I did not read the ingredients list prior to brewing up the sample someone had sent me of this tea many moons ago….

So I didn’t notice that it had guayasa in it…I was getting some sort of chamomile-like scent, not sure where that came from, but I didn’t care for it. I guess though I love the scent of vanilla+lavender, I could do without the taste.

Cool to try an old tea from my wish list, especially one that no longer exists!

PS – oh hey there. :)

Oh dear god no. I overleafed AND oversteeped this because I got distracted chatting at work.

Kitchen sink, here I come.

I have been dreading drinking this everytime I look at the bag, so thankfully I ruined this cup and it wasn’t even on purpose.

One serving left, hopefully I don’t kill it.

I might be able to say that I sipped this down, but I feel like I MIGHT have another bag at home, so I will wait.

It’s good… but i think i have discovered that as far as oolongs go, I’m not loving the roasty dark ones. Moreso the green fresh ones – like milk oolong and coconut oolong and vanilla orchid from DT. I realize I just named a bunch of flavoured oolongs.

But the base taste of this sort of oolong distracts me a bit. I did enjoy it, but it’s not one I would restock. It’s kind of overpowering. I’m sure it doesn’t help that when I make it at work I probably oversteep it a bit.

Anyway, happy to have tried it! I will have to hunt around at home and see if that other bag is real or imaginary.

I still like this. It doesn’t seem to be everyone’s favourite but I prefer it over some of the super sweet Butiki blends.

I’m glad I still have quite a bit.
Je regrette rien!

I am still clinging desperately to all my Butiki teas.

I made this the other night… I don’t love it as much as some of the others because i find it’s just a bunch of sweet mapleyness. NOT a bad thing at ALL! But doesn’t quite have the layers of flavour complexity that the marmalade one or hello sweetie has, for example. Nothing to counteract all that sweetness.

But i sure do enjoy it!

Been drinking this a bit lately… it’s always an easy one to bring to the movies with me, I find it a very reliable tea that never fails me. And is always tasty.

I continue to appreciate this tea.

That is all!

GAH I love this tea so much. Bumping my rating up from 88.

I just used my last bag to refill my tin that I had recently emptied… now I don’t even have the illusion of having a tin PLUS a bag… just a tin.

Once it’s gone, it’s gone. HOARD HOARD HOARD!

It’s my perfect flavoured tea, with a killer base. Everything just works so well together. I bring it to the movies a lot in a Contigo and take the lid off and sip and sniff and sip and sniff.

I’m going to be awfully sad when it’s no more.

BUTIKI Y U GONE!?!??! :(

I finally got to try this from a sample someone sent… so sorry, it’s been ages, it’s just been sitting in my cupboard and I can’t remember who sent it. BUT I APPRECIATE YOU!

It was a “must try” for me for a long time, yet for some reason I never ordered it. I always meant to, but then Butiki ended, as did my chances.

I must be honest, the little sample I tried didn’t blow my mind. I might not be the biggest fan of strawberry flavoured tea, maybe that’s why. I didn’t find it super flavorful, not as much graham or pie notes that I hoped.

Always hard to tell by a little baggie sample, maybe I underleafed (or, overwatered).

At least i don’t WANT WANT WANT it, because i wouldn’t be able to get it anyway!

Hello!

I love tea. I love my mini-me daughter, my husband, my dog Wally, Netflix, shopping, and tea. Some other stuff too, but these are the most important!

Some favourites -

My new favourite tea company is A Quarter to Tea. I love the flavouring used and how it doesn’t seem fake, and the combinations are so delicious. Right up my alley.

My favourite teas are black, I love Laoshan Black and Taiwanese Wild Mountain Black tea from TTC. Also many of Teavivre’s black teas.

Butiki teas RIP, I loved how the flavours were subtle and not fake tasting and didn’t overwhelm the tea base. Trust that I am dramatically mourning the loss of this company!

Teavivre, Whispering Pines and Mariage Freres are some more tea companies I appreciate. Along with Davidstea as it was the ‘gateway drug’ to my tea addiction. Though I’m mostly over it now, I’ve definitely moved on from the artificially flavoured teas and am trying more quality straight teas!

My ultimate goal is to try as many French teas as possible – and to finally find a source in Canada for Mariage Freres so I can buy Wedding Imperial, and Black Orchid for sure.

I would like to try any Taiwanese Assams that exist in the world!

Also continuously on the hunt for Fauchon – La Naissance. If anyone has some of this I would pay for it!!! It’s my number one all time favourite tea.

When I rate, it goes like this:

85 -100 = WIN! awesome, I love this and keep it on hand
70 – 85 = pretty darn good but I don’t NEED to own it
55 – 70 = not necessarily terrible but not a tea for me!
30 – 55 = missed the mark as far as I am concerned. Wouldn’t drink it willingly.
0 – 30 = I likely won’t rate this low very often, so if you see it, consider the tea a great big FAIL and probably disgusting.
