15257 Tasting Notes
Sooo…what did i like about this tea? The spice :) What did i not like about this tea? The smell. I won’t share what the smell reminded me of since nobody wants to read that lol What this tea does do though is make me excited for the malted chocomate that’s on it’s way to my place!
I kinda want to feed this one to my other half to see what he thinks but sadly he’s at work while i’m my tea journey today heh.
I needed a break from all the flavours happening in my mouth with the tea craziness today so I opted for this one. This was just what I needed. Nothing to add beyond what’s already been said about this tea, but I will say that it’s just the break I needed from my flavored teas. :)
so let me just say, it’s hot! I’m cleaning and the weather here is hot and I’m drinking hot tea all day lol. I must be insane. Nw I am not a fan of pistachio ice cream, but I am a fan of butiki teas! So when indigobloom asked if I wanted to try it I of course said “more tea?! Ok!”
This is not a tea I’d order again but I’m glad for the chance to taste it. I think I have a few friends who would really love it so I’ll be letting them know. I DO however love the smooth taste of this tea and the nutty flavor. It’s not a bad tea – just not one I’d keep regularly in my cupboard since there are so many others I love more :)
Lol gotta be careful when you use that word around here Helena…..in the US rockets are actually smarties….not to be confused with our smarties. ;)
Smarties. Which is why I suspect OUR rockets are called rockets….
OUR smarties aren’t sold in the us….Unless that’s changed recently, pretty sure they wouldn’t do very well either given the monopoly/insanity that is the us and their m&m craze
that’s okay we don’t get the good flavours of Kit-Kat those are reserved for Japan. Japan gets honey flavoured, green tea, cherry blossom etc… shame those Kit-Kats are only in Japan…
Neat! Didn’t know that was the case. In other random flavour news, if you ever go to disney’s epcot (in florida, though i assume they have the same thing in california) there’s coke stand where you can try the different kinds of coke products that are sold/popular in different countries around the world. It’s neat! and free! lol
So I wasn’t too sure about this open but figured what the hell when the girls asked me if I wanted to try it….I say girls because by now I’ve completely forgotten whether it was kittena or indigo loom who gave me these…though most will fall in indigos world. I’m not sure the smell would warrant keeping this tea around if it came back. It’s damn overpowering! But that being said, the tea itself is actually really nice. It could be a little more chocolatey but overall I really enjoy it. It reminds me of camping back when my parents used to take me…this tea tastes like your clothes smell once you get them back to civilization after a week of campfires haha I love it!
I think part of the problem with having 500 samples (thanks indigobloom) of tea in one place is that some of the flavours/smells blend together. there’s a hint of smokiness in this tea that i’m pretty sure comes from another sample of tea from Kittena And that ladies and gents is why you must be wary of canadians pushing tea out of the back of their car. haha but anyway…ignoring that, this is a really nice light tea. Not something i’d drink all the time, and something i’d probably rather enjoy iced. The colour is a wonderful purpley-red and the smell is great! Theres a tang as your first sip the tea that quickly changes to a warm subtle flavour. Not too shabby!
Hahahahaahahaha. I’m so behind on Steepster but went specifically to your page just so I could read your comments about the teas we gave you! Sorry to hear the smokiness affected this one (which was from Indigobloom).
Yah….so there may be a few tasting notes today. It’s tea and cleaning day because I need to get through some of the samples sitting in the house. Another one from adagio and while this is better than the last few, I’m still not a fan. There’s a weird taste in there that I can’t pin my finger on that just doesn’t say yum. Ah well…on to the next as that’s half the fun!
oh darn! ya saw how much I have left of this… what on earth am I gonna do with all that tea??? humbug.
hey now, we gotta spread the tea love somehow!
Always wondered why there are no tea carts, or heck even coffee carts in TO, like they have in nyc…
So this is a great tea! As my first tea from Della Terra Teas – it’s got me looking forward to the other 6 I have to try. The flavoring of the mango and the peach together is wonderful. I’d also really like to try this iced as I think it would be even better. A great tea for those who like peach and mango :)
YAY for samples of new tea in the mail! So yesterday my two samples from the Tea Merchant arrived – the perfect ending to a very long day! I love the wax seal on the packaging, honestly the simple things make the difference. I also have to say, I also really like the labels on the bags. The colours and information work well for me.
So, on to the tea! I chose this one and Yunnan’s Fable more because I haven’t yet had a golden assam and because my experience with Pu-erh has been limited. I suppose i could have gone with two teas I KNEW i would like but I wanted to try something new.
I have to say the colour of this tea is really nice. I was sad to have to put it in my travel mug to take it to work. This tea works for me. I’m managed to burn my tongue twice now (no I don’t learn) trying to drink it! I don’t have any other experience with “assams” to be able to offer a comparision but I’d order this one again and try other teas from the Tea Merchant if that’s an answer :)
Sil, on the contrary, WE DO WANT TO KNOW, what does it smell like??
Can’t be much worse than the vomit description a while back.
haha
agreed on the smell! it was certainly… interesting!
