Simple sip down! Another “not adding to this to my cupboard” tea! Had this in the morning when we woke up so that my friend could try. I couldn’t handle sleeping in the same room with my snoring fiend so I made my other half pitch a tent last night so we could sleep in it! Soooo much fun! Sleeping in a tent at the cottage :) it’s raining today too so we get to sleep in the tent while its raining and I’m super happy about it! I adore the great outdoors…and when you can do it occasionally, it’s a nice time…especially since there’s the house 2 feet away hahaha

I like this one a lot, but likely not a restock since I prefer my tea to be tea. It would be a tasty “juice” for the little ones.

I got a free sample of this with one of my recent Teavivre orders because I wanted to try making tea soda with it. So I made a super strong steep of this with a lot of sugar, then mixed with soda water. Pretty tasty! I think perhaps I need to use more syrup and less water because it mainly tasted sweet and a bit tart. I did get a bit of citrusy lemon, which was nice. This is definitely my preferred way of preparing anything with rosehips or hibiscus in it.

Hey, do you think if I brewed a tea in soda water over night (cold steeping) that it would make a tea soda similar to what you are talking about? Just wondering.

Dinosara

Hmm, interesting idea but I would be afraid that the soda water would go flat overnight. If you could get around that it might work.

Zach Guillian

I was thinking if I covered it with something, or put the tea leaves in loose leaf…

Final sample from TeaVivre!

Dry, this tisane is LOVELY and smells just as good. It’s bright red and has a pop of green from the verbena, and the lemon is definitely the strong suit in the aroma. I brewed it with my Noble mug from DAVIDsTEA for 8 and half minutes with boiling water.

I added a little bit of sugar to avoid excessive tartness. This tisane is lovely! The apple ISN’T the forte, which I like. It has a very distinct apple aftertaste, however, and I LOVE it. The roselle adds a nice tartness that’s not too strong, and the verbena adds a nice zing to it. So very very nice, I love this tisane so much, and I thank TeaVivre again so much for this sample and all the others. The quality was amazing throughout, and I thank you for being so gracious!

Glad you’ve been having such a good time with your samples. I’m expecting mine soon!

SimpliciTEA

This is one of the tisanes I was eying when I was looking into buying some of her tea (before I bought lots of tea on sale from other vendors). Still, I hope to make a purchase later this year, and your review gives me that much more confidence in her tisanes! Thanks!

SimpliciTEA

Absolutely amazing pictures on the website you list in your bio!

No problem SimpliciTEA! It’s SO good. And thank you on the pictures!

A huge thank you to Angel from Teavivre for this sample.

The last fruit tea from Teavivre that I had was blueberry and I enjoyed it very much so I have high hopes for their apple tea. Apple is funny with me and I have to be in the right mood for it, I think it’s because my husband loves apple juice so I always have to buy some for him and I’m an orange juice kinda gal.

It’s a long 9 minute steep for this fruit tea so I helped myself to a piece of apple in the raw mixture and it was very fresh and scrumptiously good.

The tea once brewed is reddy/purple in colour with only a subtle apple/fruit fragrance. Whoops I burnt my lip trying to taste it’s fruity essence too eagerly :( Waiting a few minutes before sipping again I can taste mixed fruit of which apple is the background ingredient behind what tastes like rosehip. It’s very sweet but it tastes naturally so and it’s also a little sour, sort of like apple candy/sweets.

It’s a very nice subtle apple tea and it is refreshing and clean tasting. The downside for me is that I would prefer if it was a little stronger with the apple and a little less rosehip. I bet this would make a delicious iced tea.

It’s a really hot day here in New Zealand (being summer and all), so was in the mood for something refreshing. Upon opening the packet I wondered if this was going to make my mouth pucker when steeped, as it smells quite tart. I was definitely wrong however. When steeping this smells absolutely gorgeous! Very similar scent to when I make berry syrup oddly enough.

8 minutes – Ooh, this is quite nice. Not what I expected, but in a good way. It’s on the far end of light, moving towards medium strength at this stage, so I figured I’d let this one steep longer.

10 minutes – Very good, but now I’m interested in seeing how strong this will go before compromising the flavour – which is SO good! Not the most logical thought process for a tisane, but the man likes his flavor hits and I’ll be making an iced version at the same time.

16 minutes – Better and better. It’s now reminding me of a refreshing juice, but really hot obviously.

23 minutes – This is where I decided to stop, but I reckon that you could easily go for much longer and not have the tartness develop too much. Excellent blending by Teavivre. The flavour overall is an interesting one. It doesn’t scream apple, but there is a strong apple aftertaste. I definately get the lemon and verbena. I’ve never tried roselle before, but assuming that is the bulk of what I’m tasting, it’s lovely. Kind of berry-ish, but not. Hard to explain. The rosehip note has come out more and more the longer it’s steeped.

I tried this cold in three different ways;
Straight – Much more tart when cold (this is probably a “thing”, but I’m new to iced teas). Still refreshing, but I prefer it sweetened when cold.
Sweetened with sugar – Yum. I can tell this will be the man’s favorite.
Sweetened with honey – Yum! The honey I used has a very distinctive flavor (a native called Manuka) but they go together really well.

On the whole, hot or cold, this is an excellent fruit tea! I will definitely be including this in my next Teavivre order, and am curious about their other ones.

At the sight of this tea, I knew I would like it. It’s a lovely mix of fragrant and brightly colored dried fruits with a few pale green leaves. (And anything with rosehips is golden in my book.)

The tea brews to a lovely amber red. The Steep Time counter only goes up to 8 minutes, but I steeped mine for about 8:45. The result tastes strongly of dried apple, and is a little on the tart side even with sugar. I can definitely taste the rosehips as well, but I’m not sure about the other two ingredients. I’ve never had anything with verbena leaves in it before, so I’m not sure what I’m tasting.

Either way, this is pleasant and reminds me of drinking juice. I bet it would be fantastic iced, which I will certainly try some time soon.

I received this as a free sample and both me and the kids loved it. Has a true apple taste with a nice tartness that was perfect. Much like other reviewers, I think this would make an excellent iced tea. The only thing I did not care for was the fact that it dried my mouth out a bit. Used Teavana Perfectea Rock Sugar to sweeten and steeped for 11 minutes.

You have mentioned it dried your mouth a bit. A strange effect of teas is that with some teas, people will feel thirsty even when drinking plenty of the tea, while for others, tea can quench thirst. Sometimes this can be a physiological reaction due to dehydration if your body is lacking in water content or electrolytes. The contents of the actual tea, the type of tea and fermentation level can all affect the effects of drinking tea.

Water: 8oz Boiling

Leaves: Various mixture of petals & fruit

Steep: 9m

Aroma: Sweet Apple

Color: Deep Red

Taste: This tea is good reminded me of when I had Teavivre’s blueberry tea. It’s a bit on the tart side but I didn’t want to add any sugar to it.I think I might also want to try it cold, since I normally drink my teas hot.Roselle being one of the ingredients is really good for you so that is another plus with this tea. I tried one of the dried apple pieces it had a nice sweetness to it as well.

Old Sample from Tea Sipper. This is a tart blend heavy on the hibiscus and rose hips and lightly flavored with apple. It’s quite drinkable, but I find myself wishing the apple was a little stronger. Stash’s Cinnamon Apple Chamomile is still my favorite apple tea.
