I rarely drink green tea anymore, straight or flavored. I’ll occasionally have a straight green tea with food, or a jasmine green. But, I just don’t gravitate towards them. But, I was in a rare mood and decided grab one of the few little green tea samples I have.
This is fine, I think I oversteeped it a bit, because it’s a touch bitter.
Super vegetal- cooked asparagus and spinach.

Flavors: Asparagus, Green, Spinach, Vegetable Broth

The first time I tried this I didn’t care for it, so I stashed it in a drawer and forgot about it. That was about 2 years ago, and I just dug it back out again. With some aging, the vanilla has become so strong, with just a touch of cedar. The oolong is bright green and fresh, with a pop of lilac. Really interesting base combined with the vanilla and cedar.

Oof, these are my flavor friends. Sounds amazing.

I love it when a tea ages well and develops into something I really enjoy!

drank Amaretto by Culinary Teas

Can’t say that I love this. The amaretto flavor is definitely there, but there is also an unpleasant seaweed quality that I can’t get past. I have one more cup worth left in this bag and will not be repurchasing once it’s gone.

Now that’s a seaweed snack flavor I haven’t seen before, rofl!

Working on sipping through a sample pack. This is okay, but not my favorite 52Teas marshmallow or vanilla blend.

This little sample bag was quite enjoyable. I may repurchase at some point.

Decided to do a little gongfu session (which hasn’t happened in forever) as I write my capstone paper. Only 2 more months until I’m done with my master’s and I am very ready to be done.
These hong cha coins are absolutely delicious. Sugary sweet, with notes of brown sugar and super ripe stone fruits. Some baked brown bread too.
Just super delicious overall. I was sad to see that they’re sold out, but hopefully they get restocked at some point, because I’ll definitely need to purchase more.

Cameron B.

It looks like they’re the same ones that The Tea Practitioner currently has, just in case they don’t restock.

Very good to know, thank you!

Apparently I hated this when I first tried it, but I just opened a new sample bag that is about 2 years old, and it’s delicious! It seems like most August Uncommon blends actually benefit from quite a bit of aging, as it mellows out some of the more intense flavoring they use.
The plum is quite distinct, which I love. The bergamot and clove are both mellow and support the plum nicely. I actually may buy this again.

Haven’t had any of my August Uncommon blends for a while. Saw that they were having a sale and was tempted to purchase, but decided to shop my own stash instead. Good idea- I realized I have a ton AU blends that I need to get through.

This is still tasty- smoky/caramelized sugar. I think I prefer Golden Arrow over this one though.

Crowkettle

Saw that sale too and was trying to remember if I prefer this one or GA. Too many teas to justify taking advantage atm but one day

drank Perfecto by Lupicia

Got this as a sample from the Lupicia store in Paris. Ingredients say Green tea, black tea, rose petals, marigold, blueberry, aroma. I taste jasmine and mild red fruits. Just okay, not my favorite Lupicia blend.

Cameron B.

Their mixed fruit type green teas are always sort of meh to me too. I do like a lot of the single flavor ones though…

Delicious. Authentic (non plasticy/fake tasting_ dark chocolate and juicy, tart raspberry flavor. Lupicia continues to impress with their flavorings.

Cameron B.

This one is so good! And definitely my favorite of their “Chocolat” offerings.
