From American Tea Room

This sumptuous, caffeine-free, fat-free blend of organic cacao husks, organic vanilla beans and organic rooibos is sure to be an instant American Tea Room classic.

If the color and aroma of our Choco-Laté blend doesn’t evoke chocolate, then nothing does. Rich brown cacao husks, dark flecks of vanilla bean and umber-colored rooibos present a beguilingly sweet dark chocolate aroma that’s backed with the naturally sweet, woody scent of antioxidant-rich rooibos. The deep garnet brew has a seductive aroma akin to European sipping chocolate. Its smooth flavor is a perfect balance of chocolate, vanilla and rooibos that appeals to chocolate lovers and rooibos lovers alike. The lingering, cacao-rich aftertaste is enough to satiate even the most ardent chocoholic.

Drink Choco-Laté on its own as a naturally sweet, fat-free snack or dessert, or dress it up with agave nectar and rice milk for a healthy tea latte. It’s a natural pairing for chocolate, but if you’re trying to be good, sip it alongside fresh fruit instead. Delicious!

Not as amazing as everyone makes it out to be, but definitely an enjoyable tea!
It’s nice to have chocolate without caffeine :D
Maybe I will try using more leaf next time and see if that makes it more full bodied.

Backlog. At some point I’ll log teas the same day I drink them!
Had this with breakfast the other morning, and it’s still so, so good! Yummy, chocolatey, amazing. Finished off my sample from MissB, now it’s on my wishlist!

I think it’s all been said. I’ve switched to this from hot chocolate, since hey…zero calories.

A lovely cocoa flavor with a real chocolate aftertaste. Tastes like chocolate not like the Swiss Miss sugary stuff some may be used to.

Goes great with a splash of rice or soy milk and a squirt of simple syrup, or even plain.

Nomz.

After steeping in a teapot with infuser, cup is slightly murky, red-brown, with some rooibos floaties. The aroma over the cup mostly a powdery cocoa.

The taste is dominated by cocoa in the back, with some earthy rooibos flavor, too. I get a hint of vanilla at the end of some sips. The body is light to medium, provided by the rooibos, with some powdery feel from the cacao. Breathing out through my nose after a sip gives a cinnamon flavor.

I’ve had some rooibos blends that had too many things going on. This one is simple, but does simple well and in balance.

This has to be one of the best rooibos I have I ever tried. It has the taste of a rich dark hot chocolate without the calories

As far as chocolate rooibos goes, this is as good as it gets! The cacao husks give off a rich chocolate flavor akin to dark chocolate and the vanilla beans give a delicious back drop that makes this positively delicious. I will be making an order for several ounces soon. YUM!

Bought this in the going out of business sale last March. I tried to like it, but I just can’t. There’s an underlying alcohol flavor that is too unpleasant. A few other reviewers seemed to notice that as well. The chocolate flavor isn’t enough to make up for it. It’s just strange. And it’s tasted like this the whole time I’ve had it, so I know it’s not age. I didn’t like any of the rooibos teas I got from them, which is a shame. I usually love rooibos.

If you want a super chocolate-y chocolate tea then try this one!
I feel any any chocolate lover would LOVE it.
It’s not half bad.
But like I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a huge chocolate fan. Was a free sample that I got from their store. So didn’t have to waste money or anything! But glad I’m realizing chocolate flavored teas aren’t really for me unless they naturally taste that way. But yeah, anyway, if you love chocolate you’ll love this one! Plus it’s super smooth, surprisingly smooth. So that’s a bonus!

Wow, this is not what I was expecting at all. I tend to tiptoe around rooibos because of its domineering nature but as soon as I ripped open the packet, a cloud of liqueur-filled dark chocolate enveloped the kitchen.

With light cream, this is very chocolatey. I can still taste the rooibos but it’s rather faint and in no way ultra woody. This would make an excellent substitution for boxed chocolates, as in, satisfying a craving for them.

Way to be, ATR.

Got this as a sample from American Tea Room. Lovely of them to include such a large sample. Unfortunately, I dislike rooibos intensely. Thought I’d give it a try anyway because chocolate. Although the dry leaf aroma and the brewed tea flavor had a nice, strong chocolate presence, it wasn’t enough to disguise the nasty rooibos. I think if it was a black tea base I would have loved it, but this rooibos is not for me.
