St. Petersburg

In typical Kusmi fashion, a very flavourful tea. An easy brew, tasty and rich. I’d recommend it for sure.

Great tea! I got a sample when I bought my new glass pot in Berlin, and I have to say that this was amazing. The caramel kicked in at the end, which is reasonable. You can feel the fruits all the way though!

This time I rate it a bit higher, because I enjoyed it as if it were a pure Marco Polo (caramel black tea). The citrus fruits once more get lost during the brewing process, which is a shame, according to me.

Thank you TeaSipper for organizing this box and adding in a small sample of this tea. I have been eyeing the Kusmi Russian sampler for a while now so when I saw this in the box I had to give it a go. It was a nice cup, but nothing that rocked my socks off and screamed buy me. It had hints of berry and citrus with a sweet note in the back of the sip. I would be willing to give this one another try on a different day. I would see it being my mood, but this my quash my interest in buying the sampler pack for now.

Ok, I have never said this about any tea before, but I will just be very blunt and say that the steeped result and the taste of this tea made me instantly nauseous. I usually don’t mind bergamot and I don’t know if it’s the combination with the berries that make it so terrible but this is the worst tea I have had yet.

Sad sad sipdown… :( Drinking the last cup of this make me want to regret sending out samples of it to several people. But then I remember how much tea I have… And then I get excited because I now have an empty tin to use! Hooray!

I still really like this one, even though I’ve tasted a lot of different things since I last had it. I do find myself needing to add sugar because of the bergamot, but that’s more of a personal preference and I don’t blame the tea. I wonder if the Kusmi store does refills on mini-tins… :D

St. Petersburg and Paris have a lot in common—the teas, not the cities! I was expecting more of a caramel presence in Kusmi St. Petersburg, given the strongly caramel-redolent dried leaves, but the brewed tea ended up tasting very close to my memory of Harney & Sons Paris. The liquor was lighter than that of Anastasia, more of an orange than a reddish amber. I’m going to have to compare this blend side-by-side with both Paris and Tower of London, which also bears similarities.

I took a sip of the unadulterated tea and was not that enamored of the flavor. With light cream, however, this tastes very good. Either because I spilled a bit too much cream in, or else because the teas used are light, my final glass ended up looking like a latte. I know that I used enough dried leaves, as I added an extra half teaspoon more than I used in my Anastasia preparation.

This tea is a staple of my daily life. I have many teas that I consider better, but for an easy to drink, caffeinated punch in the mornings – this is what I turn to. The tea is fruity, smells great, and is easy to drink.

Here’s one Nicole sent a while back! thank you so much! I think I’ve tried a couple teas from Kusmi to know I’m not really a fan of their black tea base flavor. Just not to my tastes! This one should be my favorite though, since it has a subtle bergamot and subtle raspberry. I could have used more flavor though… it would have distracted from the base. But I like the flavor that is there. Everything is so mild in this cup, even at just boiled and steeped for four minutes. I can’t love every tea I guess! But this is the best of the few Kusmi I’ve tried.

Tastes like a warm candied (caramel) apple, minus the sugar. I quite enjoy it, though it doesn’t feel like I’m drinking tea.
