97 Tasting Notes
I wanted something chocolatey tonight but didn’t want anything with actual chocolate chips in. I also didn’t want all the caffeine of a black tea so late in the evening…so Slimful Chocolate Decadence it is!
As always, a delicious airy chocolate flavour with wonderful coconut. Wonderful, wonderful coconut. I love coconut. I can’t deny it. This tea reminds me of a very light chocolate mousse with nuts. Or a coconut macaroon.
After the disappointment I’ve felt with teas overall today, it was nice to have this one at the end of the day. Rating goes up!
Preparation
Had this again today and I was rather disappointed. Despite steeping for a long time, it had almost no flavour. :( Like drinking hot water with a slight sweet creaminess. I don’t know if I had a bad batch of leaves or what…
Steeped twice, second time was a tiny bit better.
I’m gonna have to lower my rating significantly. It’s just not the same as the first time.
Preparation
Maybe try dehydrating your own pineapple and add to whichever tee you like? Or boil it down until you have syrup then dehydrate that. Might work.
That’s not a bad idea! I don’t have a dehydrator though, so I guess I’d have to just buy some dried pineapple and add it in.
sometimes adding a spice can help… i don’t find david’s persuasive, myself =0\ you could try nutmeg, or a dot of vanilla. you could steep and reduce on the stove and dump it over ice cream. temperature can change things too. maybe try an overnight cold steep?
Dearest Gingerbread, you always make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. After having a stressful morning and trying a tea I wasn’t so big on, you are heaven to my mouth. ♥♥♥

Preparation
Oh yes, it’s one of my favourites…I had to run out and get a tin of it before it was gone. :P Sorry you didn’t like it!
You’re a weirdo. >:-| lol
It’s tolerable. But it tastes so much like candied ginger. And I. Hate. Ginger. If I liked ginger, I would probably like it.
(Oops…I added this tasting note to the wrong tea.)
This is a creamy, milky sort of oolong with a slight marshmallowy vanilla taste to it. Almost artificially so, disappointingly. The smell of the tea alone smells kind of like super sweet Rice Krispie cakes. But is it tasty? Hmm…yes, but nothing I would have cravings for.
I’ll be resteeping and seeing if it’s better on the second cup.
Edit: I ended up not resteeping and instead going back to an old favourite. Lol, next time.
Preparation
I had really high expectations for this tea, so I’m grading it a little harsher than I do others. It’s tasty, but I don’t really feel like I’m biting into a cookie. All I taste is brown sugar and sweet. A little cinnamon. Maybe I didn’t use enough leaf…I’m certain I steeped it long enough though.
Then again…it’s likely my mouth is still burned and I still can’t taste anything.
Preparation
Mmm – this tastes sugary sweet and almost creamy. Definitely a dessert tea through and through. Reminds me a lot of the Creme Caramel Rooibos, as I would expect it would, although a bit toned down on the sweet. I steeped this a little longer than I probably should have but it doesn’t seem to harm it – probably makes it taste better, actually.
I abstained from drinking tea yesterday due to burning my tongue on it badly the day before…I have a feeling I’m gonna be making up for it today by drinking lots. :P
Preparation
This was absolutely perfect for the morning. Reminds me a heck of a lot of orange juice! Yum yum. Fruity with an almost acidic mouthfeel. I definitely taste orange and papaya.
This actually reminds me of green tea…even though it’s not. I’m not generally a fan of green tea, but I like this. S’good.
Preparation
Hmm…I like this! I’m a fan of licorice in small doses, however. If you aren’t, you probably won’t like this.
I actually was a bit surprised – this tea has more of a licorice kick than I thought. Sweet black licorice would probably be the best way to describe the taste. A bit of creaminess from the white chocolate. Perfect for a cold night.
Another thing you can try is raw cocao nibs I use them in a few blends and they dont clump like baking coco, you can find them in most vitamin stores and they are a great source of iron.
