Countess of Seville (Organic)

I love the way this tea is perfumed with lavender and oranges.
Its simply delicious

What a nice surprise another tea that i’ve been meaning to try.

Dry leaves smell citrussy, and pepery i imagine that’s the bergamot oil.

Steeped it still smells very much the same. Liqueur is a nice canari yellow color.

time to taste: Light and refreshing, getting alot of bergamot but also picking up the orange the green tea is lost in the other flavors though.

I like it but not enough to go buy a tin of this, glad i got to try it though

I have to admit, I read the back of my 24 Days of Tea box to see what was in this one before I made a mug. It didn’t clue in at first that all the flavors were the same as Earl Grey (it’s been a long week). Anyways, so I made it, and my first sip tasted like green tea, second sip tasted like earl grey (!), third sip green, fourth sip earl grey, and so on. And I have to say I LOVE it!

I’m a big fan of my earl grey, and I especially love my London Fogs/Earl Grey Lattes, but I can’t drink much black tea… the caffeine wrecks me. This is an amazing alternative, and I love the flavor! This totally rivals my Twinning’s Lady Grey addiction!

This is my day #5 of the David’s Tea “24 Days of Tea” advent calendar.

As a fan of tea in general, I was immediately drawn to the classic scent of Earl Grey. I love tea! Can’t live without it. Especially asian brews being oriental myself and growing up with them.

This one’s delicious! Strong with the Earl Grey but you definitely taste the quirk that is the citrus fruit of Orange. I work at a desk and my cubicle is always fluffed with the aroma of tea suiting my mood. This has become my waker-upper. Warm and soft yet strong enough to pick me up and spark me awake with the fruit.

I think my water might have been too hot for this. I’m going to retry it again tomorrow. In the end, I had to add honey to make it more palatable. The first couple of sips reminded me of chamomile with a lemon twist. Remembering my reaction to place chamomile, this is not a good thing. Adding the honey brought out more of an orange peel flavor, which I happen to like, but there is this underlying vegetal taste of cooked cabbage that really reminded me of chamomile. I’m beginning to wonder if this is how my palate picks up floral components.

I’ll try this again making as sure as I can that my water is more in the 180 F range, just in case I messed up.

A second meeting with the countess. I don’t know what it is; I used hotter water and a longer steep, and bingo, I like it. Maybe I just have an unrefined palete, and have to have my tea steeped to within an inch of it’s life. Or maybe I’m just in a better mood. No matter, the orange is nice and tart today, the green smooth underneath, the smell heavenly, and the orange peel not quite as bitter. There’s those extra points I was thinking this would get. Still not quite up to my current favourite, Kyoto Cosmo, but very, very good.

I was excited to try this after the success I had with (the now sadly gone) Earl Grey Oolong, but Countess of Seville just never quite made it to the same levels of delicious. It’s not a bad tea – the bergamot and orange peel are balanced enough that they don’t overwhelm each other or the green base, and as long as you watch your temperatures, it doesn’t get bitter. But I think I might actually like Adagio’s Early Grey Green better. I can’t quite put my finger on why.

I over-steeped this, so it’s not really fair that I’m writing this, but looking at the other reviews, I don’t think my thoughts are too far off. I could barely drink this tea as the bergamot was so strong! It almost hurt my throat. I did finish the cup because after a few sips I got used to it, but that was all I could taste, no orange flavour, no green tea, just bergamot. I have enough left for another cup so I will give it another shot. I’m hoping that is was my fault because after loving the earl of lemon so much, I had high hopes for this tea.

I have only heard good things about this tea. Unfortunately, my first cup of it was sadly lacking. I got a good whiff of Earl Grey bergamot, but… the flavor was all lemon (not even orange…), and the green tea base was just weak.

I’m not going to grade this one just yet. I’m going to wait a couple of days, and then try it again. I’m still hoping to like this one!

I used to buy Tetley Earl Grey Green tea and Lipton Manderan Orange Green tea regularly, so I was excited to try this mixture of those two! I find the orange taste isn’t very prominent, but my friend whose tasted the same batch disagrees. It is a very nice Earl Grey Green and it’s not bitter at all! There is a strong bergamot taste that I like, but those who don’t like it might want to keep away from this green tea.

It does taste significantly better than the grocery store tea, but I will probably settle for the cheap stuff next time just for the sake of my wallet.
