173 Tasting Notes
Made this a sipdown today! It feels good to get through some of my stash, but bittersweet at the same time. I don’t know if I will re-order this one. It was fun and tasty while it lasted (and of course I love me some Destiel!) But I think my love for this one was more in the “summer fling” category.
So the last time I wrote about this tea, all I could think to say was “coconut.” I literally sat with my laptop in front of me, cup o’ tea in hand.
sipping.
thinking.
sipping.

coconut. Yep, that’s all I got.
Well today I was able to form a coherent thought about this tea. Where I live, we do in fact experience four seasons (although winter seems to consume most of the year.) For me, I seem to crave teas based on the weather a lot. When it’s cold and snowy I grab warm cinnamony teas that remind me of holidays and spices. Well, what about those who are like “ooh, burrrrr! 50 degrees farenheit! Time to bust out the snowsuit!” (That’s like, shorts and tank top weather here, lol) This tea, Fantasy Island, is what I imagine those beach livin’ lucky ducks reach for when they want their “winter comfort tea.” Does it make sense? Kind of…. not really… but hey, it’s the best I could come up with :)
I’ve been revisiting some of the first teas I bought as a super tea newbie (although I still feel pretty green.) I find this one is much more astringent/bitter than I previously remembered. Wanted to have this one plain, but found that I needed to add some sugar. I feel it helped to round it out a bit.
This one has never really “wowed” me but I also never remember wanting to spit it out either. Another “hmm, this one’s alright” kind of cup. I ended up brewing this up again but with a bit of cococaramel sea salt, and I’ve gotta say, I’m liking the combination of the two. Very, very much…
A friend convinced me to stop into Teavana when we were at the mall today. All I could think was " don’t buy all the tea. You have enough of their tea already, there are better teas on your wishlist elsewhere." I did end up getting some tea to go and this was it. Cinnamon, apple, and a spiciness that I’m guessing was cardamom (since there was a TON of it in the blend.) I was hoping to get some caramel/sugary goodness from the tea due to the name, but that department was lacking. I did not have this sweetened.
Fun side story, while we were shopping today I was offered applications from both Teavana and LUSH while I was in their stores. I was just chit chatting with my friend, helping her to decide on products, telling her which ones I liked and why, etc. After hearing me talk, managers at both places were asking me if I would like to apply, lol.
Disappointing. The name of this tea sounds delicious. I would expect caramelly-sugary-nutty deliciousness, but not apple and cinnamon. Too bad.
