I was expecting that there would be a noticeable strawberry taste, or that it would taste like strawberry rhubarb pie. That wasn’t the case. It had a nice deep red colour, and was pleasant enough on first tasting. I added a teaspoon of honey which improved it for me. I could certainly taste the hibiscus, which I think is the more dominant flavour here. It reminded me of one of several red, hibiscus infused teas from Stash. I think there are better fruit infusions out there, but I did enjoy the fact that you can eat the fruit afterwards.

The taste of this certainly didn’t seem to match either the description or the name. It smelled okay, and tasted somewhat full bodied with some sweetness, but the flavours were unremarkable and nondescript. I wouldn’t recommend it or try it again. Lacks the flavour of a flavoured black tea, and the distinctiveness of a good solid unflavoured black tea.

I like the smell of this tea when steeped. It smells like apple pie. I steeped it for at least 5 minutes, and I can smell the tea when I drink it, but the flavour is much milder than I’d like it. It would be nice if it had more flavour. I will be trying this again with a steep time closer to 7 mins, or put more than 1.5 tsp tisane per cup. I also like the fact that I can eat the fruit and nuts at the end.

I love a nice black tea, and I don’t mind a good flavoured tea, but this one was lacking the punch of the actual tea. The blueberry flavour was nice—I enjoyed picking out the blueberries and eating them afterwards. However, even after 4 mins it was a light brew that doesn’t hold up well to milk. I didn’t totally dislike it, but I wouldn’t add it to my cupboard.

You are right. It didn’t taste like tea enough. During the day I add more hot water to the leaves and the first resteep didn’t have very much flavour at all.

drank Alpine Punch by DAVIDsTEA

I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I don’t normally like Rooibos, but the flavours in this one were yummy! It reminded me of a hot cider or punch and I could picture myself being served this in some Alpine cabin after skiing. I could also taste the coconut and almond notes. Lovely.

Just tried this and it is very nice. I can definitely taste the peppermint. I wasn’t sure about the other flavours, but definitely tasting something smooth too, which could be the white chocolate, but reminds me of vanilla. I’m not getting any burn from the peppercorns, but the tea is very warming. I’d definitely have it again.

Great tea. Smooth. I prefer it to a straight Earl Grey because it is not overbearing. Flavour is there, but comes across smooth, just enough. Goes well with milk.

My new favourite tisane. Holds up well to a long steep time. Water temperature should be less than a full boil. I will boil the water and wait 2 mins before pouring it over. Fruity but not sour. Wouldn’t even know there was eucalyptus in it. Very enjoyable at any time of day.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I don’t usually like flavoured black teas. It has pieces of strawberry in it. The strawberry taste was nice and strong, plus a smoothness from the vanilla. A milder tea than a straight black, but nice even with a bit of milk in the evening.

This is my favourite tea which I drink sparingly as I don’t have easy access to it. Exactly as it is advertised: rich, bright and malty. I also purchase the loose leaf version. For someone who likes their tea with milk, I find this tea to really satisfy.

I’m an Archivist who is addicted to tea. I love tea—it always improves my mood. My preference is for straight black teas though there is the occasional flavoured black tea that gets me smiling. These days I’m exploring Chinese tea and gongfu cha.
