Still on the fence about this one. I thought I would hate it as I’m not much for dessert teas, but it’s not bad. Strong maple and vanilla flavours. The maple is what’s throwing me off because I personally hate maple anything, but I’m still drinking this..

I bought a tin of this a while ago without evening sampling it first. I took a gamble and assumed I would like this tea based on the fact that its a rooibos blend. Plus it has sprinkles. Realistically how bad can a tea that has sprinkles in it be? Needless to say I ended up really liking this tea. However more recently I decided one day to try it as a tea latte.
Mind. Blown.
Hands down it tastes amazing as a latte. I’ve been drinking it like this ever since and have never looked back since.
I was a bit skeptical at first adding dairy to rooibos because I don’t think I’ve added dairy to herbal teas before? Nevertheless it tastes delicious and will be the only way I’ll drink it from now on.

Full disclosure: on it’s own this tea is not a 90%. It is kind of a boring vanilla rooibos, a little sweet but not remarkable.
HOWEVER I am going to tell you a wonderful tea secret that might change your mind about this tea if you have tried it before and been unimpressed:
If you like to drink teas latte style; this tea blends with almost any herbal or black tea perfectly and takes the drink to a whole new level.
I am very fond of blending it with dessert-y herbals, iced OR hot. I sub like 1 scoop of it in for a travel mug and two for a pot. It adds a taste of creamy vanilla that blends really well with the macadamia milk I use for lattes.

Such an amazing tea!
I love the dessert teas.
The only thing I don’t like about this tea is how the little slices of tea escape out of my filter/tea cup/bag and end up floating around in my cup of tea…bleh!

Awwww yiss! I normally am not a fan of sweet, dessert teas, but this tea changed my mind. One of my favorite youtubers raved about this tea so I had to try it. It’s definitely going to be a staple on my tea shelf now.

Rooibos is the perfect base for this tea. It means I can have some sweetness in the evening and not have to worry about caffeine.

Sample from Tea in Spoon’s stash sale. Thank you!

This definitely tastes like Birthday (pan)cake. It’s pretty much a maple vanilla rooibos. It’s definitely a solid tea, using good quality rooibos for the base, but it’s not the best maple tea I’ve ever had, and vanilla isn’t usually a flavor I seek out for it’s own sake. I’ll finish off this sample but probably won’t buy more.

This is my favourite flavour from David’s- it never disappoints. It smells sweet, just like birthday cake. It tastes like it too, it’s smooth and sweet. I don’t have to add any sugar. I like to steep it longer to bring out the flavours. Everyone I have given this tea too loves it.

A lot of people love this one. I like it okay, I just don’t love it. I much prefer cotton candy. (hope that rereleases this summer!) I usually drink it as a latte with 1/2 a cup of milk and a tablespoon of sugar.

I was worried when they didn’t have this blend online during the Black Friday sale. I stopped in to pick up some movie night while it is back and also got some more birthday cake. I can’t believe I let myself run out of this.

Mastress Alita

They recently removed the “Oh Canada!” blend from the American online storefront (and physical stores, if my brief visit to a Bay Area store was any indication, as they didn’t have it there and I was told by the person working there it was “discontinued”), and now I only see it online only if I brute force the regional settings on the website to get the Canadian website… except, as far as I can tell, if you are American, you can’t order from the Canadian online store, only the American one. Sooooooooooo sad about that. I loved that blend! :-(
