On the eighteenth day of tea-mas, DAVIDsTEA gave to me…..

Steeped for 1.5 minutes the first time, 5 minutes the second. Let the kettle sit, so I don’t know about the exact temperature….

This tasted… almost exactly like rockets (smarties for the American contingent). Unfortunately, that has never been a favourite candy of mine, and I found it a little too… tart-sugary-sweet as a result.

I guess elves like their candy.

Went for my almost daily walk to David’s Tea to pick up my tea for the day and some Citron Oolong that my husband decided to drink and finish off the bag. All this to say that today, I asked the girl for something not to fruity but citrusy. She made me smell a few and decided on Elf Help..boy am I not disappointed. I love the smell and the taste is a little orangey but feels nice inside and tastes nicer and nicer as it cools off. Other dilemma, do I go out tomorrow and get me some Elf Help to my overgrowing teas I already had? Well off to try resteeping this one in my David’s cup since I can’t get enough!

This tea reminds of cranberry orange muffins. Quite a tasty green tea.

Homemade Advent Calendar from Arby: Day 1

IT’S ADVENT SEASONNN! My life is severely overbooked and the obligation to drink + review too many teas will stress me out, so I’m keeping it conservative this year: I did the Steepster homemade calendar swap and got the 52Teas 12 Days of Christmas box. (Aaand then I was #teafluenced by CameronB to pick up the adorable Tea Thoughts stationery advent, so that will be arriving soon.) But I love reading advent reviews and seeing what everyone’s up to, so I’m excited!

Anyway, day 1! Arby’s teas aren’t numbered, so I decided to pick randomly. (Although I did let myself choose a second blend when the first pick was caffeine-free… morning tea requires caffeine!) So now I’m starting with this very seasonally appropriate green blend.

The taste is a bit weak compared to the citrusy sweet scent of the blend, but it’s not bad. I’m not really picking up fruitcake vibes — more like a creamy citrus? — but it’s pleasant enough. Interesting that the coconut doesn’t really come through in taste, though it does provide that sort of creamy backbone. Then there’s a slight zing from the cranberries, though I wouldn’t mind those being a bit stronger!

Hmm… I think this one is a tad older but that’s fine I got it on clearance but the main note is the green tea with a hint of coconut and a whisper of cranberry. I like it though, I prefer it cold/ iced… I may cold brew the other half of the sample packet.

DAVIDsTEA Advent Calendar 2021 – Day 16

Late start to notes today! Probably because I don’t have any black teas. :P

I actually have a 50g bag of this tea that I added to a teaware order with one of my frequent steeper rewards. I like cranberry, and it sounded interesting. Haven’t opened it yet though, just feeding the stash… XD

Anyway! This is an interesting one. To me, it tastes almost exactly like Smarties (or Rockets, for you Canadians). Which isn’t a terrible thing, it’s just a very specific flavor ha ha. So as you might imagine, it’s quite candylike with a chalky powdered sugar sort of vibe and a pop of tartness. I don’t think I would specifically guess cranberry, but the orange part is there. Coconut? Not really.

Anyway, I’m still drinking and enjoying it, so I guess I like Smarties tea. XD

I loved the smell of this tea so was sorely disappointed when i didn’t taste any of the tartness that the smell promised. All I tasted was green tea with a subtle fruit flavor

I found a bag of this floating around in my collection while purging last night. I have so much tea to get rid of before the end of the year! This is light, a bit fruity, and tastes like green tea without being bitter. It’s not bad. It’s not sweet to me and is absolutely something I think would benefit from a little sweetener, but it’s tasty without it as well. It’s not something I’d stock up on (not that I could because it’s long discontinued), but it’s not something I’ll mind finishing.

Sample from Janelle. :) And, as usual, I think I ate half the dried fruit before I ever had a chance to steep the tea. I don’t even like dried fruit that much — I have a friend who just keeps it around all time, all sorts, and I’ve never felt the need to do that. But somehow when I open up a tea, just to smell it, no really… I always end up nibbling on the apples and cranberries and papayas… >.<
I could probably figure out what I think about this tea, but at the moment my feelings are pretty much just “meh, good enough”. It’s been an unexpectedly long day. (Today I learned that when I start crying in corpse pose, my tears trickle down the sides of my face and collect in my ears… it’s quite the strange feeling… >.< )

Yum yum yum! This tea is so sweet. ALMOST too sweet. It tastes like candied orange peels! There’s also something in there that I can’t place but is very candy-like and sweet and lovely. This is really not like any other tea I’ve tried! And not the least bit bitter on the second steep.
