Oh my heaven, have I ever under-appreciated this tea! The beau and I have been turning to this a lot lately as a pot to enjoy together. I find it delicious and sweetly lemon, more lemon cream pie than lemon zest – and I like that. For my Canadian friends, this reminds me of Honey Bee from Davids Tea in some ways, though obviously non-caffeinated. Caffeine doesn’t bother me one way or another, but I like the rooibos base (no bitterness, huzzah!) Highly recommended and one of the rare teas I am actually increasing the rating on after having enjoyed it for a few months. I bought the biggest tin available of this (6 oz) when I placed my order, and for once I don’t regret it – this is fabulous!

Okay…let me tell you about this morphing aroma here, folks! It’s truly an adventure!

DRY – prior to infusing – this smells like Lemon Pie…not meringue but a crusty pie and I can also smells a little cream or vanilla happening here. Now…as it infuses it smells a lot like Lemon Pledge. BUT…after the infusion is complete…it smells like a yummy sugary lemon – almost like lemon drop candy – and cream!

And that’s just the aroma adventure!!! Now…on to the taste…

It’s very smooth and velvety. It’s a nice creamy lemon flavor – very unique and tasty! I really like this! VERY Creamy! YUM! My fave one from Joy’s Teaspoon so far!

Geoffrey Norman

Oooo, I have some of this. I plan on trying it tonight. It smelled like lemon meringue.

Adding to shopping list!! Nom!

I serve this one to friends often because everyone loves it. I think it is the creaminess you mentioned, a really unique flavor!

My daughter and I made lemon cupcakes with buttercream frosting thinned a little with fresh lemon juice.
Instead of adding water to the cake mix (yeah we didn’t go homemade we took the lazy way out) we added this tea.
Let me tell you these are the best cupcakes E V E R.
Like fluffy airy clouds of melting lemon yumminess floating on your taste buds.
Yay for Lemon Zest!
:)

Cleaning today and needed something to make the process suck less. I do love this tea and it is perfect for a day like today where I need to sip, swiffer, sip, scrub and repeat. What I especially love about it is that if it chills from sitting it still tastes good. Also I have rebrewed once and it is still going strong. Well, this did not take long enough…now what to do to avoid the next chore?

Something about this didn’t sit right with me. It’s got a lemon flavor, but doesn’t really seem like a real lemon flavor/smell. It’s oddly flat, making it seem fake. I think some of that comes from the earthy, sweetness of the rooibos, but still kinda weird. It feels like it’s sitting between the two different teas that it should be but can’t make up its mind, so it hangs out in the middle not really embracing any flavor.

Holy sweet Margie Mother of Buddha, you can tell what you’re getting into by smell alone. It smells like lemon pie. I LOVE lemon pie. I also love honeybush and rooibos blended together. Add lemon and you have a happy me. I could go into the subtleties of this blend, but there are none, by golly. It’s loud and it’s proud. Sweet without needing sugar, citrusy without overdoing it. It’s herbal infused perfection.

I did. I did. And got the review to prove it.

And I included “Jebus” in the pending Teaviews write-up. ;-)

I can best describe this as sweet, creamy lemon. It is amazingly delicious. Thank you Joys Teaspoon for sending me a sample. I may have to make this a permanent addition to my extensive collection.

Received a sample of this from Naomi, thank you! This is a blend of rooibos and honeybush. There’s also lemon bits and pretty cornflower blossoms throughout. It smells like sweet lemons and vanilla cream with delicate herby notes.
The website recommends using 1 teaspoon per 6 ounces of water. I steep in increments of 8 ounces, though, since I always use my Breville. (The minimum amount of water necessary to make tea is 16 ounces for the Breville One-Touch tea maker.)
So I steeped 1 1/2 teaspoons per 8 ounces, at 205 degrees, (Joy’s Tea recommends steeping in the range of 203-212 degrees for this particular tea,) for 6 minutes to get the maximum flavor.
Steeps to an amber liquor. Smells just as beautiful as it did dry. Tastes lovely! This is the smoothest lemon tea I’ve ever had. It’s very naturally sweet. The texture is satisfying. The scent of the dry leaves didn’t carry over as boldy into the steeped tea as I thought it would, and I’d probably like it a wee bit bolder, but this is very enjoyable. It’s like the sweetheart of lemon teas. I feel like maybe it’s not named correctly, like the name should hint at it’s creamy humbleness. It really is a great balance of sweet and tart, with the perfect amount of herbiness and a smooth creaminess that makes it a mellow lemon tea easy to fall for.

Hi Ashley! I feel like Lemon Zest doesn’t necessarily represent the creaminess of the tea either. I need to hire a nail polish namer… :)

Ohhhhh my my my. This is pure velvety heaven. Thank you Naomi at Joy’s Teaspoon for this fantastic tea! Opening the 6oz sample – yum. I am a Respiratory Therapist and I don’t like the smell of cigs, but have you ever smelled a very fine vanilla tobacco? Add a sweet lemon dash and this is it!! Steeped for 4 then 5 mins per instruction. I prefer 4. At 5 I was worried it was borderline Lemon Pledge tasting. This tea is a mixture of creamy white cake and lemony goodness. Don’t get me wrong it is not overly sweet, it just makes you think of caaaakke. Strange note, it was hard to keep hot. Weird. But no matter the temp, I feel it would be terrific. Oh I am so ordering this again. Soon and a ton of it.
