Surprised. I am a bit of a purist that likes of my tea ‘uninterrupted’ by added flavors/elements, but this Bao Zhong in combination with the naturally sweet coconut is creamy, smooth and delicious. I agree with other reviews that is gives Nantou Milky Gold varieties some close competition. And it does seem to ‘sweeten’ as it cools. It holds flavor for a second cup too. Now I’m curious to try other brands & offerings to compare!

The dry leaf has such a strong coconut aroma but I see no coconut pieces in the mix. It smells great. The base is bao zhong and it steeps up very light. The coconut is the star of the show. It should last a long time since there are no coconut chunks to go rancid.

Tasty!

We’re pondering a Branson trip in a few weeks—they have a Spice & Tea Exchange at one of the big shopping venues. I’ll have to see if I can sneak a sniff.

Sipdown! Trying this again a bit differently. I used about 14 oz of water almost boiling used 2 perfect teaspoons. To try and highlight the flavor I added some Vanilla soymilk. Doing this completely turned around my opinion on this tea. It has a very subtle coconut vanilla flavor, it is very smooth and creamy. I didn’t care much for this tea the first 3 times I tried it. I’m so glad I finally made it delicious. Townshend’s Coconut Pouchong now has a competitor!

I really love this! The coconut is so prominent, and it’s a nice natural coconut, not sweet or artificial tasting, and it goes well against the rich dark green flavor of the oolong.

I’m still new to tea, but this is one of my favorites so far, and I find it wonderfully drinkable. (Plus I bought it in Florida and the coconut is very evocative of the beach!)

I had some of this last night while over at some friends’ for dinner. It was nice. Pleasant, light, but I think I didn’t let the water heat up enough before I stopped the kettle (I have a glass kettle and can see when the water is just about to boil. They had a metal one.) because it wasn’t very strong. I think if I get the chance, I’ll have this again and steep it better.

For some reason, I had remembered this tea tasting funky. Before throwing it out I decided to try it again and I’m glad that I did. One of the few oolong teas in my cupboard right now, and also the only with coconut, but I’m not sure why. This is a simple and delicious coconut tea. Would be delicious mixed with an almond/chocolate tea for a sweet almond joy flavor. I tried it with coconut nectar.

I’m pretty new to tea drinking, but so far this is my favorite that I’ve bought. In the bag it smells strange but really good like grass and coconut, like some kind of cooked tropical vegetable or food I can’t really place the name of. Brewed the smell and taste are so smooth like coconut oil. I’m pretty obsessed and have been drinking nonstop. Highly recommend.

This is one of my most refreshing summer green teas. I tried to drink 3+ cups of tea a day and this always seems to make my list. The coconut is light, at times subtle depending on how it was brewed.

This tea is excellent in the later afternoon. I also find it extremely refreshing when poured over ice on an especially sweltering day.

I love this tea. I put in a little bit of The Spice and Tea Exchange’s coconut sugar in it. It smells so good, too. Would be a perfect pair to almond cookies!
