too weird!
Having said all that, I do find this cheap Hojicha oddly comforting! The roastiness reminds me a bit of genmaicha :)
Hmmm interesting, I have some hojicha I haven’t tried, really should dig that out and give it a go if it’s like genmaicha.
Finishing off my swap sample of this one from BrewTEAlly Sweet
This tea is pretty brilliant. Even a mediocre pu-erh base pairs really well with chocolate and chai spices! Not many teas from Della Terra impress me this much. I think this one and Walnut Brittle are my favorites. 2nd faves are the discontinued Snow Fairy (Vanilla Pineapple White) and the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie :)
Another super sad Butiki sipdown! Hoping to re-stock this one soon. It is wonderful for Fall! I love nutty teas so much :)
Mmmmmmm…I hope this gets.resteeped soon!
I hope you find a few you like in the teabox! :D
I did find many things to try! I separated the samples I took out into my own little baggies, and it will be heading on to BrewTEAlly Sweet TODAY! I hand wrote out everything I added and took out, but I will type it all up ASAP!
Cheater! Your supposed to enjoy the box. But this is very smart too. I should just do that now with the teas I have left to try in my box since this one is heading my way already :)
