The ginger was too sharp when I drank this by itself. Sweetened with soy milk, it’s more pleasant, but the ginger just overwhelms any other flavor here, so I wouldn’t buy this again. I’d rather drink either straight ginger tea or a blend with a more balanced ratio of ingredients.
Made this one last night. Once I’d strained the leaf I ended up forgetting about my mug just long enough so that, when I came back to it, it was the perfect temperature to slurp back in what felt like one big, uninterrupted gulp while still being somewhat hot and cozy. Kind of just a rich chocolate flavour with a hint of earthy beet and pu’erh. Definitely a simple profile, but a very smooth one.
Adventageddon Day 21 – Tea 4/4
I believe this is actually the first Plum Deluxe blend in the countdown to make an appearance that I actually already own, but even still I was excited to see it since it’s one of the few more “straight/plain chocolate” teas I own that I actually really enjoy. Usually I like chocolate blends paired with another flavour like orange or strawberry. This one is rich and earthy though, with a bittersweet cocoa note that feels decadent without necessarily being sweet.
Plus I’ve always loved the super rich reddish brown colour this brews up. It’s a pretty blend to look at!

#SVTTB Round Two – Tea 17/???
This is the last Plum Deluxe blend from the TTB that I’ve pulled out to try and, honestly, I feel like I sort of unintentionally ended up leaving the best for last. I’m usually super picky about chocolate teas but there was something about this one that spoke to me in almost the same way that Wize’s Chocolate Dream (probably my fav chocolate tea) does. I also LOVE the pu’erh base (adds so much depth), and that combined with the beetroot is such a nice clean, smooth sweet earthy flavour addition
…and it does steep a red-ish colour appropriate for a red velvet so that’s a big win too.
Yeah, I think I’m holding onto this one!
#SVTTB Round Two – Tea 16/???
This tea was really nice, but definitely familiar feeling. It took me a while to place what the combination of silky French vanilla, sweet almond, and subtle red fruit notes were reminding me of but it was very satisfying when I finally cracked the code. Definitely the same sort of profile as Boston – which is one of my all time favourite Harney & Son blends. If I didn’t have a nearly full tin of Boston I might be tempted to keep this one, but alas I do not have the need for both. It’s very good, though!
#SVTTB Round Two – Tea 9/???
I’m basically working towards trying all of the Plum Deluxe blends in the box, since it’s harder to get my hands on them here in Canada. The idea behind this one intrigued me; strawberry and bergamot got well together so I could see cranberry being comparable.
Personally I thought the bergamot itself was pretty light handed, but maybe that was for the best because it let the bright, tart red fruit note pop enough to be quite distinct among the black tea. It kind of gave me loose Monk’s Blend vibes, with the black tea and grenadine combo. So, I suppose, bordering a little on more just “red fruit” versus cranberry specifically. I liked it, though! Not enough to keep it, but it was a fun spin on Earl Grey that I’m pleased to have tried.
I think I’ve said it here on Steepster before, but some of my favourite teas to work on myself and to try from others are these “twists” on such established, classic teas where it feels like so many routes have already been explored. It’s cool to see all the different ways tea companies put their own stamps on those types of teas.

This blend has been on my wishlist for a while now, and I have to say that I’m underwhelmed. The base tea was fine, but the raspberry flavor was very light and the cookie was nonexistent. It could be the mix on my teaspoon perhaps, but I had much higher hopes for this one.

#SVTTB Round Two – Tea 2/???
I’m very excited to see some more Plum Deluxe blends in the box, as that’s a company I’d love to explore more of! This one sounded interesting to me because of the supposed “lilac essence” in the blend (ie. lilac flavouring). I’ve not tried very many lilac teas…
I’m sipping on it now and I like it quite a bit, though it really tastes more like violet to me than lilac. Sweet, very round and coating on the palate with that hard to describe sort of “purple plumpness” to the floral notes. I like that the black tea base is very brisk and full bodied too – it gives a bit of backbone to the florals that almost makes them pop even more between each sip.
This is hands down my favorite ATM. Its so delicious, its a decadent treat. For those that have tried cherimoya, this taste like the fruit in the best possible way. I love having it as a latte, its perfect. It has a smooth creamy silky taste, with the hint of desert apple and cream.
Flavors: Apple, Creamy, Custard, Pastries, Sweet
Preparation
Had this blend for the first time today. It was a tart cherry almond flavored tea, i liked it with a little sugar. Feels like it would be nice cold or hot. I would like to experiment next time with having it with a splash of milk just because i like to try the latte version of teas. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Ill have to revisit this tea again in its cold and latte form
Flavors: Almond, Cherry, Tart

My husband and I love this as a latte. It our favorite to drink right before bed. The lavender and vanilla eith the chai spice is such a great combination to make a relaxing tea latte for those time you just want to unwind. This was in a spring collection box with four other teas. Ive actually had this before when i got it in an herbal trio bag last year.
Flavors: Lavender, Spices, Vanilla

Its been a while since my last tasting note. Ive recovered and im back to enjoying my teas. This tea actually came in a spring collection box with four other teas. Its a black tea flavored with lilac essence. Im a fan of floral scented teas. This was a pretty mellow black tea for me, some that arent used to floral scented teas found it overwhelming but recommended combining it with other complementary teas. I didnt do it this time, i had it with a splash of milk and a bit of panela sugar. It was nice, i liked it. I would see myself buying it in the future.
Flavors: Floral, Lilac

TTB Review #35: Definitely lives up to its name – I can taste ginger, basil, and lemon individually and they all work well together. I’ve found it’s very easy to overdo the ginger to the point where it’s overpowering, and this tea does a good job of reigning it in. I do wish the pieces of apple and pineapple had more presence.
Flavors: Basil, Ginger, Lemon
Day 23 of the Plum Deluxe herbal advent calendar! This one is simple but tasty. As with the other dessert-y rooibos & honeybush blends, I steeped this for a really long time to make sure the flavors came out. The honeybush makes a nice woody base for the vanilla, which is creamy but not sweet. I also made a cup of this as a latte with oat milk and a bit of maple syrup, which was quite delicious.
Day 22 of the Plum Deluxe herbal advent calendar! So yum. This has a strong spearmint taste layered over a marshmallow flavor and thicker texture from the marshmallow root, with just a hint of vanilla. Marshmallow root imparts really great marshmallow flavor and texture, and doesn’t get used nearly enough. This blend is reminiscent of 52teas’ Graveyard Mist, sans the green tea. It’s not super complex but well composed, tasty, and a true treat.
Day 21 of the Plum Deluxe herbal advent calendar. This isn’t bad but it’s also just nothing notable. There’s a not-overwhelming sweet strawberry note, a hint of mint, and chamomile. It’s better/more flavorful with a 20+ minute steep, so that’s how I finished it off.
Flavors: Chamomile, Mint, Strawberry
Day 19 of the Plum Deluxe herbal tea advent calendar. I tried this hot. I tried it brewed long and strong, and per instructions. I tried several cups of it. All were extremely unpleasant, I assume because of the horsetail. I’ve never tried it before and don’t particularly care to again! I finally found a way to at least make it drinkable – brew according to steeping instructions and then let cool until it’s iced tea. That seems to mellow the horrible horsetail flavor. The lavender in this is pleasant enough, I just can’t quite get past the other, hard-to-describe flavor. It’s not quite bitterness or tartness… I can’t describe it, it’s more like a sensation than a flavor really. I don’t know that everyone would have the same reaction. This might be some personal quirk.
I love this tea. The flavors are balanced. Its from an advent calendar, so holiday themed. I think this tea is great any season, it has such a nice light fruity flavor balaced by the mint and lemongrass.
Flavors: Berries, Chamomile, Lemongrass, Rose, Spearmint, Strawberry
