30 Tasting Notes
I’m not sure how I feel on this tea… It smells delicious, the taste isn’t bad, however the after taste just doesn’t sit well with me. I made a pot of this tonight and have had two cups so far. I think its the lemongrass… I don’t think I like lemongrass as a tea ingredient :-/ I’m also not a huge blueberry fan, so the combination of blueberries and lemon grass just isn’t doing it for me. I was hoping for a sweet and berry-like taste, sadly this is not.
I only bought a small taster tin of this, so I won’t be sad when its gone.
Flavors: Blueberry, Lemongrass
So I started some holiday baking tonight and I figured this was the most appropriate tea to drink while doing so. Hoping maybe it would stop me from eating cookie dough… but come on thats one of the best parts of baking, eating while you do so :P
As for this tea, well I’m currently on my third cup of this tonight… Easy to say this is one of my ultimate favourites. Cake in a cup! Nothing gets better than that. It literally tastes just like a cupcake, delicious!
Flavors: Cake, Creamy, Vanilla
I don’t have a Teavana near me, therefore no way to try this without purchasing it. I’m so happy to have received a sample of this from the lovely Ost.
Anything with the word marshmallow and tea involved is definitely worth a try in my books, being the sugarholic and tea-aholic I am, I had to try this! I had a hot cup of this last night and a hot cup this afternoon. I love this! I loved how the tea turned pink, and it wasn’t too sweet. This is a delicious nighttime dessert tea. I’m thinking this is a must order tea in the new year :)
Flavors: Berry, Marshmallow, Sweet
Mmmm tried this tea at my friends this morning. Great tea for a great hangout with my friend and her two little ones.
Not only does this tea taste delicious, it smells amazing! I think I might love the smell even more than the taste! Gonna have to pick some of this up for myself. Yumm.
Flavors: Almond, Cinnamon, Rooibos
This was one of the first teas I ever bought from Davids about a year ago. I grabbed a 100g of this and I’m so happy I had as its one of my ultimate favourites! It’s one of the best caramel teas!
It’s incredibly creamy and sweet. You don’t need to add sugar or anything to it, which is great as I prefer my teas straight. Mmmm yum! The perfect tea for a yucky, rainy day such as today :)
Flavors: Caramel, Creamy
So I’m working my first night shift all alone in my new work position, so I figured ‘hey new work experience, lets have a new tea to go with it!’
I bought 50g of this tea awhile back for myself and a swap… however I haven’t gotten around to trying it until now. I’m sad to say I’m quite disappointed. In general, salted caramel is delicious , however this tea turned out quite bitter. The only notes I can get are a little salt (which float to the top) and some coconut. No caramel at all :( I normally enjoy black tea, but I’m not fond of this one.
I tried the first few sips just straight, however I couldn’t get past the bitterness so I added a caramel honey stick. I mean the honey stick is great and I believe it made the tea taste a bit better. But it still has a bitter after taste.
Verdict: I wouldn’t buy this again, and it looks like I’ll have to try and struggle through what’s left of the 50g . Maybe a latte will be better? Hmm.
Flavors: Bitter, Coconut, Salt
So I’m sipping this at work in my travel mug. Its oh so dead and boring right now. Joys of working as a front desk agent when checkout is 11 and check in is 3… Its currently 1:20 and the phones aren’t even ringing! Yesh.
At least I have my tea, even if it did burn my tongue on the first sip! Well this tea is just oh so delicious and making the time go by much more enjoyable. I love mint, I love chocolate. I love rooibos. Therefore this is definitely one of my favourites. Yumm.
Flavors: Chocolate, Mint
Davids Tea 24 Days of Tea: Day 2
So I’m going to state this right from the beginning: I am NOT a huge chai fan!
However I love vanilla. So upon opening day two of the tea advent calendar I was intrigued to try this! I don’t mind the smell of this tea, I can smell the vanilla and chai in what I feel is a nice balance. However upon brewing (via David’s instructions) I am not a fan.
I drink almost all my teas straight. I just got into lattes the past few weeks and haven’t expanded my horizons yet, naturally I enjoy my teas straight, so naturally I drank this tea straight. Honestly all I could taste was chai! Yuck! No vanilla whatsoever. I was sadly disappointed. :( I started to struggle drinking my cup about half way through.
Overall Verdict: This isn’t a total write off, a. because i still have some of my sample left, and b. I bought about 25g a few weeks ago thinking I would like it. So I need to find a new way to try this!
Im not going to ‘rate’ this tea as recommended or not as I haven’t made a final decision. As a straight tea, nothing added, no I do NOT recommend… unless you enjoy chai. However next time I try this Im going to try it as a latte and hope this might make it more enjoyable for my taste buds.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves, Ginger
So heres to my first tasting note!
To be honest I tried this tea in store as a sample a long time ago and immediately was like nope don’t like it, its got nuts in it and everyone loves it so Im not going to! Haha stubborn me.
Well today I opened my day one of the advent calendar and there it was Forever Nuts, daunting me! Of course with my luck it had to be a tea I was sure I didn’t like… So I thought about it all day, and decided hey why not give it another shot. So I took the tea to my dads and we tried it together…. well to my surprise I actually like it (as did he)!
Wow! I can really taste the cinnamon and I feel like it reminds me of almond biscotti from when I was in Italy in May. Oh the memories! And I really do love the pink colour it turns… so I guess I now understand the huge rage of this forever nuts!
So happy I decided to not be stubborn and give it another shot :)
Flavors: Almond, Cinnamon
