19 Tasting Notes
Okay, I’m trying to get into rooibos a bit more for evenings and late afternoons, when I’m finished with caffeine for the day. And this tea helped quite a bit.
Fairy Dust Rooibos is perfect for a summer iced tea! I cold steep it and it tastes like summer fruit. The flavours are definitely fairy (faerie) worthy. So, I used two tsp of tea in the travel mug I use for cold steeping and filled it about 2/3 full with water. And then I let it sit in the fridge for a couple nights.
I’m contemplating trying it with vodka, but it’s so delicious I’m afraid of ruining it. lol

Okay, so somehow or another I ended up with a full David’s Tea tin of Santa’s Secret (a red tin, if y’all are curious).
So, after having countless cups of this tea hot and as a latte, I decided to see if cold steeping it would be a nice change.
Yes! SO. FREAKING. TASTY! I find the peppermint notes are much stronger and I get the caffeine without worrying if I’ve oversteeped it. (I find this tea is a bit hit of miss with my 4-5 min steeping time when it’s hot).
I made a pitcher of it. I left it overnight in the fridge, probably 12-13 hours altogether, and it was light and minty. I totally recommend this tea cold steeped. It’s still tasty hot, but I don’t like it as much.
Flavors: Peppermint, Sweet
Preparation
This is a great tea as a breakfast latte. The strawberry and cream flavour balances well with the black tea, and it doesn’t need agave or any sweetener. I might try it with a touch of vanilla agave the next time I drink it.
I also enjoy it with just a touch of warmed up cream.
Flavors: Cream, Strawberry

I don’t know what it is about this tea, but it’s completely hit or miss for me. I drank it iced today, and I’m kind of glad I only have a bit of it left. I like my teas to be a bit more dependable in the enjoyment category.
Maybe it’s the amount of hibiscus in each cup? I think I want to like it because the store sample I consumed had a nice balance with the fake cream flavour…
For this particular cup, I poured boiling water over the tea in my steeper and then left it overnight. In the morning I threw it over ice. I might have benefited from a touch of sweetener.
Flavors: Berry, Tart
Preparation
It’s a yummy dessert tea! It smells nice. I have to steep it longer to bring out the flavours, but the spice isn’t overpowering and pairs well with the chocolate. It’s a nice caffeine free alternative to my favourite: Chocolate Chili Chai
I said I used 1 tsp, but it’s a bagged tea, so I used one bag.
Flavors: Chocolate, Spices

I love the smell of this tea! I like the taste of this tea. I find the rooibos can be a bit overpowering about halfway through the cup, even as a latte, and I’m not a fan of rooibos. I tend to drink this as a latte in the evening. It’s delicious :)
