51 Tasting Notes

Finally got into a Teavana for the first time. Wasn’t thrilled with the selection; most of what I went in there to try was out of stock. However, I did pick up some of this tea to try, and want to see how it compares to my current fav, Creamed Earl Grey by Tealish. Currently watching the final episodes of Downton Abbey Season 2, and distracted by the butter tarts that I am shoving in my mouth. I’m not going to rate this tea today as it would hardly be a fair review, but will say that it was an enjoyable enough experience with the butter tarts, and of course, my beloved characters of this show.

Butter tarts, Earl Grey & Downton. That’s a great day.

Terri HarpLady

I haven’t watched Downton Abbey (yet), but sounds like you had the perfect munchies & tea for it!

Yogini Undefined

Thanks! It was pretty awesome! :D

Azzrian

Someone just asked me today if I watch that show! What channel is it on?
What network I should ask. Thanks!

CHAroma

Out of stock? Booo!

P.S. I love Downton Abbey!!!! They need to make more episodes. I’m extremely impatient.

CHAroma

OMG! I just remembered the scene where the Dowager Countess of Grantham sat in a swivel chair for the first time and about freaked out! LOL! Best reaction EVER!!! Gosh, I just love Maggie Smith.

2 teabags, 1 Venti sized Starbucks Mug. I’m falling asleep, been running on little sleep and I need to wake up, fast. Today’s brew is beyond “kick you in the teeth” – this is “kick you in the teeth, dragged down the cobblestone road by a team of horses, and then dump you in a trough” type of goodness. Hot damn, I love this tea.

gmathis

Horses … Clydesdales, no less. Big, carriage-pulling brutes! Love Yorkshire Gold.

Yogini Undefined

Yes, absolutely Clydesdales :)

Well I was going to brew something else, but the man wanted to have a cup of tea with me and he said “none of that fancy stuff. I just want that orange pekoe or whatever it’s called. You, know, REAL tea?” Since he rarely wants to take tea with me, I try to oblige his requests. ;). So I brewed a pot of this and he really enjoyed it. I was surprised when he said he wanted to drink it black (I didn’t know he took his tea straight – I guess you learn something new each day!) He sniffed it first and then took a sip and said “mmm good” and said at the end that it was a good cup of tea. So there you go! I, of course enjoyed mine too. All in all, it was really nice – tea is meant to be shared :)

Nik

So cute! I love this story. =)

CHAroma

REAL tea. LOL! Love it!

gmathis

Work friend of mine only drinks Liption, and until I cheerfully corrected her (and still do just to get her goat) thought “orange pekoe” was a flavor. I guess I shouldn’t laugh…it took me several years to find that out myself :)

A bit of tummy lurgy tonight. BIG mug with lots of honey. Crisis averted.

Thank goodness for tea!

So when I was burrowing through some stuff in my basement, I came across a long-ago purchased hammock that I had forgotten about. Imagine! I could have been using the damn thing all summer, and only just now found it. Ah well, at least I found it.

In my pea brain, I had romantic visions of me swaying gently in my hammock, whilst drinking a cuppa, and enjoying a good book beneath the shady trees. Sounds delightful, right? Well, have you ever tried to drink anything in a hammock? I’m not sure it can be done. Especially a HOT drink. Picture it: Hot tea. Swingy hammock. Flailing arms. A girl who should never try to join Cirque du Solei. Nope, not a good situation. Learn from my folly. I can’t believe I’m even telling all of you, but I figured you might have a laugh from it. End result, tea was excellent once my feet (and rear) were firmly planted on the ground. ;)
gmathis

Thanks for the chuckle! Invest in a good lidded tumbler and try again :)

ashmanra

LOL! What a great picture! I hope you didn’t get hurt.
I don’t know where you live, but it has been too blasted hot and buggy to use our hammock. Spring and fall are our best hammock times.

Kittenna

Hahahaha, that’s awesome! I never really thought about potential difficulties with drinking beverages while in a hammock!

Indigobloom

oh dear, thanks for the giggle! stay dry lol :)

CHAroma

LOL! Best story ever!

Made this as a proper latte on the stove. Added some cinnamon to garnish, honey to sweeten, and even though I used skim milk, it’s still decently creamy. Well, as creamy as you can get with skim milk lol. Not as spicy as I would like, but still good.

Just a girl doing yoga. And other random things.
I drink a lot….of tea.

I’m still figuring out my rating system. The little smiley faces mess me up – I wish you could see the numbers underneath. Bear with me while I figure it all out and hopefully come up with a rating system besides “like” “don’t like” and “sometimes/sorta kinda like” ;)
