From DAVIDsTEA

You might think tea drinking is a pretty tame pastime, but we like to imagine every new cup is an adventure. Don’t believe us? Try a sip of this exotic, fruity tisane and see where it takes you. Maybe you’ll find yourself floating in a violet-tinted lagoon, perfumed with fresh blueberries. Or perhaps you’ll be sunning yourself on a remote beach, digging into a freshly picked pineapple. Wherever you get whisked away, one thing is certain: you’re going to want to go there again.

Ingredients:
Candied pineapple (pineapple, cane sugar, citric acid, sulfur dioxide), blueberries, lemongrass, elderberries, cornflower petals, natural and artificial flavouring.

Price per 50g: $7.50

Looks very pretty with the dried blueberries, blue cornflower petals and stalks of lemongrass. I like that it has a strong blueberry flavor and enjoy it for a caffeine free blend. I was surprised that the lemony flavor doesn’t come through much for me. It’s mostly sweet blueberry and pineapple, and you get a good amount of extra sweetness from the sugar coated, dried pineapple pieces.

I picked this tea up on Black Friday because I love the other lemongrass-heavy tea I have from DT, vanilla swirl. I guess I oversteeped my first cup because it tasted kind of murky and sour, and I didn’t love the second steep that I had as a cold brew either. Today, I made sure not to steep it as long, and I’d say it’s tastier this time. The kind of fake fruitiness is sometimes not so great, but the sweetness and lemongrass base are nice. Really though, it just makes me wish I were drinking vanilla swirl! This tea is kind of weird, but I guess I’ll be able to finish my two ounces. I think this would be tastier with just blueberries and no elderberries. Also, I was pleased that the pineapple didn’t take over like it sometimes does.

I had forgotten that Vanilla Swirl existed. I wonder if I have some left, somewhere.

AJRimmer

I love vanilla swirl so much, but sadly, one day when I was feeling stressed about how much tea I had, I sold off six oz of it, so now I only have a few servings left. Hopefully I’ll be able to acquire more one day!

Kittenna

Oh no! I understand that stress, heh. Maybe it will come back one day? (I assume it’s retired.)

AJRimmer

It’s still available in the Canada store, but it’s on sale, so I guess they’re just selling off the last of it. Nowhere to be seen in the US ):

This one was odd. It’s very fruity and very sweet. I made it as a hot tea and didn’t hate it but it just didn’t taste right. I’m going to try it iced, it sounds like that may be the way to go. It is definitely very flavorful (sometimes herbal/fruit teas seem to be missing a spine). Withholding numerical rating until I try it iced. Hot, I’d probably just give it a 55 or so – I drank what I made but have no interest in drinking it hot again.

I tried this when it came back last year and have since been stocked up on it, so I dug into my stash today. At first sniff, this tea smells heavenly. I knew I’d love it. Surprisingly I only like it hot. Iced just wasn’t great for me. So I’m currently drinking a hot cup of this and it’s really yummy. It’s a very fruity tea, with pineapple and blueberry tastes to it. I also really like the lemongrass in this. It gives it an hint of tanginess. I added some sugar to sweeten it up some and it adds to the fruitiness. I really like this tea.

The smell of this raw is like candy paradise.
Blueberry just overwhelms pleasantly. With the malted sweetness of pineapple and cane sugar.
I usually revolt against sweetening but I’m willing to taste.
Really nice hot. Tastes like a perfectly sweetened blueberry tea. I really dig this. not too sweet. Like that perfect sweetened tea we loved as kids in Europe. Not a fan of the compote this is its much sexier cousin. So glad I tried it hot.

Perfect rating, this is still my favorite tea, and I’m very sad to be down to my last 50g.

This tea works so well as a hot or an iced tea, neither the pineapple nor the blueberry is too overpowering, and the lemongrass adds a very calming taste to the tea. The tea smells fantastic too.

I steep this tea for about 6 minutes as a hot tea.

One of my favourite sipping herbals, but it could do without the artificial sweetner.

I picked this tea up in the “They’re Back” David’s tea collection. I tried it once, and wasn’t incredibly fond. It was better as a cold tea, but just wasn’t my cup. Heavily pineapple flavoured with lingering blueberry sweetness. This tea is good for a summer day.

Pineapple and blueberry is not a combination that I’d normally go for, but I was intrigued by this tea because I enjoy Teavana’s Blueberry Kona Pop (or whatever they’re calling it these days) tea blend. I thought this would be comparable. It wasn’t. I sampled this hot and was not impressed. The blueberry flavor was very light. The lemongrass and pineapple completely overwhelmed my cuppa.
