Had some of this tonight. It was from a different batch than the one we have at home. much more mint. Anyway, I became extremely sleepy very shortly after starting to drink my cup. It might have been coincidence, but I was definitely tired. I always have an issue with the chamomile taste in this (I hate chamomile!) but it’s still one I turn to sometimes after a long day…or week…or month. : )

Enjoyed a cup of this last evening to “unwind” after putting the girls to bed…. still recovery from surgery (thank goodness my husband took off this week to be my nurse) At first I was a little concerned, (ok VERY concerned) because the cup smelled like black licorice after steeping. I hate black licorice! But when I took my first sip it was a nice mix of mint and camomile. Very enjoyable to taste, just had to get past the smell of licorice!

Having a lot of trouble sleeping lately, and now that it’s getting cooler in the evenings we’re trying tea to help. I agree with what others say – this really knocks you right out.

We’ve been drinking this blended with the now-discontinued Vata Ayurvedic, but we picked some more up to try just straight, and it’s a much more mellow blend than we anticipated. The flavour isn’t overwhelming, but it’s perfect for a nighttime tea. There’s also a sweet lemony flavour that gets lost in the bold spices of the ayurvedic when they’re blended. On its own, it wasn’t nearly as medicinal as I was expecting, though towards the bottom of the pot it was a bit more tart and acrid.

You can still get the Ayurvedic Vata online from David’s T.

After the mishap with the prep of the other tea I needed something to unwind with and get ready for bed. First off I noted this smelled very minty as it steeped. So I was wondering how this was going to calm me down and get into sleep mode. Usually minty type teas help me kick start in the morning. However, with each sip (yawn), I’m finding I’m getting a little more relaxed. I am really liking the taste of the lemongrass. It blends really well with the other ingredients and making me wish I was writing this review from the comforts of my bed.

I had decided not to buy any more tea until my three orders from abroad that I’m i̶m̶p̶a̶t̶i̶e̶n̶t̶l̶y̶ excitedly waiting for arrive. But I was having some major trouble sleeping for the last couple of weeks, and after trying various things, I decided to pick up a little bit of this tea as it’s locally available, and not buy any others while I was there (that didn’t work out). The girl in the store advised steeping this one for a long time for best results, so I did.

The first part of the sip starts off tasting like your typical chamomile lemon tea, so immediately I thought, ah, I know your game. You’re just like the others, only better looking. But then it threw me for a loop; the juiciness kind of dried out and the sip ended with a slight aftertaste of spice that replaced the tartness of the lemon, which was tasty and cleared my palate before the next sip. As far as its effectiveness, for me it gives more of a body relaxation and makes my limbs feel very loose and gumby-like. It doesn’t particularly make me sleepy, but it does help me relax and unwind after a long day. It kind of feels like having a guilt-free glass of wine. I’m definitely going to go pick up more of this (and nothing else). Maybe I should stop making promises I can’t keep.

This tea is great for before bed.
Having just starting school things tend to get a bit stressful- so, I whipped up a cup of this tea.

Smell: Peppermint, lemongrass
Taste: ^
Color: Pink
I really do enjoy this tea occasionally because of the nice peppermint falvour, however, I cant see myself re-purchasing this tea, just because the taste is not very memorable IMO.
Goodnight.

EDIT- this tea is also a bit to sour for me i originally gave it a 74 but now i am reconsidering my rating….

This is the first “real” tea I actually brought with me on a trip outta town because I couldn’t live without it for the first few days after trying it.

There is something about this tea that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay.

This would be one of the teas I would want on my person in the event of a Zombie apocalypse just for reassurance and to help me stay calm, cool and collected.

That’s how much I really love this soothing, calming, tasty and relaxing tea.

Nuff said.

So I bought this tea for my dad because he asked for “chamomile elixir” and I only later found out he meant some sort of chamomile concoction… Anyway it appears that I chose well, he quite enjoyed it and found it very relaxing!
Personally, I found it to be nothing special and didn’t really feel the effects but it was only 7pm and I typically don’t go to bed until midnight or so…
I definitely tasted the peppermint which was pleasant, and the chamomile, which I am not a huge fan of. I’ll boost this ranking based on my dad’s professed love though! I am slowly converting the family… got my sis to like North African Mint!
