114 Tasting Notes
This is my very first chicory…and blech. Not my cuppa. At all. Looking at the title, lemon and ginger, mmm… I like both of those flavors, so together it must taste delicious! I even enjoyed the smell…..and the taste is just veryyyy concentrated version of the smell.. not sure why I didn’t like it…but it ended up going down the drain :’( For a herbal tea, it brews so incredibly dark…strange. Might try this again someday with only steeping the littlest bit of leaves..
Preparation
This was my first corn silk tea, and I have to say, it is incredibly delicious!!^.^ Mmmm… it tastes and smells almost exactly like unbuttered popcorn! It seems a bit odd to like a tea that is essentially liquid popcorn, but it is strangely addictive. Mmmm. Found a new, interesting herbal to keep around in my tea stash. Yum, yum!
Flavors: Popcorn

I hadn’t either! Apparently it has quite the health benefits, too…. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-140-CORN%20SILK.aspx?activeIngredientId=140&activeIngredientName=CORN%20SILK :]
It’s really interesting. Not sure why I haven’t heard of this tea before if it is on Webmd!
This tea reminds me a lottt of Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice. The cinnamon flavor of this one is less intense and the sweetness from the orange is a little bit stronger. Like Red Hots without the sting. Mmm. As much as I do really enjoy a strong, spicy cinnamon note, this sweeter version is delicious as well. This tea is naturally sweet without sweetener. With this tea available so close (Pike’s Place Market! ) and it’s delicious taste, it will probably be one of my newest staples:] Yum.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Orange, Spices, Sweet
Preparation
Thanks to the lovely Ost I got to try my very first Harney & Sons tea…as well as join all the Steepsters in giving such a great man a well earned tribute! :]
Wow, I can see why H&S has such a following. I’ve been looking at their site for ages and just haven’t gotten myself to purchase from all their yummy-looking teas.. but this has definitely put me over the edge! .
The best word that I can come up with to describe this tea is “zippy.”! haha…like the little red hots candies. mmm, talk about a flavor explosion! I love this cup of tea right now, but I could see it being extra perfect during the fall and winter! Something about this tea evokes images of autumn leaves and bunnies hopping through the snow. Just lovely.
Flavors: Spices
Preparation
The smell of this tea is absolutely amazing… spiced like the scent of a cozy, little cottage. tehehe..silly description, but that’s what it is! :] The flavor is a bit more spice than it is honey, but it is delicious nonetheless. It’s a little bit on the lighter side as far as flavor goes, but the aftertaste is stronger. Generally the aftertaste of teas can fall a little flat for me, but this one has the spice and the honey intermingling in a lovely manner. This tea has transitioned me from a hectic day of people to comfy and cozy cuddling up to a nice book. :]
Flavors: Honey, Spices

This was my first milk oolong. Not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical at being able to taste a natural milk flavor… but wow. The creamy milky flavor is indisputable. mmmm^.^ Yes, this is a lovely, milky tea. There was a bit of floral and vegetal taste but it was only a shadow to the creamy buttery goodness. Halfway through the cup, I had to break out a bowl of Cheerios because the milky flavor was too good to resist. This tea is wonderful.
This was my final sample from Teavivre! And thank you so much for advancing my tea education^.^..an order will definitely be coming through in the near future.
Flavors: Creamy, Milk, Vegetal

Watching the FIFA World Cup gives me the perfect opportunity to sit down and cuddle up to warm cups of lovely tea. Plus, I love the commercials on the Spanish channel… they are much more humorous than American commercials. .
Drinking this alongside the Monkey Picked Oolong also by Teavivre.
This tea has beautiful tea leaves with white tips… it’s gorgeous and looks nothing like other oolongs that I have had before.
This tea has a much stronger roasted flavor than the Monkey picked oolong. It isn’t too green or grassy but it does have a slight floral taste to it. I love the natural accent of honey in the background.. it really pulls together the flavors for me. It’s really smooth and just gets better and creamier with each successive resteep.
Thank you, Teavivre!

I just love Oriental Beauty, it’s a leaf hopper bitten tea, that’s one of the reasons why it’s honey sweet :-)
That natural honey flavor is amazing! I love it!:] What does it mean to be leaf hopper bitten? Sorry, still learning!
Oh, please don’t apologize!
It’s an insect that attacks and bites the fresh leaves. The bite action creates an early oxidization before the harvest while the leave is trying to “heal” itself. They discovered that the “bruises” give a sweet honey taste to the tea! Isn’t nature fabulous?
Albertocanfly, here’s a note I wrote a while ago about OB. You can look at some close up shots I took from the bitten leaves to illustrate the process. Look at your own spent leaves from Teavivre, you’ll probably see the tiny littles bites too :-)
That is incredible! Nature does it again with the pure incredibleness! . I love the chemistry behind the early oxidation. How awesome.
Oh my goodness… I do see some! And your pictures are incredible! Wow, you have quite the photography skills.
I find your comment about the commercially really funny – I am English, so watching the World Cup on English TV, and I swear our adverts are the worst. So dire. The reason I found your comment funny is that I am a big basketball fan too, and it’s not very big over here so I often watch NBA online, complete with American adverts. Me and my partner often comment on how much better, funnier and generally more imaginative than ours the American commercials are! I think they’re brilliant (:
Man did these tea leaves dance… and boy it was beautiful! They unwhirled and uncurled so beautifully as if dancing to an elegant ballet. The steep liquor smelled super roasted and a bit vegetal and buttery. Sip after sip, the butteriness, nuttiness, and creaminess tantalized my taste buds even more. Much to my delight, the roasted flavor did not take over the whole cup and merely complimented all the other flavors. What a lovely tea.
I’m not always in the mood for an oolong, but this one is definitely a comforting one. Delicious!
Thank you, again, Teavivre for this sample. Mmmm.
Flavors: Creamy, Nutty, Roasted

Wow, thank you Teavivre for sending this sample to me! This tea is wonderful.
Blood orange is probably my favorite of the citruses. And this tea is unmistakably blood orange. And not the peel…the juicy insides that make your mouth water. Wow. I added a bit of honey to this, but to be honest, it really didn’t need it-it has a citrus twang to it..but that only enhances the blood orangeness. :D You can just smell the sweet apple, slightly tart currants, and the beautiful orange just radiating from this cup. Wow, mmm.. this tea is delicious. Yeah, I’m going to need to order more of this for sure.Flavors: Apple, Black Currant, Orange

Thank you Angel from Teavivre for this lovely sample—and all the others!^.^
Yesterday was Pseudo-Father’s day as we had my brother’s college graduation today. My boyfriend and I made homemade ravioli for my papa-italian sausage and cheese or just cheese. It was delicious and everyone left stuffed. And today my brother graduated from college-he’s too amazing:] But I some how managed to sneak my traveling tea cup into the arena…my mom got her water taken away..and my sister got her pretzels taken away…haha..guess I just wasn’t suspicious enough to search—oh, the joys of not caring around a purse:P Anyways, I drank this tea during the ceremony…and I’m glad I did-it’s crisp, clean and refreshing.
It has a stronger taste of lemon with a crisp apple aftertaste-very clean tasting. You get a bit of tartness, that I really enjoy…but I did add a touch of sweetener. It has a lovely mix of fragrant and brightly colored dried fruits with just a sprinkling of pale green leaves. Very nice mixing. Mine was not on the light flavor side of the spectrum at all, it was brimming with flavor and brought a smile to my face. I bet it would be delicious iced.
Flavors: Apple
Chicory with lemon? That’s a little odd…it works better with chocolatey/vanilly flavors.
I could see that working a little better. Looks like I’ll have to try a different tea with chicory in it.. it just might be in the wrong place at the wrong time:]
chicory is known to be a coffee replacement. it is very dark.
