292 Tasting Notes
Finished off my last bit of this tea this morning, since there is more headed my way this week. It held up quite well for a couple steeps, but the third was a bit weak.
My throat feels like razor blades, so I’ve been drinking tea like crazy today. But too lazy to post as I’m drinking it… sigh.
Preparation
This is the other tea I got from KiwiDelight, because after I got some from Mitch, I couldn’t resist another attempt.
This tea is quite delicious, banana-y and chocolate-y, but not overly sweet and also not medicinal-rooibos-y. I am just having my third infusion now, and I’m a fan. I haven’t tried too many Teavana teas, but so far, I am enjoying their caffeine-free selections.
Preparation
Finished off the last of this tonight, and it did not impress me. Maybe it’s just the end of the bag, but man. Not a good cup at all.
I’m not adjusting my rating, because I have previously quite enjoyed this one, but definitely not tonight.
Preparation
KiwiDelight sent me a sample of this, and I just received it today! I can’t pass up a mint tea, so I made a cup right away.
I take back what I’ve said about Della Terra blacks. If they are black with MINT, I am a fan. This is quite lovely. I might prefer Shamrocks & Shenanigans, but I think they are basically the same thing. So tasty, a wonderful blend of mintiness and creaminess that work very well together. Thanks, KiwiDelight!
Preparation
Oooof, I love this tea.
I also brought this to my farm last night, mostly for myself. But everyone else ended up loving it, too, and before I could leave I had to make a cup for the singer who performed. He was very excited, and asked me where he could possibly order this tea and have it delivered right to his home. So… good work, Mulberry Magic. You are amazing.
Preparation
I am definitely not a fan of chai, and it’s one of the few teas that I usually sweeten, because that makes it a bit more bearable for me. However, Courtney sent me a sample of this one, and since my friend Scott specified chai tea… I brought this to share with him.
While it was definitely one of the best chais I’ve ever had, I’m still glad I split the cup with someone else. I didn’t even sweeten it, the candied fennel seeds provide a perfect complement to the spices. Very nice blend, thanks for sharing, Courtney!
Preparation
Last night, I was asked by a friend to bring teas to my farm, for a house concert to celebrate my mom’s birthday. He is relatively new to tea and says his favorite tea is chai, which was slightly disappointing to me since I am not such a fan.
Anyway, I brought this because it smells amazing and has a very thick feel, and I thought he might appreciate it. He did, quite a lot, and so did another of the guests at the show. Yay!
Preparation
Okay, so since I wasn’t very excited about this one the first time I tried it, I mixed it with Jasmint this time to try for a slightly less artificial flavor. The fake-y strawberry was toned down a bit, so that was nice.
I cold-brewed my leaves as well, and drank that this morning. Still way better cold, but nothing I’ll ever be ordering again.
Preparation
I finished off my sample of this one today. It’s not bad, but it’s not for me. I am glad I had the chance to try it, though. And there are more than enough Butiki teas that are on my must-order list, it’s nice to have at least one that isn’t.
Preparation
Courtney sent me a sample of this one the other day, and I had it after my lunch this afternoon.
Hot, it was fruity and refreshing, but it’s definitely not my favorite. I much prefer Lime Gelato. However, it got better as it cooled, so I’m going to try it cold later. It’s currently in a jar in my fridge. I’m expecting to prefer this one as an iced tea, I think.
